A worthy competitor to the Nemesis itself, the Semper Tyrannis is the flagship of the 2nd Expansion fleet for many reasons, not the least of which is its imposing commanding officer, Scorponok.

This battleship has wrought galactic terror in many regions across the known universe. It is a functional representation of Megatron's motto "Peace through Tyranny". After the Tyrannis has passed through a system, there is little in the way of resistance. Peace comes naturally.

The Stellar Gallery

The room was quiet, save for the soft hum of a few imaging and processing machines. There was no illumination, save for that of the holoscreens. One shadowy figure stood, his attention immersed in the screens in front of him, even as a significantly larger one approached from behind.

“Even the data tracks regarding this place are so old that I can scarcely decipher the language used,” Mindwipe said, his face reflecting the iridescent green glow of the holoscreens in front of him. With one hand, he moved two of the screens away and brought up three additional ones.

“That one would be able to find a simple artifact used by a mechanoid from this time period would be impressive. To find an entire facility--no matter how derelict it has become over the vorns--is one of the great feats of this age. This is truly a great find, mighty Scorponok.”

Mindwipe turned to look up at the much larger Decepticon and took a couple of practiced steps out of the superior Decepticon’s path. Scorponok was not one to be overly concerned with obstacles, be they sentient or not. If they were in his way, they tended to not remain as such for very long.

Comfortably reassured that he was not about to have a limb crushed, Mindwipe returned his attention to the screen in front of him as they stood deep within the bowels of the Semper Tyrannis. Whatever they had found, it had been well-hidden. That fact made finding out what was contained within the structure it all the more necessary.

“Are you certain that it has been abandoned?”

The Stellar Gallery of the Semper Tyrannis

The gargantuan Decepticon general let his gaze to wander from holoscreen to other as he listened to Mindwipe. The planet, its environment and the entrance to the archaic facility were as his informant had described. While the find truly could have been remarkable, there was a rather considerable problem with it. It was not pristine. Someone had been there already, thousands of vorns ago. However, given the existance of this facility had been hidden for so long - it did open an opportunity for it to still hold something truly valuable for the Decepticon cause. And thus, it was worth exploring.

"By its builders most definately." Scorponok replied to Mindwipe's question. "However, the fact its entrance is buried with such care suggests that someone, likely the Autobots - have been there before us. Yet, instead of destroying this facility they chose to hide it. And they kept it hidden for thousands of vorns. Thus, we have a good reason assume it holds something valuable. Had it not been for the archives our informant managed to hack into - we would not have even known to search for it."

Rubbing his chin thoughtfully with the tip of his right claw, Scorponok turned towards a holoscreen showing general data of the 4th planet of the LV-117 system. "This opportunity is too great to be ignored. While I doubt the facility itself holds any danger towards us aside from possible structural damage to it, this planet is known to be dangerous on its own. A typical garden planet, heavy on moisture and rainfall. Prolonged stay will increase the likely hood of developing rust damage. Local mega-fauna can be considered lethal even to our species. And this damnable radiation belt is a real danger for approaching spaceships."

The image on the holoscreen shifted to show short, regularly appearing gaps in the radiation belt. "An orbital bounce it is not an option due to the interference from the radiation. Whoever built that facility must have been the originator of this radiation belt as well. The time curtain for successful landing and extraction is short. Each missed gap in the radiation belt will increase mission length by 0.38 mega-cycles. The dropship will have to be piloted manually without any help from flight computer."

Having gone through most of the raw data they had regarding the target planet, Scorponok turned to leave the Stellar Gallery but did not move towards the exit before addressing Mindwipe for one more time. "Prepare yourself Mindwipe. You have an exploration mission to organize. Cipher should provide you adequate amount of understanding of old Cybertronian dialects. As for your protection - I believe Hun-Grrr's team is free to be deployed."

Scorponok's assurances that whoever had built this facility had left it alone for a very long time came with some measured degree of relief. Something that was as old as their current information suggested this place was could have been under the watchful protection of any number of long forgotten Cybertronians. That it wasn't would at least clear the way for them to proceed without having to worry about sacrificing a fair share of their troop allotment just to secure ownership.

Mindwipe nodded as Scorponok elaborated further on what the informant had found. The fact that it had--at some point--come into possession of the Autobots was certainly cause for concern. It also raised questions. Whatever was here was unarguably old, but how valuable could it be, if even the Autobots had not established some form of garrison there? Had they plundered it dry? Had they rigged it to destroy the first sentient life that came upon it after they had finished with it?

No, surely not. That was something that Mindwipe himself would have done. It was a Decepticon tactic, tried and true. And even for the most bloodthirsty, morally-questionable Autobot out there, surely such a trap would fly in the face of everything their vaunted Prime stood for, on the off chance that some civilization other than theirs happened to discover it.

Moreover, from what Mindwipe had seen of the "fauna" as Scorponok had so casually put it, the Decepticon hypnotist was none too keen on encountering it directly.

"Uhh...," Mindwipe began, hesitating at the thought of having to disturb any of the Terrorcons. He could surely find a way to do so from a safe distance. However, Scorponok would be just as dangerous if he sensed that Mindwipe was possessed of even the slightest bit of real hesitation. Mindwipe quickly changed his tact back to what was expected of a typical Decepticon subordinate. "...yes, mighty Scorponok. We shall discover whatever secrets may yet lay buried within those walls."

Letting out a soft hiss, Mindwipe returned his attention to the screen for a moment before disengaging the feeds and taking his leave of the gallery as well.

Corridors

"Cipher....Hungrrr....what a lovely expedition this will prove to be," Mindwipe said softly as he traversed the ship's extensive labyrinth of passageways. "Literally in one case. Most assuredly figurative in the other.."

As he continued on, Mindwipe could notice a distinct--and ever-increasing--odor that was beginning to wreak havoc with his olfactory sensor array.

"Lovely...," Mindwipe groaned, before turning down a different passageway.

Deep in the one of the more obscure recesses of the Decepticon dreadnaught, the interior illumination grew perceptibly dimmer. The change was subtle, at first, but just as the stale air grew progressively fouler, so too did the passages steadily darken. Even in the unsettling half-light, one could see that the bulkheads and deck plating were coated in a glistening layer of some slick, unidentifiable ichor. Remains of old meals littered the floor in increasing profusion, torn and gnawed virtually beyond recognition. Those few scraps that could be identified would have been deeply disturbing to most Transformers, and scarcely bore prolonged consideration.

Mindwipe’s footfalls, though quiet, had not gone unnoticed. As the hypnotist passed by one inky black alcove, two pairs of fiery red optics, baleful as the Pit itself, sparked to life. Padding forth silently on clawed feet, the sentinel trailed after the intruder, studying his movements, savoring what was to come. Finally, he brought one paw down with deliberate force, so that it could not fail to go unnoticed.

“Lovely,” growled Sinnetwin’s two vaguely canine heads in unison. “Yes, lovely. A lovely morsel, to present itself so willingly in the den of the Terrorcons.”

Twin gouts of flame erupted from the beast’s mouths, only missing Mindwipe by the narrowest of margins. Sinnertwin had no interest in ending his sport so quickly, though. First, he would savor this puny mechanoid’s abject fear, make it watch as he scattered its insides over the slime and the offal.

“Will it scream for me?” inquired the right head, lowering to glare up at the other Decepticon from beneath permanently scowling brows. “Will its lovely cries make sweet music as they echo through these empty halls?”

“Or does it die quickly to escape the pain?” asked the left, raising up to glower down at his intended victim. “Does it make a lovely meal for the Terrocons?” Another wave of hellish-hot fire rolled along the floor, licking at Mindwipe’s feet.

“I cannot wait to find out, Lovely …”

"What are you doing Sinnertwin?" spoke a cruel voice from behind Sinnertwin. From the opening walked out the robot form of Cutthroat. His outstretched his arms and the claws on his fingers. They twitched in anticipation of the carnage that would soon come, the only possible outcome of this unwise visit in the mind of the Terrorcon sociopath.

"You are too slow as usual."

Cutthroat's optics turned red as he continued to walk towards Mindwipe. His every movement oozed with murderous intent. The thought of sparing this intruder was not considered for a moment.

"Don't you see him? Don't you see how he mocks us with his continued existence. He mocks us!"

As he got closer his form began to shift into that of a monstrous, winged monster. He let out a loud screech in anger.

"Move aside, I'll leave him in small enough pieces for you to be afraid of later!"

His cruel laughter echoed in the area perhaps even more frightening that his formidable claws, talons, and peak.

Rippersnapper had taken up a position close to his comrades, but he remained out of sight and eerily quiet. The Terrorcon watched with considerable interest while Cutthroat and Sinnertwin tormented Scorponok’s little errand mech. Unfortunately, if the two continued with their little game then their Commander would see fit to 'curb' their enthusiasm for greeting visitors. Something the terrorist was certain would not bode well for all of them.

Finally emerging from the shadows where he had been concealed, Rippersnapper made his presence known. The white and blue mech stepped between Mindwipe and his two violent teammates. Placing one of his clawed hands on Mindwipe, he shoved the hypnotist back and away. Rippersnapper then turned his attention to Sinnertwin and Cutthroat, he let out a warning growl.

“Back off you two! Need I remind you of what Hun-Grrr will do to the both of you if he finds out what happened to the High Commander’s little messenger?”

The terrorist let out a low growl as he turned his head to look over his shoulder at their unwanted guest.

“What is it you want, cretin? And I warn you, if your explanation if not quick I’ll throw you back to Cutthroat and Sinnertwin.”

It was almost as if his spark had sense their presence before any of his other actual sensory equipment had managed to do so. The overwhelming sense of imminent dread was so real, Mindwipe felt as if he could reach out and touch it. Mold it like clay. Unfortunately, that sense was molding him and not the other way around. Mindwipe would not be the first Decepticon to have gone missing while engaging in interaction with the Terrorcons, so he certainly had no desire to be the latest.

The cold, steely hand that shoved him away from the other Terrorcons was, perhaps, the most welcomed touch he had received in a long time. That act would only buy him a few short moments however. If the Terrorcons were not appeased, there was a strong chance that he might not even get to deliver Scorponok's orders to Hungrr himself.

"We....umm...we have arrived within the orbit of a world that has captured the Commander's interest," Mindwipe spit out as fast as he could. "He has insisted that it be investigated firsthand. I've seen the imagery. It looks...violent."

Once he got down there, Mindwipe would have to stick close to Cipher. That Decepticon would be the only one with whom Mindwipe would be able to carry on any rational discussion regarding what they had found. Before that could happen, though, he needed to survive this.

"He requests that we take a dropship to the surface," Mindwipe said, not gaining the slightest bit of additional courage as he spoke. Rather, he backed further and further in to an enclosed area that was steadily beginning to reek of all manner of industrial fluids. Scrap and viscous oils licked at the edges of his feet as he continued to move backwards. Looking around, he couldn't imagine his current surroundings being altogether different from the intestinal tract of one of those accursed Ickyak's.

The Terrorcon Den

The Terrorcon Den or rather the former storage areas 2a-2c of deck 3 of the Semper Tyrannis - was perhaps the most infamous collection of storage rooms and corridors on board any Decepticon ship. Many Decepticons that had wandered there alone had gone missing, never to be seen again. Most Decepticons avoided the area like it had been contamined by Cosmic Rust. Even when the Terrorcons were away hardly no one dared to explore their domain. For the Terrorcons would know. Somehow they always recognized those whom had been foolhardly enough to enter their den. And for the Terrorcons, it was a matter of pride to punish trespassers - even if was to take place long after the deed had been done. The service drones of the mighty Decepticon battleship had been reprogrammed to avoid this zone. It just wasn't worth the trouble.

Today though, one Decepticon had been brave enough to enter the Den. Then again when one had to choose between becoming the target of mighty Scorponok's ire or the savage fury of the Terrorcons, one really had no good options left. Truth to be told, this particular Decepticon could have even held his own against some of the Terrorcons, at least one on one. Mindwipe was hardly a Decepticon to be underestimated. Yet, he was there alone, so very alone.

It had not taken too long for the pack to react to this intruder. Sinnertwin had been the first as always. And it had been hardly surprising for Cutthroat and Rippersnapper to join Sinnertwin in his little game. Only the loyal Blot stood his ground, waiting for an order to be given before acting. Oh, how it amused the mechanoid whose infamous gladiatorial name had become the name of the whole pack of monstrous Decepticons. The Terrorcon. Hun-Grrr of Yetron.

Lying on his hoard consisting of energon goodies, weapons and gnawed remains of various Cybertronians, other mechanical beings and unliving machines - the massive Transformer that had taken the form of an Algean two-headed razorbeast, listened to the sounds echoing from the corridor leading to his chamber of horrors. For someone who was not familiar with the notorious leader of the Terrorcons, it could appear as if the beast was sleeping. Only if it were so. Transformers had no need for sleep. The monster was all too aware of what was happening in his Den, it just did not care. That was, until Mindwipe uttered the words ´I've seen the imagery. It looks... violent´.

The bloodred optics of the beast flickered into life and slowly one of its dragonic heads rose from its resting place. The combination of greed and lust for destruction that fueled Hun-Grrr had finally been gauged just enough for the beast to take interest.

"Terrrrrrorrrcons! Brrring it to us! Brrring it us NOW!"

Sinnertwin’s fun had scarcely started when he was interrupted first by Cutthroat, then Rippersnapper. This intrusion caused the sentry to bristle immediately. These were his passageways to guard! He didn’t need their help, and he certainly didn’t want their interference. One would end the sport too quickly, and the other allowed Mindwipe to talk, of all useless, foolish things.

Unless it was the incoherent babble of pure, primal panic, Sinnertwin had little interest in it. What did he care for Scorponok’s errands?

He was about to turn his ire upon his fellow Terrorcons directly when Hun-Grrr’s voice boomed out from deeper in the den. And no matter how belligerent or starved for entertainment he was feeling, he wasn’t about to cross their leader.

“What a fortunate lovely it is,” growled Sinnertwin’s heads in guttural chorus. He immediately belied his own appraisal by attempting to take the hypnotist’s arms in his two mouths—biting hard enough to keep a secure grip, but no so forcefully as to cause more than superficial damage—and physically carry him before Hun-Grrr.

With Mindwipe’s message given, Rippershapper let out another annoyed growl and then turned to face the hypnotist. The white and blue mech was about to address their guest when he heard the unmistakable voice that was Hun-Grrr. An evil smile made its way to Rippersnapper’s face as he stepped aside and let Sinnertwin take hold of Mindwipe by the arms.

Keeping in step with the sentry, and close to Mindwipe, Rippersnapper leaned down and whispered to the hypnotist.

“You know this doesn’t bode well for you. The commander was in recharge before you came…and he hates to come out of it to just talk.”

Rippersnapper let out a chuckle as he moved on ahead of Sinnertwin in order to enter the security code to their den.

The terrorist motioned for the others to move ahead when the door slid open. Once they were past, Rippersnapper followed.

Cutthroat grumbled at the words of Hun-Grr. He so wanted to undertake in carnage but now that had been taken from him. Out of all the Terrorcons he was the once who had most dared to attack their commander in such circumstances and always took a severe beating from it. His current oil lust, however, had not risen to the point to drive him to such unwise behavior. Still, it did not mean he was about to let this Decepticon get out of this without a scratch.

As Sinnertwin dragged Mindwipe past him. Cutthroat out his right wing in front of Mindwipe and scratched his face with his wing claws.

"Ooops. I guess I am just clumsy." He said with a sinister laugh and transformed back to robot mode, following the others inside.

Blot sat amidst a pile of ravaged mechly remains, limbs, pumps, digits all scattered in a pool of half-dried fluid and lubricant near his leader’s own clump of pillaged loot and regurgitated filth. He gnawed and chewed on the bits Hun-Grrr had thrown out for him like a master who occasionally rewarded his loyal minions with leftover morsels from a feast.

Titanium bones snapped between Blot’s razor teeth with a screech as he chomped them to fragments. Gobs of torn myomer muscle dropped to the floor with a wet splat. A low growl emanated from Blot’s vocalizer unit as Mindwipe was dragged inside the den by the other Terrorcons.

Even with his slow wit Blot was aware some commotion had broken out at the entrance to the fouled lair but since Hun-Grrr had no specific instructions about it for him, he didn’t bother with it any further. Not that he had to. His horrendous brothers-in-arms wasted no time in welcoming the luckless intruder and striking enough fear into him to tell vile horror stories of the encounter in energon pubs for vorns.

Blot kept biting at his spoils but that didn’t mean he was not alert, should Hun-Grrr require anything of him. Or the miserable mech held in Sinnertwin’s jaws decide to play bold and try some dirty gimmick.

Mindwipe had come to a distinct realization. He was not ever...ever...coming down to deal directly with the Terrorcons again. He knew better. Knew! Sweet slagged Primus of the second Pit. He had thought they might be more content this time around. What in the five galaxies had ever convinced him to come to such a foolhardy conclusion? He wasn't entirely sure, but he knew that he wasn't going to make that mistake ever again.

Rippersnapper's words rung perfectly clear in his mind. No. This did not bode well for him at all. Every astrosecond that passed as Mindwipe was dragged forward, taunted, scarred and otherwise deposited before the feet of Hungrr like so much junk was a double-bladed sword of a gift. It meant he was alive, but only to be tortured further.

Collapsing on his knees, Mindwipe looked up at the fearsome Hungrr, situated atop a significant hoard of Primus-only-knew-what, fuel and fluids trickling slightly from the gash that he had been given by Cutthroat, Mindwipe could barely form words as he now found himself in the presence of the Terrorcon Commander--the whole reason he had been sent down here to begin with. He knew that he had to spit something out, otherwise they would be doing that very thing to him before the end of the orn--only in their case it would be in the most literal sense imaginable.

"Dangerous world below!" Mindwipe blurted out, the first reasonable thing to shoot in to his mind besides crying out for help...an act which would only incite the rage and predatory insanity of the other Terrorcons anyway. Mindwipe fumbled around inside his abdominal storage cavity and produced a few energon chits, spilling them out on the floor in front of him. "I believe we may have found a treasure unlike anything the empire has come across in many a vorn. Scorponok has commanded that I go...but...if I go alone, I know I won't survive. And then, whatever treasure remains there will be lost to us."

The Terrorcon Den

Hun-Grrr's two dragon-like heads rose slowly from his cozy resting place, curious of what gifts Mindwipe had come with. The real reason behind Mindwipe's appearance into the Den was clear enough from what Hun-Grrr had overheard from Mindwipe's encounter with his Terrorcons. Had the command come directly from High Commander Scorponok himself, Hun-Grrr would have left his Den out of respect for his commanding officer without testing his patience. But grunts like Mindwipe were entirely different case. They could be terrorized and toyed with to feed the Terrorcon Commander's endless greed. He did not need exercise his lust for destruction on the other Decepticons - they gave usually gave him enough enemies to tear apart anyhow. Of course, he did not forget to remind the others of his fearsome nature occasionally but in the same time Hun-Grrr was careful not to draw the ire of Megatron or Scorponok through culling too many of their own warriors. All in all, he had found himself in pretty comfortable position in the ranks of Decepticons. Feared by the lesser Decepticons and respected by his few superiors.

And Mindwipe? After blurting out his first words to Hun-Grrr in a manner that made the Terrorcon snicker - surely enough the little lab rat of Scorponok's had been smart enough to come with a bribe. It wasn't much but Hun-Grrr really couldn't expect much more in the current state of the Empire. Nevertheless, both of his heads dashed towards the energon chits even before they fell on the ground. While energon was power and Hun-Grrr needed considerable amounts of it to function on full efficiency - this, was all greed. A by product of those long vorns ages ago when his survival had depended on being on the top of the food chain and hoarding to survive long periods of time without access to energon due to actions the Senate towards the Border Regions during Nominus Prime's reign.

Having finished his latest snack, Hun-Grrr transformed into his towering robot form, not much less terrifying than his beast mode.

"A treasure unlike anything the Empire has come across in many vorns?" The former ruler of the pit-fighting arenas before Megatron's and Grimlock's stellar rises to the top of the heap asked from Mindwipe. This time, his voice clear and without the distortion from an odd speech deficit he had in his beast mode. Of course, not having his mouths full of food helped tremendously as well.

"Enough with the games friends." Hun-Grrr spoke to his Terrorcons and placed his bulky arm on Mindwipe's shoulders. His taloned digits and the wicked smile on his face being a constant reminder of the threat his proximity to Mindwipe came with. "We have a treasure to uncover and apparently enough of carnage in front of us for even Cutthroat to feel satisfied for a short while. Do lead the way Mindwipe. We wouldn't want to waste any time, now would we?"

Cutthroat grinned at the promise of slaughter.

"You know I am hard to satisfy Hun-Grrr. Although, if the promise is not kept I am sure I can still get my share of slaughter one way or another.

He looked towards Mindwipe and chuckled disturbingly.

Moving into their den after Mindwipe and the others, Rippersnapper made his way around to stand by Hun-Grrr. However, not so close that he might irritate him, but enough to catch a glimpse of Mindwipe before Hun-Grrr tore him apart. The thought brought a wide, toothy grin to the terrorists’ face. It faded, however, when his commander placed his arm around the sniveling intruder. He had so hoped to be part of his dismemberment, but alas it did not seem to be meant to be.

Not this time, anyway.

Rippersnapper fell in behind Mindwipe and Hun-Grrr as they made for the door. Perhaps when their mission was over with they could rend the hypnotist. Another toothy grin at the assumption and Rippersnapper was more than happy to get to it.

Mindwipe had to choke back some of the acidic, oily bile that was building up in his vocalizer region. Being so close to potentially imminent dismemberment and death did not suit itself to one's internal lubrication systems.

Cutthroat's comment would have normally elicited an icy stare--and perhaps something more potent to go along with it--from the Decepticon hypnotist. But he was so severely outmatched in these environs that even one out of place action or phrase could well cost him his spark.

The meager offering that he had laid before Hungrr seemed to do the trick and at least bought him a few moments more as the Terrorcon commander considered his words and after a stressfully long consideration period, seemed content not to kill the messenger.

"Of course, mighty Hungrrr. With all haste," Mindwipe said, already having allocated the shuttle that would be employed when he had made the initial discovery along with Scorponok. Sensing that Rippersnapper was already fast on their heels and would likely be followed closely by the rest, Mindwipe went about making the other contact that he knew would be critical to this operation. The Terrorcons would be fine--ideal, even--for defense. But in order to appreciate the true gravity of what they had found, they would need the perspective of another. Capable though Mindwipe was in this arena, even he respected the skills of this Decepticon.

>>"Cipher--Mindwipe. I'm transmitting access to the preliminary data regarding a Cybertronian edifice we've discovered on the planet LV-117, provided Commander Scorponok has not already given it to you himself. He requests both of our direct assessments of the site and its value. I'm especially intrigued. I think you will be as well, given your particular talents. I've requisitioned a shuttle. Shall we rendezvous in the bay?"<<

As Mindwipe traveled down the corridor towards the primary shuttle bay, he thought about moving his pace just out of Hungrrr's reach. Feeling his talons so close to his own metallic skin did not fill him with any additional notions of security. He quickly thought better of it. Hungrr, for the moment was satisfied with what Mindwipe had offered. The others? Probably not so much.

Lower Level – Laboratory

Had one taken the time to actually look at the mess around the lab they would actually find that it was organized chaos, but none of the Decepticons had the patience to even think long enough to figure that out. At least that’s what the occupant felt.

Strewn over several desks, counters and boards were countless documents. All of which were written in some kind of language. The kind of language that only he could decode. At least that’s what he was told he would be doing. He hadn’t counted on being aboard Scorponok’s own flagship. That alone made the lanky mech more determined to get his work done as soon as possible.

It did not take him long to decode the first documents, and it would not take him much longer to finish the rest. Once he finished he could actually take some time and get a full recharge, something he had not done in quite some time.

“Heh. You were not so deceptive after all, now were you? No, I found out exactly what you were trying to hide from me. Nothing gets past me.”

Cipher’s mumbling grew silent as he received a communique from the resident hypnotist. What could Mindwipe possibly want? The thought faded as he listened intently to what was said.

With a glint in his optics and a smile on his face, Cipher stood from his stool he and quickly, and enthusiastically, responded to the message.

>>”Cybertronian edifice you say? I am intrigued. Quit intrigued, indeed. Yes, yes. I’ll meet you in the bay. In fact I’m leaving my lab now.”<<

Cipher grabbed a handful of documents and datapads he deemed would be useful and swiftly made his way out of his lab. He stopped, however, and turned back around. The slim mech moved back to the door and accessed the keypad next to it. Carefully the scientist entered the highly encrypted security code and waited until he heard the door audibly lock. He had spent far too long acquiring the scripts from the Hall of Records on Cybertron, he’d be damned if he’d let anything happen to them now.

Satisfied that his most prized possessions were safe, Cipher hurried toward the shuttle bay to meet Mindwipe.

Shuttle Bay

It seemed the bait Mindwipe had dangled before the olfactory modules of the Terrorcon leader had been sufficiently enticing. A bit of a pity, from Sinnertwin’s perspective; he’d had his fuel pump set on wreaking some more than typically horrifying violence upon the interloper. Fortunately for all concerned—the sentry included—that had been a fleeting, impersonal fancy; a brief opportunity for diversion amid the usual, cycle-to-cycle routine of prowling the outskirts of the den. The prospect of a wild and dangerous new world to explore would satisfy that craving just as well as casual dismemberment.

Sinnertwin just hoped that whatever hostile native life-forms they found down there were suitably large. Small, skittering things made him uneasy.

The fetor and darkness of the Terrorcon Den soon gave way to the normal illumination and sterility that was more typical of the dreadnaught’s interior design. It was offensive to Sinnertwin’s keen senses, so much so that he transformed into his robot mode as the six Decepticons entered the shuttle bay. That form was better suited to the inside of a small transport craft, anyway.

“Why don’t we just bounce to the surface?” he demanded, already impatient for something to do. “Shuttle takes too long. Too cramped. I want to get to the killing and the treasure now.”

Blot, with his head cocked to one side in the manner of a predator observing its prey, watched curiously as Mindwipe revealed the reason for his visit. And enjoyed how much effort it took the hypnotist Decepticon to not balk under the palpable violence that emanated from Blot's brethren.

Hun-Grrr seemed satisfied with the incentive he had been offered, so that violence would not be unleashed upon Mindwipe. Not for the time being, anyhow.

The promise of stashing up even greater hauls of energy reserves and other non-monetary currencies was always intriguing to any Terrorcon. Especially, if something came their way that they could disembowel, maim and chop up while at it. Their intended destination would, apparently, deliver on both accounts.

Blot threw away the bone he was gnawing on and slouched after the other Terrorcons, following them out of their den. For now, he was mindless of transforming back to his mech mode, but made sure he crossed before Mindwipe every few steps. When he did, Blot left smears of dead oil and lubricant leaked from his own loose joints and improperly sealed ports behind, in hopes that Mindwipe would slip, lose his footing, stumble into one of his unkind escort detail inviting a good measure of inconvenience, or just fall on his face as he stepped on them. Or at the very least, wince in pain as his olfactory sensors were assaulted by the foul stench of the grime.

>>"Excellent. I'll see you soon,"<< Mindwipe quickly commed back to Cipher, pleased that the Decepticon scientist seemed as intrigued with the potential that lay in front of them as Mindwipe himself was.

Accessing one of the bay control panels, Mindwipe began activating the preliminary functions of the drop ship, bringing it online and opening the small bay doors. Hopefully Hungrr would fit comfortably in such meager accommodations.

When Sinnertwin growled out his question, Mindwipe froze a little inside once more. Primus, he hated this feeling. For a dark moment, he considered allowing the Terrorcon to do exactly as he wanted and suffer the likely consequences. It would have been a death sentence for him as well though.

"N-No, we can't do that. There's....um....some sort of radiation belt surrounding this world. It's not something that even I really understand, but Lord Scorponok does. You try to bounce down there and...and....well, let's just say that what you end up with down there might not be as structured as what you started with up here. Safer to use a dropship, but even that will pose some risk. This world......it was clearly chosen for a reason."

Mindwipe stopped speaking as the hum of the dropship's engines began to slowly fill the room.

Shuttle Bay

Along the way to his destination Cipher had lost a few crucial datapads and slugs requiring him to stop more than once in order to backtrack and retrieve them. He cursed more times than usual, but no one would even know what was said. After all he spoke, read, and occasionally wrote in all forms of ancient Cybertronian dialect. Something not common amongst the Decepticon faction.

He was still fidgeting with his burden when he finally entered the shuttle bay. His attention, as usual was not on the mechs who were already present, but with his equipment and research. He absently addressed the one mech he knew that was already in the bay. Mindwipe.

“I do hope we are able to uncover as much as possible. I would hate to get down there and be called back up for some minor…”

His rambling ceased when he finally looked up at the hypnotist. Behind Mindwipe stood the Terrorcons. Commander Scorponok’s go to team when muscle was a requirement. Cipher’s jaw dropped open as he stared up at Hun-Grrr and the others. He was unable to even form anything coherent until finally a low ancient Cybertronian curse escaped his vocalizer.

The scientist moved quickly to Mindwipe’s side, his optics still locked on the Terrorcon commander and his minions. He leaned in close to the hypnotist and whispered in his audio, hoping to Primus the fearsome ‘Cons behind them would not hear.

“The Terrorcons? What in the pit is down there that would require them to be sent along?”

It finally made sense to Hun-Grrr. The use of a dropship. The deployment of his team of murderous sociopaths. Whoever was behind what they were seeking had gone to great lengths to make sure that no one would even come to explore the planet. It was only logical that this philosophy would be present on the surface of the planet as well. This mission had a potential of becoming a challenge and the 'Terrorcon' relished on challenges. However, it meant that his team had to be kept in line far more strictly than usual. It also meant that both Cipher and Mindwipe had to be kept alive or there was no way for them to find their target or interpret its possible value. Thus, priorities had to be established.

"Blot. Keep Cipher and Mindwipe alive and functional. Even if it means using lethal force." Hun-Grrr commanded. The statement was a clear warning to the other Terrorcons. The fearless and unquestionably loyal Blot would now dedicate himself on protecting both Cipher and Mindwipe. Even if it meant he'd have to kill another Terrorcon. It would not even be a first time. Of these four, only Blot had been there from the beginning. And despite the ferocity of the other Terrorcons, none of them had such indomitable courage the brutish Blot possessed. Even Cutthroat knew better than engaging in mortal combat with Blot. Not that it meant he wouldn't pick a fight with Blot - he'd just turn his tail before it became too late for him.

"Rippersnapper. Pilot." Hun-Grrr barked out an order and pulled himself into the dropship. Sitting down on one of benches bolted into the shuttle frame, Hun-Grrr's gaze fell on the two Terrorcons that had followed him into the dropship.

"Sinnertwin. You know what to do."

It was another example of precautions Hun-Grrr was often forced to take when their missions involved other Decepticons or equipment like the dropship they needed. The line has been said often enough. If Sinnertwin would not restrain Cutthroat soon, there was no telling when merciless savage would start slashing the dropship into ribbons out of boredom. The task also kept Sinnertwin from doing the same. While perfectly capable of doing all this himself, Hun-Grrr found it far more amusing making his team to police each other.

"So Mindwipe... LV-117. Tell me more."

Mindwipe could scarcely contain the relief he experienced at witnessing Cipher's arrival. Another like mind. One that would be focused on unraveling the mystery behind whatever it was that they had found here--not waiting for the first opportunity to find Mindwipe alone in a dark room and make a meal out of him.

Or worse.

Well, no, Mindwipe supposed becoming a meal probably was the worst possible outcome of this whole scenario. Thankfully Hungrrr seemed to be of a mind to ensure their survival. For now.

"Whatever it is, or was, it is decidedly old. I'm curious to explore it. But you, well, such things were made for you," Mindwipe whispered in return. "The planet however--at least from what Scorponok has shown me thus far--was made for them. If the two of us were to go down there alone, we would not return. I am convinced of that."

Mindwipe moved to board the ship. He wanted to absorb as much information about the planet as was conceivably possible inbetween now and their arrival on the surface, and with Hungrrr taking the necessary steps to ensure they all got their in one piece--in every imaginable way--Mindwipe was relatively certain he could get some research done. Cipher would surely relish the opportunity as well.

Hungrrr's words interrupted Mindwipe's pleasant musings, but only briefly. Motioning for both he and Cipher to follow, he walked over to one of the small, interior terminals. In a ship of this size it was not much, but it was something.

"Come. I'll show you both what Lord Scorponok has shown me."
