Seriously, why couldn't we have gotten this instead of the super crappy titan one from tr?

With the way they designed it, it's really not practical to make a transforming toy of that that would be able to look like that. It's very cheaty and halfhearted, with only a general idea of what the altmode is supposed to look like (much like how Filmation and Sunbow would have most likely done it, heyo!), rather than trying to actually adhere to the physical dimensions of the Enterprise in a way that would make use of the ship's mass for a believable feasible conversion process.Hellscream9999 wrote:First-Aid wrote:This needs to happen. At least they're ships that transform into tf characters and not into human characters like the Star Wars ones.

That to me sounds way better. Personally I would have enjoyed seeing the Enterprise from the movies captained by Shatner but it's still cool no doubt.

Deadput wrote:It probably would have been "better designed" if they weren't trying to go for the Sunbow style which is, let's say "cheaty".
This would have to be a parts former, even a third party company couldn't make this perfectly transform as pieces shorten magically in modes and parts look like they just get pulled off some where and put other places. To make this work as a concept, it would have been better if the bottom part of the enterprise formed the arms with the legs torso coming from the top part.

I think the big difference here is that it wasn't made to try to look like James Kirk or Spock. They did kind of screw up the appearances of the Han Solo/Chewy MF transformer, but they did what they could with the source material. With SWTF, the alt modes were already set and they had to fit the mech mode to it. WIth normal TF, there is some room to tweak and shape the alt modes based on the needs of the bot mode- there is no "set alt mode".

True, I can see some of the difference there. I guess picky TF fans just get on my nerves some times

See, I liked the Millennium Falcon Transformer Takara recently did, loved it.
But also, this right here is the concept so many people WANTED Star Wars to take with Transformers: Turn the ships into the characters. Fort Max now as the USS Enterprise just makes it so much cooler. Can't say I disagree either, and having read the comic, it is a cool thing for sure!

You get two - Enterprise mode for Trek shelf an bot mode for 'Formers shelf, duh.
An man they totally missed what to do wit them big engines. Can use them single, but slap together and transform them into DOUBLE BARREL WARP CANNONS!!!
And yah, needs a fortress mode. And a better bot mode. But I totally dig it. Live long and ROLL OUT!!!

Challenge accepted, dude. See mah picture.
Warp engines in the middle, engineering hull split in halves at the connector to the saucer, warp nacelle struts as ramps on sides of the saucer and saucer is like a command station. Senser dish works like a big antenna. Yeah, that's the shuttle bay end of the secondary pointing up, so some parts forming going on. My mspaint skills ain't the bomb but you get the general idea. Never said it would be a great fortress but it's more like a moon base castle somethin.

This issue sees the continued clash of titans, one born out of a klingon cruiser (looking like Trypticon) and the other being Fortress Tiberius (Fortress Maximus head on a transformed Starship Enterprise controlled by Captain Kirk!).
This issue is out today (16th January) and should be available where all good comics are sold.
We have embedded the images below for your convenience.

With the Enterprise disabled by the Klingon-Decepticon alliance, things look dire for Spck, Optimus Prime, and the landing team to save the day. But with the Autobots' help, can Captain Kirk come up with a solution to save the day from a massive Cybertronian threat?
The Transformers '80s cartoon series meets Star Trek: The Animated Series in a no-holds-barred Saturday morning mash-up for the ages!

but a few things i would've done.
Fort Max should either of had his toy model number as the ship registration(C-114), 1984 or 1987.
Trypticon should've had a KBC design
IDW could've used this as an opportunity to have Chekov's first ST TAS appearance (whether it be canon/fanon)
