[CLOSED] Cas Coller - Alpha Shipyards - Grimlock's Four

The noose around Fortress Maximus' neck tightens. Will the Decepticon 2nd fleet led by mighty Scorponok finally subjugate their old nemesis? And if they do, what will be the fate of the Autobot resistance?

Getting back to the bridge was fine by Snarl. Until they got back to the front lines, the bridge would be where all the action was. He'd rather be stationed there than some random hallway making sure there were no additional stowaways on board. If there were, Snarl would dare them to show their face.

"Snarl, take security. First lock down bridge then monitor all activity on ship. Sludge, um, just sit somewhere and don’t break anything."

Snarl grumbled an affirmative acknowledgement of Grimlock's orders and lumbered his way over to his station on the bridge, jacking in like the little Autobot tour guide from before had demonstrated. Within an instant, the entire layout of the ship opened itself up to Snarl's HUD. It really was like he was a part of it. It would take some getting used to, that's for sure.

"Me see ship. All of ship. Nothing bad getting through. Nothing from station in pursuit."

He then proceeded to lock down the bridge, just as Grimlock had ordered. A few thoughts, an optical shift from one direction to another and the job was done without even the slightest movement from his limbs. Easy enough.

The Trion – Bridge

For once Slag had followed alongside the Dinobot Commander without so much as a grunt. Maybe it was the inevitability of the upcoming battle. Maybe it was the excitement of acquiring this new state of the art war vessel. Who was he kidding, it was definitely the battle.

Slag smirked as the group filed onto the bridge.

No one stood in their way…who would be stupid enough to do so anyway, so their trek from engineering to their destination was quick.

“Slag, weapons systems is yours. Keep lookout for any ships that may try follow us.”

Slag was snapped out of his musings when he caught the distinct voice of Grimlock. He gave the Commander a nod and made his way to the weapons station where he flopped down. His optics ran the expanse of the station before coming to a halt on the interface array. His lip curled up slightly before he raised his arms.

He still had some misgivings about connecting directly to a ship. Slag shrugged as he grumbled lowly.

Slowly he slid his arms into the openings and made contact. Instantly his HUD was bombarded with readings from the weapons storage compartments to the amount of small ordinance on board. It was a dream come true knowing anything and everything about their weapon capabilities. “I shoulda done this a long time ago. Hehe.” The flamethrower mumbled to himself.

The Trion – Medical Bay

Pharma let out a low groan as he rubbed his head and sat up. The sudden violent movements due to the explosion had knocked the mech out and somehow sealed him with in the quarantine room.

He took a look around taking note of the mess through the small room he was lock in and the outside medical bay.

With his fingertips he rubbed small laceration at his temple. Nothing detrimental but it had knocked him unconscious. Pharma checked the flow of energon noting that it had already begun to lighten.

With a grunt he got to his feet and headed to the door’s keypad. It was locked. Without hesitation he removed the plate and started to work on freeing himself so he could find out what the hell was going on.

Snarl do this, Snarl do that. He hated being couped up on these ships, no matter how big they were. They made him grumpy. He was a desert warrior, not a closet warrior. He could not wait to get to Earth, even if it meant remaining in this awful ‘dino’ altmode of his, as at least there he could get some action!

Had he not been fully interfaced with the comms network monitoring the security, he’d have drummed his giant fingers on the panel in tedium. It’s a good thing we was fully integrated though, his boredom and distraction had meant that the small alert flicker that showed a security panel was being tampered with in the medical bay went unnoticed for a few seconds, but it’s annoying insistence finally snapped him out of his daydream. Looks like there is someone still in it the medical bay, better give the boss a shout.

>>Grimlock? You told me, Snarl, to take security. Still nothing from space, but show tamper alert in Medbay. Want me or Sludge to go look?<<

Grimlock tapped his actuators impatiently on the armrest as he leaned back in the command chair and kept his optics focused on the primary view screen at the head of the bridge. The stars streaked by them at an alarming rate. However, while the most difficult part of this entire journey was now behind them, they still had a ways to go before they arrived back in the Sol System. The Dinobot Commander nodded his understanding to Swoop as the pilot informed him of that very fact.

“Understood,” the rex-former replied with a growl as the rest of his unit had already settled in to their respective stations. Slag was becoming adjusted to the new interface, muttering to himself in the process, while Snarl was doing the same at the security console before quickly alerting Grimlock that he could see the entire ship and that nothing from the shipyards was yet in pursuit. “Good, Snarl. Me not put it past Countdown to send someone to chase us eventually. Keep close optic on our afts.”

With his order given, boredom was once again beginning to take hold. The Dinobots had been away from battle for far too long and many of them were getting more than just a bit agitated as a result. Now, they were yet again faced with a period of downtime, much like they had experienced back at the shipyards before their little encounter with the saboteur. At least that had been some excitement if not a full blown battle. There had also been the fun in the station’s large training facility, but the Dinobots' thirst for combat could only be quenched for so long against an army of simple drones and auto-guns. They needed a real enemy. They needed to face the Decepticons on the battlefield. Unfortunately, they would have to wait for just a little while longer.

Grimlock was soon brought out of his musings when the Desert Warrior spoke up again, warning the rex-former that there appeared to be someone tampering with the systems down in the med bay and asking if he should go look. Could it be another Decepticon saboteur or was it just some ‘bot who didn’t comprehend the order to evacuate and had gotten stuck on board when the Dinobots made their hasty exit from the shipyards? It was likely the latter, but a warrior could dream.

“Mmmm...” Grimlock grunted before turning around in the command chair to face Snarl. “We definitely not only ones on board. Sensors confirmed before that some other ‘bots didn’t get out in time or didn’t understand when me tell them to get off ship. But, tampering with med bay is suspicious. Can’t take risk of another ‘Con saboteur doing damage to Trion. Permission granted. Go down and check it out. Take Sludge with you. If it is another spy, disable and secure him in the brig if possible. If just another ‘bot, find out why he tampering with med bay, then report findings back to me.”

The Dinobot Commander kept his optics fixated on the Desert Warrior. Snarl had been a bit of a thorn in his side ever since the Dinobots were reawakened in the place known as Area 51 back on Sol-3. It was Grimlock’s lust for revenge against Shockwave many vorns ago that had led them all into stasis lock for so long and ultimately into the custody of the humans. Being trapped under a river of molten lava had not been pleasant, and it was something the solar-powered mech previously made clear that he would not soon forget, even going as far as questioning some of Grimlock’s orders and motives. Snarl’s attitude towards him had gotten better during their recent excursion to Cas Coller, but nevertheless it was still something that concerned the rex-former. The last thing Grimlock needed right now was someone second guessing his every move. After all, he would get plenty of grief from Prowl once they finally reached that mudball called Earth.

Stupid prick-bot.

While Grimlock have everyone else something meaningful to do, Sludge was just tasked with not breaking anything. Sludge was strangely humbled to be given such a task from their commander, it meant he didn't have to worry about any sort of responsibilities except keeping to himself, a skill he had mastered for eons. Sludge sat in one of the chair that was adjacent to a variety of different consoles he could have integrated himself into like his fellow Dinobots were currently partaking in. Instead Sludge leaned back in the chair at took note at how comfy it felt. Screw the advanced weapon systems, this chair was extremely comfortable.

The jungle warriors dim audio receptors perked up when he overheard Snarl mentioning his name. What could that spiny grump want now?

"...Take Sludge with you. If it is another spy, disable and secure him in the brig if possible. If just another ‘bot, find out why he tampering with med bay, then report findings back to me."

Oh, That's why. Well if Grimlock said to go, guess that's enough reasoning Sludge would ever need to fulfill any sort of task needed. Although he still wished he could remain up in the bridge and relish his time in this most comfortable of seating devices.

"Okay, signal is coming from the...Med-Bay, right?" The long-necked Dinobot asked shortly after rising from his cushiony throne and making his way towards the door, only to stand in the doorway and look back towards their commander. Well, if not, he could just follow behind Snarl, he looked like he knew where to go.

And there it was. That annoying stare as Grimlock addressed him. For a mech without much of a face, their leader sure was... annoying. Still, he was the boss and at least this order wouldn't get them trapped in dirt for a few thousand years. Probably. Knowing his luck it would and then it would be all Grimlock's fault. Again.

Snarl disengaged himself from the security terminal and with a grunt of acknowledgment wordlessly traipsed across the room towards Sludge, who was very efficiently blocking the Doorway. Gently but firmly moving his teammate aside he stepped through. It was then that he realised he wasn't actually sure how to get to Medbay, but he was damned if he would let Grimlock know that.

“Me, Snarl say Medbay is this way” he said, knowingly, even though it was a guess. It was kinda in the direction the security map has said.

Out of sight of the door, he set off at a brisk pace down the main corridor which, more by accident than design, was in the right direction. “Grimlock said no guns inside, so we use swords instead, right?” he asked Sludge as he slowed down to allow the lumbering mech to keep up. “Me hopes its Decepticons, Snarl needs good fight to forget being couped up on ship.”

And with that last grumble, he reached the Turbolifts and looked for the button that said ‘Medbay’.

“Come on! Me wants to see who is making nuisance of themself!”

Snarl had wasted no enough, and packed loads of enthusiasm to get up and walk about the ship a bit. Sludge shared in his fellow Dinobot's eagerness, though while the desert warrior was mainly up to doing the task in hopes he could locate a Decepticon or two to get his lust for smashing them satisfied, the apatosaurus-former was in it for the peaceful stroll around such an impressively massive feat of Autobot engineering.

Following the spinier Dinobot into the turbo lift, Sludge took a gander at the various amount of buttons displayed on the console. He pressed knuckle of his index finger to his lips as he scanned over the various levels that were displayed in front of him.

"Med...bay... Meeeed...bay..." Sludge pondered as he squinted at the board with narrowed optics. "Says med bay is on Deck G... And we are on Deck... C!" Sludge then shifted his massively chunky digits to the controls and attempted to press the 'G' key infront of him, only to also press the D, E, and F keys as well thanks to his rather fat fingers.

"Oh uh... Oops."

Snarl’s shoulders slumped as the lift stopped at the next floor down. At the next he rested his head back in exasperation, and by the third he had rolled his head forwards again and was banging it against the wall of the lift.

The doors finally swished open on Floor G. “Thanks Sludge. No, Snarl really mean it...” he said with what might possibly be regarded as a mocking tone, and began the long trudge down the labyrinth of corridors to the Medical Bay. He equipped his sword, hoping for the chance to use it, but thought it unlikely that even Decepticon spies would be stupid enough to give their location away that easily. Then he remembered the last spy they had encountered and chuckled, swinging his sword in mock battle poses.

He stomped down the hallway, happy to be away from Grimlock’s glare, but still feeling trapped and uncomfortable in the confines of the ship. “Sludge, where we going to in end? We been on this ship for long time.” He asked his slower jungle-warrior buddy, more to cut through the silence broken only by their footsteps than anything else.

Eventually, after getting them lost at least three times although never admitting it, they arrived at the medical bay doors, still sealed from the ship-wide lockdown in effect. He located the access panel and attempted to enter the override codes. Then he tried again. The panel stubbornly remained unresponsive and dark, and after a half dozen more failed attempts he gave up and slammed it with a massive fist. The screen shattered under the blow and began to emit smoke, crackling as its connections were severed, and Snarl tore out the unit to see what was wrong. “Here, sludge catch!” he called playfully as he tossed the dead chunk of metal to the huge Apatosaurus.

“Looks like Snarl going to have to do this the fun way” he announced, before banging on the door with the hilt of his blade and yelling through as a crude form of warning. “Whoever in Medbay, Grimlock says this his ship now. Told me to come get you!”
He loudly stamped a handful of obvious paces backwards. “Me hope that’s a Decepticon in there, Snarl needs good fight to loosen up” he joked to Sludge and rolled his shoulders to get the energon pumping. With a mischievous grin he also powered up his solar energy array in the rebellious hope he could find an excuse to ignore Grimlock’s instruction not to use it indoors. “Ready?” he said to his giant partner and, not waiting for a response, he rammed his shoulder into the door at speed, smashing the central join of the twin doors apart enough to grip each edge with his huge arms and force them apart using brute strength. The hydraulics groaned for the briefest of seconds and shot open, catapulting the unexpecting Stegosaurus into the room, forcing the battle hardened Dinobot to roll with the fall, but that was not going to stop the mighty desert warrior Snarl when there was a fight to be had! He came up with sword in hand and gun the other, prepared for any threat that might be hiding in the darkness...

And there was nothing.
The room was well lit, tidy, and at first glance empty apart from the usual ‘medbay’ equipment.

“Hmmm. Me not been shot yet” he mused aloud and patting himself down to be sure, began to scan the room more carefully. “Where are you Decepticon? where are you hidin- ...who are you?” he exclaimed, spotting Pharma for the first time.

“Why you here on Grimlock’s ship?”

Bored. That was the one word that adequately described the mighty Grimlock at the present moment in time. The Dinobot Commander sat quietly in the captain’s chair with his chin guard resting in the propped up palm of his left hand while he drummed the digits of his right hand on the arm rest. He let out a deep sigh as he continued to watch the stars through the forward window fly by as bright streaks of light within the transwarp tunnel. It had an almost hypnotic effect to be sure. Thankfully, they would soon arrive back in the Sol System with the most technologically advanced ship of the Autobot fleet. The Trion would even the balance of power on that backwater planet called Earth, providing a formidable challenger to the Decepticon battle cruiser, Thanatos. The vile Predacons had their warship to terrorize their enemies and now the Dinobots had their own, as well.

Of course, they had to reach Earth first. This trip was taking much longer than Grimlock had anticipated. For such an advanced vessel, one would think that the Trion could traverse through transwarp at a little faster speed than a normal ship. It didn't matter. The Dinobots would arrive soon enough and then the fun would really begin. Naturally, explanations would have to be given to Autobot Command, namely Prowl, but ultimately he would be made to see the great advantages of what the rex-former and his squad had done. Bringing a warship such as the Trion to Earth could only benefit the Autobot presence there in both the short and long term. The Dinobots would be forgiven for their transgressions as how the ship was procured was not as important as the positive results that would follow.

Grimlock didn’t care what Prowl thought or any of the other Autobots for that matter. They were all weaklings in comparison to him and his Dinobots. Even the Wreckers fit that bill. They were no match for the Dinobots, either. They never were and they never would be. The Wreckers were puppets whose group changed members more than the amount of words that came out of Bluestreak’s voice box. The Dinobots, on the other hand, had the exact same mechs they’ve always had. That fact alone was a sign of real warriors who not only knew how to fight but how to survive, as well.

Grimlock then shifted his massive bulk within the command chair, bringing both hands together in front of him. He interlaced his actuators as his thoughts drifted to a pair of his subordinates. The rex-former had dispatched both Snarl and Sludge down to the medical bay several breems ago to check and see if someone was tampering with the systems. It was possibly another Decepticon saboteur or maybe just some mech who had ignored the Dinobot Commander's orders and remained behind on the ship before its abrupt departure from Cas Coller. Either way, it needed to be addressed to avoid any further problems.

Becoming impatient for an update, Grimlock opened a comm line to the Desert and Jungle Warriors:

>>”Snarl, Sludge, we arrive in Sol System soon. Did you find anybody in med bay? What going on down there? Report!”<<

Sludge follows behind Snarl as the desert warrior equipped his energo-sword and led the way through floor G. The behemoth Autobot was about to advice caution to his fellow Dinobot, fearing Grimlock might become angry with them if anything on the ship were to break after having just left the dry-dock. Oh well, Sludge could just blame it on Snarl, he was the one carrying the sword.

"Sludge, where we going to in end? We been on this ship for long time."

"Hopefully back to Earph. Earthath... Yearth? Place where we left from before..." Sludge spat out in response to the spiny Dinobot's inquiry.

"Here, sludge catch!"

Sludge turned his head back towards where Snarl was standing after becoming distracted by the various lights and gizmos that illuminated their path. The metallic slab that was once a door panel bounced off Sludge's chest playing before it fell into his palms.

"Gah! Snarl! We broke Grimlock's ship! We- You- Snarl why you not use the buttons?!" Sludge's attempts to get a response from Snarl were effortless as he set the smoldering door panel door at the sound of his fellow Dinobot crashing through the door to the Med Bay. The jungle warrior popped his processor through the split doorway to find Snarl confronting a familiar looking mech.

"Hey, we know you! Pharmacy! Er... Pharma! Yes, what are you doing on commander Grimlock's ship? Are there any more hiders you know of hiding away onboard?" The red and black jungle warrior was not granted a proper response as their commander was calling them to check up on their status.

>>"This is Sludge; We managed to find Doctor-bot from the space station down in the Med Bay. He seems all by himself but we probably need to check rest of ship to be safe."<<

"You sure are lucky you are not a Decepticon, Doctor Pharm. Snarl probably would have diced you up like cesium salami."

"Still might." Snarl responded. His sword was the direct representation is his dislike, and right now Pharma represented Earth. Grimlock was lucky he'd only destroyed an entry panel and doorway on his way down.

He processed Grimlocks transmission. "...Sol system?!? Ugh." He grumbled to Sludge. "Why we always end up there?"

It was an strange dichotomy; a solar powered transformer hating the planet that gave him his incredible levels of strength due to its proximity to its star, but the creatures and the foliage and the moisture and the endless primitive nature of that proto-rock irritated him. Mind you, everything irritated Snarl - it was the reason he was named Snarl - he existed in a constant state of degrees of irritation. Going back to the pit they had spent forever trapped under just ratcheted it up a notch or six.

He looked back down at Pharma, trying to establish whether his continued silence was through defiance, fear or just simple mindedness but he lowered his sword anyway, there was no possible way a tiny mech like Pharma could be a threat. "What we do with you now then, huh?"

After a few seconds clunking thought he established that it wasn't his problem and their 'leader' could decide.

>>>Grimlock, we found intruder like you said. What you want done with him?<<<

Pharma had nearly gotten the door to quarantine room open when he noticed the main door to the med bay being forced apart. He grew nervous wondering if the potential intruder was some kind of homicidal maniac trying to find a hiding place. Or perhaps some stowaway-convict hell bent on making some kind of grand escape from…from…whoever! Hey, it could happen.

And there they were. Snarl and Sludge. Two Dinobots. Perfect! He was right. Two homicidal maniacs had just forced their way into his med bay.

Pharma pulled away from the door to the quarantine room when the hulking mechs made their way completely into the med bay proper. Snarl was already prepared for a confrontation; his sword and gun were at the ready. Wonderful. These two are going to kill me.

Both Dinobots spotted him and made their way over to the small enclosure. They started to address him but he couldn’t hear a word they were saying.

The doctor grimaced as he watched them try to speak to him. When he realized they had no clue that the room was soundproof he got annoyed and pointed to his audios and shook his head. “I can’t hear a word you’re saying.” He sighed heavily realizing they couldn’t hear him either.

Pharma gestured with one figure hoping they’d wait a few more minutes so he could get out of the room.

He went back to the panel and finally got the damn thing to work. The door slid open with a loud hiss and Pharma stepped out, a scowl on his face as he looked up at the two warriors.

“Now, can either of you tell me what the slag is going on? Why are you two here? And what caused that explosion?” He looked from Snarl to Sludge and back to Snarl again as he waited for an explanation.

"...Slag? He not here," the dim-witted stegosaurus scrunched up his face in concentration - or rather the effort of it. "Slag with Grimlock. Me Snarl, him Sludge." he over emphasised the names to help ensure the medic didn't get them confused again.

"Explosion was Decepticon saboteur, but Slag killed him I think." He thought again for a second. "Might have been Autobots shooting us when we stole ship, don't know, was too busy finding Decepticons. Did they shoot as us Sludge? Snarl wasn't watching Autobots..."

He turned his attention back to Pharma. "We do know Grimlock will want to see you. This his ship now."

Grimlock let out a low groan when he finally heard back from Sludge and Snarl. They had found the intruder who turned out to be a doctor from the Alpha shipyards. Yeah, that really told him a whole lot. Which doctor were they referring to? There had likely been more than one stationed at a place the size of Cas Coller and even if there was only a single doctor, the Dinobot Commander had no idea who it was. Although, one medical 'bot was pretty much like all the rest. They were healers for the most part and usually posed no real threat to anyone, especially other Autobots. Still, if it was a high ranking medic, like a CMO, they may ask more questions than others and might cause problems nevertheless. The Dinobots hadn’t come this far to be thwarted by a fraggin’ doctor.

>>"Stand by."<< Grimlock commed back to his subordinates in the med bay before maneuvering both of his hands into position over the arms of his command chair. The rex-former then placed them into the interface ports on the sides of each arm and within astroseconds his mind was whisked into the warship’s computer system.

The Trion - Virtual Computer Network

Floating inside of a virtual computer simulation, the Dinobot Commander quickly combed his way through a variety of files and data streams until he finally accessed the live security feeds from the medical bay. There he saw Snarl and Sludge along with the Autobot doctor in question. Grimlock quickly recognized who it was as Pharma, a high ranking Autobot CMO. Instantly, he pulled up the doctor’s current profile and found that he had been most recently stationed on Cas Coller. Made perfect sense, and it was as Grimlock had feared. Pharma was a medical officer who would ask too many questions that Sludge would definitely not have the answers to and Snarl would likely become agitated by. The rex-former needed to handle this himself to ensure the mission remained uncompromised.

At first, Grimlock considered pulling out of the virtual simulation and physically heading down to the medical bay, himself. However, upon closer inspection within the warship’s internal comm system, he realized that would not be necessary as the Trion possessed highly advanced holographic projections and displays that could be utilized as a means of communicating more directly. Other big ships had a similar feature, but this one appeared very different and far more advanced than anything seen before. Most holographic communications simply projected a mech’s image to another location, but their consciousness remained where their body actually was and they just watched holograms of who they were speaking with. On the Trion, however, the mind actually went with the hologram, making a mech feel like they were actually in a different location from their real body.

Intriguing, Grimlock thought to himself as he cautiously accessed the holographic comm system, not knowing what to really expect. After a few mental commands were sent through, the image of the medical facility expanded and surrounded him while simultaneously projecting his own image into the actual med bay proper.

The Trion - Medical Bay

One of the holographic emitters mounted in the ceiling quickly activated and projected the life-sized image of Grimlock into the center of the room a short distance in front of where Pharma stood. Snarl and Sludge were positioned behind the Dinobot Commander, whose image seemed real and almost solid. A slight shimmering cascaded across the hologram, making it clear to everyone present that the rex-former was not really there.

To Grimlock, however, he was there. At least, he felt like he was there. He looked down at himself and then around at the others in the room. It was a surreal experience to be sure. Technically, his mind was still inside the computer system surrounded by a real time simulation of the med bay while his image was projected here for Snarl, Sludge and Pharma to interact with. It was highly advanced and would be hard for most to understand, but it didn’t matter to Grimlock. As far as he was concerned, the Dinobot Commander was in the med bay even if his physical body was still on the bridge.

“Sorry for sudden appearance. Me still getting used to Trion’s advanced systems,” Grimlock’s hologram stated as his gaze settled onto Pharma. “You know who I am? Me, Grimlock, leader of Dinobots. This ship ours now. We commandeered it back at shipyards just after Decepticon spy tried to sabotage it. We now on our way to Sol System to meet back up with other ‘bots. Trion needed to help defeat ‘cons there or anywhere for that matter.”

Grimlock paused for a moment to let what he said sink in, his holographic body flickering slightly. “You were supposed to evacuate with other ‘bots. Why you still here, Pharma? What happened?”

Trion – Medical Bay

"...Slag? He not here," Snarl said.

Pharma simply stared in awe at the larger Autobot’s unadulterated idiocy. How? Just….how? The CMO ran his hand down the length of his face a heavy muffled sigh emanating from his vocalizer.

"Explosion was Decepticon saboteur, but Slag killed him I think."

Pharma’s hand slowly fell to his side. Both Snarl and Sludge, from what the doctor could gather, were on board the Trion when someone tried to sabotage the ship. Made sense…sort of. Pharma’s face scrunched up slightly as he looked from one Dinobot to the other.

Things started to get a bit bothersome from there on out.

"Might have been Autobots shooting us when we stole ship, don't know, was too busy finding Decepticons. Did they shoot as us Sludge? Snarl wasn't watching Autobots..." Snarl looked at Pharma. "We do know Grimlock will want to see you. This his ship now."

Pharma raided both hands to his temples and shut down his optics. He shook his head minutely as he extended his hands out hushing both warriors. “Wait, wait, wait! Slow down. You’re giving me a headache!” He onlined his optics and stared hard at both imposing mechs.

This was ridiculous. Of all the mechs to have stolen the Trion it had to be Grimlock and his four senseless followers. Why me. And why would Grimlock want to see me? Pharma mused. He was obviously not part of the Commander’s grand plan so figuring out what to do with him was probably a priority. Hopefully that won’t include doing away with Pharma permanently.

Pharma snorted. “I bet he does,” he grumbled crossing his arms over his chest.

“Sorry for sudden appearance. Me still getting used to Trion’s advanced systems," Grimlock’s hologram stated as his gaze settled onto Pharma.

The sudden sound of Grimlock’s voice started the doctor making him jump and turn around to face the now present virtual image of the Commander. Even as an imitation the figure was still as imposing as the real thing.

“You know who I am? Me, Grimlock, leader of Dinobots. This ship ours now. We commandeered it back at shipyards just after Decepticon spy tried to sabotage it. We now on our way to Sol System to meet back up with other ‘bots. Trion needed to help defeat ‘cons there or anywhere for that matter."

Pharma schooled his surprised expression into something more akin to annoyance. “I know who you are. These two…” he gestured to the two mechs standing behind the CGI Grimlock. “They said something about the Trion being your ship. Suppose you strong-armed it from Countdown.” He grunted lowly, but there was a hint of a smirk beneath the gruff expression.

“You were supposed to evacuate with other ‘bots. Why you still here, Pharma? What happened?"

For a just a brief moment Pharma stared at the Dinobot’s flickering image. He soon raised a hand to his forehead and rubbed it trying to rid himself of the impending cranial ache that was already creeping up.

“I never heard any evacuation orders. I happened to be in the quarantine room, which is soundproof. When that infernal explosion occurred I was knocked unconscious and one of the shelves in the room hit and shorted out the door’s lock.” The flier jerked a thumb over his shoulder at the quarantine room behind him.

“I was trying to open the door when these two….” He caught himself before making things worse. He shook his head before continuing. “Before Snarl and Sludge so graciously waltzed in and announced that you had commandeered this ship.” He glared up at Grimlock’s image narrowing his optics. “So you stole the Trion to take it to the Sol System in order to wipe out the Decepticons there. But I assume you weren’t expecting some undercover ‘Con to nearly blow your intentsions to the Pit…pun intended.” He pressed on.

“You didn’t have a plan when you got here. Well you did but it didn’t take into account several possibilities. That 'Con for one.” Pharma rubbed his chin. “Taking it to help in the Sol System. Why would you need the most sophisticated piece of Autobot tech in the Sol System?”

He didn’t let the Dinobot Commander answer. Instead a smile formed on Pharma’s face, and stepped closer to the CGI image.

“You know what I don’t care why you stole it or what you’re planning to do with it. All I want to know is where in the Sol System you’re taking it.”

The Trion - Medical Bay

Grimlock’s hologram shimmered in the center of the room as he listened to Pharma ramble on and on about numerous things, all of which indicated that he was clearly displeased with the current situation. Strong armed from Countdown? Hardly, but the Dinobot Commander had stolen the ship. That much was true. The CMO’s explanation for why he had not heard the call to evacuate was plausible enough if not a bit convenient. Still, it didn’t matter. The doctor was here now and they would all just have to adjust to it. If he wanted to leave later on and fly back to Cas Coller then so be it.

The rest of Pharma’s words hit a bit of a nerve receptor with Grimlock as the CMO seemed to be criticizing their lack of a real plan when obtaining the Trion. The doctor was lucky the Dinobot leader was not actually in the med bay as things could’ve gotten somewhat physical. As it were, Grimlock simply let out a low groan while Pharma finished speaking.

“Plan worked good enough. Trion ours now,” Grimlock’s hologram said, leaning forward slightly to meet Pharma’s gaze even more closely. “As for your last question, we go to Sol-3, a planet called Earth by fleshlings there.” The rex-former’s optics narrowed as he continued to stare directly into the CMO’s visage. “You may not like situation you in and that fine. You here now so deal with it. What we need ship for is our business. You doctor, me Grimlock, that all you need worry about.”

The CGI Grimlock then stood back to his full height before turning around to address his two Dinobot subordinates. “Snarl, Sludge, no need to check rest of Trion. Ship too big and take too long. We already know other ‘bots likely on board, as well. Sensors will tell us if they cause trouble. Just report back to bridge immediately. Ship should be almost to Sol-3 by now. Then real fun begins.”

And with those words spoken, the glowing image of Grimlock disappeared in a flicker of light as the hologram emitters in the ceiling shut down.

The Trion - Virtual Computer Network

The virtual reality of the medical facility retreated from around Grimlock’s floating form and shrunk back down into one of the many hovering screens that now surrounded him. The virtual hub of the computer network allowed the Dinobot Commander access to any system of the ship he wanted. So much data, so much knowledge, all right there for the taking. This ship was truly a wonder to behold, but Grimlock had no time to absorb such a vast array of information. It was getting to Sol-3 that preoccupied the rex-former’s mind now and then using the Trion to blast the Decepticons right off that little mudball of a planet. The Thanatos would be the first to suffer his prehistoric wrath, but other ‘Con warships would soon follow until there was nothing left of the enemy’s naval fleet but smoldering husks of space junk.

Grimlock pulled himself from his musings, realizing that he needed to return his mind to the bridge where his body still remained sitting in the command chair. Spending too much time in a simulated reality could have unintended side effects on the mind that were not yet known. The technology had it’s purpose, but it was still something that needed to be treated with caution and not be overused.

However, before the rex-former pulled himself out of the virtual computer network, he caught sight of one file window hovering not far from him. Upon closer inspection, Grimlock realized that this ship held more secrets than he had initially realized and this one was a doozy. Tapping said file with his actuator caused it to open and surround him in another simulated environment. This time he found himself in another part of the Trion inside a vast chamber filled with hundreds of stasis pods. Walking over to the nearest one, Grimlock peered inside to see a blue and white mech in deep hibernation. He then looked into another and then another. Each pod contained an identical ‘bot, all sleeping soundly.

Autotroopers,” the Dinobot Commander muttered. “How interesting. Not only we bring warship back, but whole army, too. This should make prick-bot happy if nothing else.” Grimlock chuckled and with another mental command given he was whisked back into the virtual computer hub. Wasting no more time, the rex-former then vanished entirely from the system as his mind returned to his real body on the bridge.

Trion – Outside the Bridge

After waking up rather rudely from his recharge cycle in his quarters – rudely meaning pinged around his room like a bouncy ball – Swerve had been understandably confused. Some kinda explosion had rocked the ship and him. He didn’t remember too much before that. He’d been doing some work…got side-tract by somethings…got back to work…The last thing he did was take a little nap. Just a couple winks.

Then the explosion. And if that weren’t enough, the door to his room had been jammed. It had taken some clever finagling to get it open. And by clever finagling, he meant throwing practically everything at the door to get it open. Eventually, he’d managed to pry it open with one of his tools. Once outside, he’d quickly realized that they were on the move, which, you know. Weird. So he came over to the bridge to see what was up.

Swerve tried the doors to the bridge only to find that they wouldn’t open. What was up with this fraggin’ ship? Wasn’t it supposed to be on the cutting edge? Undaunted, the metallurgist began to beat his fist on the door. “Hey! Heeeeelllllllllooooooo?! Anybody home? Knock knock! Who’s drivin’ this crazy thing! C’mon, open up already! Hey! HEEEEEEEEY! What’s going on?! Someone! Anyone! Fill me in? Open the door maybe! Open says-a-me! No? Hey, c’mon! Open the fraggin’ door!” Swerve continued to beat on the door in his endless tirade. “Sharing is caring! So…share what’s going on! And maybe the bridge! Hey? HEEEEEEY!”

Trion - Bridge

Grimlock was back where he belonged - in his own body sitting in the command chair on the bridge of his new warship. His brief time inside the computer network had been an interesting one, allowing him to traverse the distances across the Trion almost instantaneously without having to actually leave his seat. It was certainly quicker than walking down to the med bay, himself, and he had even managed to uncover another secret the ship had been holding.

Autotroopers, the Dinobot Commander thought as a grin spread underneath his faceshield. Those would certainly come in handy to help even the odds once they arrived back in the Sol System. The only question was who exactly did they answer to? Prowl was the one who had originally created the Autotrooper program, so they would likely follow his direct orders and if he wasn’t around one of the other higher ups would command them. They would certainly not follow Grimlock without the military strategist’s authorization.

Furthermore, they couldn’t simply be reprogrammed like their Decepticon counterparts. Unlike Vehicons, who were barely sentient with only tiny spark fragments inside their chest cavities, Autotroopers were actual fully sentient Autobots possessing whole sparks who had volunteered to undergo the process of becoming an Autotrooper. Therefore, they could think for themselves like a regular mech and not be as easily manipulated. Vehicons were regarded by many as mere drones to be used as cannon fodder, but Autotroopers were not, having souls and individual personalities which made them far more dangerous and inventive on the battlefield.

Regardless of who they ultimately answered to, Grimlock knew that Prowl and the others within Autobot Command would make good use of their new army and the rex-former would get the credit for it. He’d better get credit for not just bringing the Autotroopers back but also the Trion, itself. Now, the Autobots would stand a much better chance at eradicating the Decepticon scourge that had invested the Sol System and the many systems beyond throughout the galaxy.

Grimlock’s thoughts were then interrupted by the sound of banging on the doors to the bridge. The Dinobot Commander swung around in his chair and regarded the doors with a slight tilt to his cranium. It couldn’t have been either Sludge or Snarl as the Desert Warrior would’ve know how to get back inside the secured bridge. And even if Sludge had somehow made it back by himself (not likely but stranger things had happened) his knocking would’ve been much louder not to mention slower. On top of all that, whomever this was found it necessary to try and shout through the thick double doors, allowing only muffled sounds to pass through the density of the doors’ armored plating.

Getting up from his chair, Grimlock made his way to the doors, not bothering to check the outward security feeds as any potential threat out there would stand no chance against his thick armored plating and sheer skill as a deadly warrior. Drawing out his energo sword, the rex-former unlocked the doors and watched as they slid apart in front of him. Standing before him was....nothing. There was no one in sight but and empty corridor stretching away from the bridge entrance. Grimlock looked to either side of the doorway and still saw nothing.

What the...? the Dinobot leader wondered as he lowered his sword slightly and rubbed his head. “Weird,” Grimlock muttered as he began to turn back around. He stopped suddenly at the sound of more banging, this time against his very own shinguards. Returning his attention to the outside corridor, the rex-former finally glanced down to find a very small white and red minibot right there staring up at him! Instinctively, Grimlock brought his sword to bare, but stopped himself from any further movements once he noticed the auto-brand on the minibot’s chassis. Ah, another straggler who had not gotten off the ship in time and was now wondering what was going on. Luckily, whomever this was didn’t look dangerous. Annoying, perhaps, but not dangerous.

Relaxing his sword again, Grimlock peered down at Swerve, allowing a slight growl to escape his vocalizer. “Who you and what you still doing on me ship?” If the rex-former had only known that the answer would be anything but short and simple he would’ve never even asked the question.

Trion – Bridge

Swerve backed away so fast when he saw the hostile raising of a sword. So fast, in fact, that he promptly tripped over himself and landed roughly on his aft. The doors had opened! Not that he had noticed immediately. His visor went wide as he stared up at the rather intimidating figure before him. Then he relaxed. Not a Decepticon. Phew.

“Grimlock? What are you doing here?! I thought you were off in the Sol System with Prime and them! Did they ask you to come over and get the Trion? I didn’t hear anything about that, and you know I hear a lot of stuff. Oh, and the name is Swerve! You know? Swerve? Well, I won’t hold it against you for not remembering me, big guy. I have one of those faces.”

Swerve leaned over to look past Grimlock and at the bridge. “Got your whole Dinobot squad with you? I don’t see Snarl or Sludge. Hey! Almost forgot. Tell me something. What was with that…boom earlier? I was having a nice little recharge cycle when bam! I’m suddenly ricocheting around my room like unsecured cargo! Got the door to my suite stuck too. Ugh, took ages to pry that thing open.”

Swerve scampered past Grimlock onto bridge and looked at the outer view screen with his hands on his hips. “Where we going anyway?”

Trion - Bridge

This Swerve character was a fast talker. So fast, in fact, it was hard to keep up with all of the questions and almost impossible to get in an answer or two. Grimlock simply sighed and rubbed his cranial unit with his free hand as he lowered his energo sword completely down with his right. This minibot was definitely annoying, but he was no real threat to anyone, except maybe himself if he kept up his antics. The Dinobot Commander was able to keep relative control of his temperament, but there were others on his team that could not, namely Slag, who was still situated on the bridge.

“Mmmm...you have one of them voices, too,” Grimlock muttered under his breath just as Swerve scampered past him and onto the bridge, itself. The rex-former hadn’t even noticed yet, now rubbing both optics with his actuators. When he removed his hand from his faceplate and glanced down again, the red and white mech was gone. At first, Grimlock thought maybe the minibot had decided to leave, but that was wishful thinking as Swerve’s voice suddenly came from behind him almost like a cyber-nat buzzing in his audio receptor.

“What?!” Grimlock exclaimed, surprised, as he spun around to see Swerve over by the outer view screen, still asking questions. With a guttural growl emanating from his vocalizer, the Dinobot leader stomped over to where the tiny minibot stood as the bridge doors slid shut behind him. Standing tall over Swerve, Grimlock glared down at the annoying little mech as he appeared to want to ask yet another question.

“SILENCE!!” Grimlock bellowed, cutting off any further blabber from the red and white ‘bot. “If you want answers you need shut up!” For a moment, the rex-former considered that perhaps someone had taken Bluestreak, changed his colors and shrunk him down to a third his size, but that was not the case, of course. That was just a silly notion if not a logical one to assume all things considered. Although, it was all likely that little Swerve was somehow a distant relative or something just as annoying.

In all actuality, Grimlock didn’t want or feel the need to answer any of Swerve’s questions. Who was this minibot demanding answers from the commander of the Dinobots? He was a nobody in comparison and easily swatted away like a bug. Unfortunately, he was also an Autobot and not the real enemy. Harming him would bring more repercussions down upon Grimlock than what he was likely already going to face once they all returned to the Sol System. And if he simply tried to ignore the minibot, well, let’s face it, that would be near impossible. Therefore, whether he liked it or not, the rex-former would provide answers and then unceremoniously throw Swerve off the bridge.

“First we came and took Trion, ourselves, to defeat ‘Cons in Sol System. Me, Grimlock! Me no need permission! Second, me no care what you hold against me. Third, that boom earlier was Decepticon saboteur trying to blow up ship. Me took care of him before taking ship away form shipyards. Wasn’t safe there anymore. Fourth, we headed back to Sol System. Lastly....”

Grimlock leaned down and looked Swerve directly into his annoyingly cute visage. “....get off my bridge before you accidentally get stepped on!”
