As we all know, the main point of Transformers is that they transform into stuff. We've had a great many different alt modes over the years, ranging from vehicles to animals to appliances, but there's always room for more.
So what, fellow Seibertronians, are some vehicle modes you'd like to see appear in Transformers (or for that matter, have already appeared but should appear again)? Anything goes, and it doesn't matter if it's a vehicle, beast or object, or even if it's a real thing or not. Likewise, it can be stuff you'd like to own as a toy or just something you'd like to see on screen/page.
So anyway, here's some vehicles I'd like to see get the TF treatment.
#1: Avro Vulcan.
There's lots of British aircraft I'd love to see made into TFs but if I listed them all we'd be here all day. The English Electric Lightning, the TSR-2, the Sea Vixen, etc etc. But by far the one I want as a Transformer the most is Avro's ridiculously agile bomber, the Vulcan. Part of the V-force bomber programme, it was a massive bomber that handled like a fighter. It looks cool, goes fast (for its size at least) can do crazy things and it sounds phenomenal. Plus, the grey-blue and drab-green colours are lovely. It'd make a pretty nifty Transformer, and due to the sheer size of the thing it'd work perfectly for a Leader class figure. Plus it's not completely flat like, say, the Concorde, so there's a fair bit of mass to work with and thus avoid Robot-Under-A-Plane-Syndrome. Given the shape you could probably pinch ROTF Mindwipe's transformation and scale it up and you'd get an awesome figure.
#2: Jaguar D-Type.
Whilst not quite as famous as the E-type, there's no doubt the D-type is a thing of beauty, especially the track version (pictured here). With its swooping curves, elegant silhouette and wonderful front end, it's an absolute classic of automotive design. Plus it was a killer on the track. This would make an excellent vehicle mode for a Transformer, especially a fembot. Imagine Arcee turning into one! It wouldn't even have to be pink, as quite frankly she'd look gorgeous in British Racing Green.
#3: Light tanks and tankettes in general.
Having just been to Bovington Tank Museum, I've seen a fair few tanks as of late, and whilst the Churchills and T-34s and Tigers were all very impressive, some of the most memorable ones were also some of the smallest. Light tanks, tankettes and self-propelled gun carriers are without a doubt the cutest weapons of war ever devised. Smaller than some cars and oddly toyetic, they were fascinating little things and would be perfect for smaller Transformers (if you want to go really tiny, look at the Carden Loyd Tankette, which looks more like an armoured picnicing vehicle than a war machine). Not only would this justify smaller size classes turning into tanks, it would also allow for some really cool looking toys. It also helps that "Tankette" is the cutest word in the English language, and there's even a (non-transforming) TF character named after the word- a perpetually loyal little redeco of the Skytread vehicle. If Tankette were ever to get an actual transforming figure, it needs to turn into something like the pictured vehicle (a Vickers Mk 5 Light Tank).
