But if it was close, would you buy these at 17.99$? At least now we know that they arent 18.99$ which is what BBTS is selling them at.

Well, since I want them now, and I only want Hardhead from this wave...yeah, I'd pay that. But I'm not taking a slaggin' plane to get there!

No Skullsmasher?

Skullsmasher is there, should have been in the picture.
Having played around with them. I'm really enjoying the line so far. The plastic quality feels a little.... soft(?) similiar to how the plastic on the later combinerwar's figures (G2 sets and Victorion). while it should keep things from snapping... stress marks/scratching (gouging?) could be an issue.
As far as the individual figures. Scourge's transformation was a bit more complex than i was expecting (I imgaine it's due to the rumored heavy retool into.... highbrow(?).)
Blurr's colors are straight up teal in person, which was a bit of a bummer. But since all the Takara pre-orders are sold out... I'll just have to deal.
Skullcruncher is surprisingly large in Beast mode. I was a big disapointed the cockpit cover (flap?) was that really soft bendy plastic.
I think my favorite has to go to Hardhead though... he just oozes badass. Plus the transforming cannon (to allow a titan master to use it) is pretty cool. I also think his "pegs" for the titanmasters is the most practical.
I am super excited to see Blaster and the rest of the gang now.
Posted by SpikeyTigertron on June 29th, 2016 @ 3:00pm CDT
I also have a feeling Blurr will be seen as a "base" for a large ammount of retools. We know we're already getting Brainstorm from him. I can easily see Arcee as well. There have been some folks saying we may see a Nautica, which I think would be really neat.

Highbrow was confirmed by Hasbro to be a totally new mold.
In any case, thanks for your quick review!

But for the asking price, I would need quite a bit more for me to buy it.
I can't specifically explain what I expected and what would've been needed to change my view on this... But kinda as people are saying, it's just not enough for me.
Even when it goes on sale... I'll probably pass. And I really like the idea of having a Fort Max.
But only if I really like it.
I'm feeling the same about Headmasters. Some of them look pretty decent, but nothing that has me excited or wanting to search them out in stores or online.
I recently checked out ToysRUs.com, and their price for deluxe CW figures is now $18.99...
That's pretty crazy imo.

That's the employee price, which was verified by the employee at my Fry's Store. Here's my receipt with the $17.99 price, which is around what MSRP is on these figures just like with Combiner Wars figures.

Yeah that is nuts. You might want to move to canada, check what they are charging here instead:
And remember that 11.99$ CDN = 9.27$ USD

This, already hit my stores; but I won't pay $18 for them, nor will I pay $16 unless it's at my target, and then, the only one I would be getting would be skullsmasher, no one else looks worth the money

Daaayum!!
The highest I saw them in stores was $19.99
$24??? That's just stupid.
Man I miss the days where TRU would have buy 2 get one free sales, and each Generations/Reveal the Shield Deluxe was only $9... Walking out of that place with 3 figures for under $20...

Was talking about the TRU $24 deluxe prices. And my target is my local place to buy figures, has been for a long time - I'll support it for a figure

That's not really a fair comparison. Those are TRU Canada's clearance prices on Combiner Wars, not the regular retail price (regardless of whether or not they're actually called "clearance" prices). Combiner Wars is done minus a few odds and ends. Stores are going to blow out whatever product is left, if they're not already doing so. I expect that Target US will start blowing out Combiner Wars some time in the next month as Titans Return products make their way through retail distribution.

Bumblebee21 wrote:What do you think of you the Headmasters
The headmasters are impressively *tiny* were I the target demographic (younger child) I could see losing some of these. They have impressive detailing for figures so small. Though I wish there was just a *smidge* more paint detailing. The arms only go up to about a 45 degree angle (mostly due to blockage, probably could force it... but i haven't tried) they are on balljoints though.

I really like him. All the figures have rather impressive articulation. Pretty much all have shoulder, bicep, wrist swivel. Skullcruncher's alt mode is the "largest" (longest?) for the deluxes and it has tons of character to it. The ball-jointed neck, and swivel tail were nice touches they didn't *have* to include. he does have the least amount of titanmaster ports though (unless i can't spot the others)

I do wish posting pictures was a bit easier on the site, otherwise I'd bomb you guys with more photos. But i see Seibertron will be on the case soon. What's your take on them so far? if you've managed to free them from their cardboard prisons?
The cross-play between the masters and their transectors/bodies (whatever you want to call them) was a lot more engaging that I was expecting. Maybe it's the posts... maybe it's the decent articulation/detail of the little buggers. But i'm really sold on them in a Micromaster/diaclone sorta way.
As far as you guys going on about pricing. I know it really depends on your personal incomes/budgets; but I'd say MSRP is fair for these guys. Considering the Marvel BaF (build a figures) are usually $20. They "do" a lot less, I'd through the 6" SW:Black series in with that.
There is a fair bit of paint on these guys, though it's not necessarily where maybe it *should* have been. (I'm looking at your Scourge).
I'm having a hard time deciding what "scale" these guys should be.... are the Masters "regular" sized or are they indeed mini-cons/micromasters? I guess we'll find out soon in the comics.

My TRU has deluxes for $24 as well, and voyagers for $30. Went up $8 for deluxes since Christmas. I will almost never buy transformers there. Now Walmart and Target sell them for $14.99, and that is what I am willing to pay for a deluxe.

Not a stupid question in the least, thats why this forum exists, amongst other reasons. I personally am unimpressed. I dont like his base mode, but thats because I had the expectations of the G1 toy with better articulation (this is not it). Looking at it from a toy perspective, it is very unimpressive since it is a retool of Metroplex that keeps vestigial components that dont serve as anything anymore. Like the opening legs and the big arm moving mechanism on his right breast that can no longer move his arm.
Leave it to fans to come up with better alt modes than Hasbro. Here's the one Optibotimus rigged together by repositioning the legs and opening them. Looks infinitely better.
Also the arm swing does still work, it just doesn't serve a purpose.

30-50 bucks kabaya kit Fortress Maximus compared to titans return Fortress Maximus for 150 bucks. kabaya is voyager size about seven inches tall but it includes all the weapons and sword. its legs even fold in city mode.
