I still need to open up Battletrap, but Tailgate is a cutie. :p

I might prefer his T30 look -- but this one will do! :BOT:

Just got alchemist and Alpha Trion, super fun little dudes. I went looking for Prime, saw him yesterday but didn't have the funds. Today he was gone, so I was sad until I saw these prime masters! The details on all of the masters is so nice, every time I really look them over I see new things. Skullgrins prime master has wheels sculpted onto the sides of his legs. Saw that today.

I kinda want to buy more Nitros for guys like Scorponok.

I have put serious thought into hunting down more Nitros to slap heads on, like Apeface, Overboard, and one to actually keep his regular head

Same. Elita may be the repaint/retool, but she has killed it. She's fantastic.

And as for Rodimus Unicronus, screw everything, he is SG Rodimus Prime to me, and I will guy the labels to make sure he stays that way.

Quick thoughts on Roadtrap and Battleslash:

Battleslash isn't so bad. Helicopter mode is just convincing enough, aside from the big socket on the front, but I'm sure it could be explained away as a canon or something. Bot mode isn't terrible, proportions are alright.

Roadtrap is every bit as fidgety as Legends Wheelie in vehicle mode. You get a side panel in place and the back part splits, you get that part together and half the front window pops up. Pretty frustrating even with the built in locks inside the front wheels that are supposed to keep everything together. Bot mode is alright, his legs look stumpy thanks to the windows, but standing him next to Bumblebee the leg joints are all in the same place. Annoying alt mode aside, he's OK.

Their vehicle interaction with Prime Masters is very questionable since they can only sit with their knees bent the wrong way. Feels more like they were meant to be powered up by the PM spark modes rather than ridden by the bot modes.

As Battletrap he's pretty nice. Hands look awkward, but not terrible. He's free of kibble which is a huge plus when compared to Centuritron (the closest thing to Battletrap in Generations). His knees are fine, they're covered and go further down his leg than they look like they do in pictures. I'm not crazy about the official transformation of his back so I like to reassemble the top of the helicopter on his back keeping the propellers functional, though extended on a pair of bars, but I like the way they can be pivoted for hovering and such. I'm happier with him every time I play around with him.

Really looking forward to Flywheels and optimistic for a potential Landcross in the future.

Today was a great day for me. I managed to snag both Voyagers and Rodimus! I'm relieved to say no breakage on evil Roddy's exhaust pipes. Hun-Gurrr is cool and his torso mode may have just become my favorite ever. Elita looks fantastic in robot and torso modes. BUT... I cannot fully transform her into jet mode. The nose cone section just does NOT line up with the four pegs it's supposed to attach to. I spent a good hour trying to fiddle/force it into place with no luck. Has anyone else had an issue with this?

Nevermind. I finally got it to work. It's difficult, but if you press in at the correct angles in the right sequence, the nose cone will just barely fit into place. And for anyone wondering, Elita's legs do properly fit together in jet mode. No more gap. :D

She's THICC... Just the way I like it! :-D
Also, for everyone that was disappointed about Abominus not having dragon head knees (I was one of them), it turns out they would not work with many limb bots due to their front kibble. It was a necessary sacrifice to keep the Scramble City compatibility intact.

I don't have to have scramble city compatibility, but practically, out of all the combiner wars line, I think the dragon knees would only work with the Dead End / Breakdown molds. I still don't care and am hoping for third party Abominus thigh fillers with adjustable dragon heads :)

Thanks to our very own Cobotron, we now have pictures of the highly anticipated Transformers Power of the Primes Elita One -1 and Hun-Gurrr fully combined! While we've seen pictures of both of them in their torso modes before, we haven't seen many pictures with any limbs attached- and in the case of Elita-1, this is the first time most of us have seen her with ANY limbs attached. Cobotron uses the Combaticons as limbs for Abominus to great effect, and the G2 Aerialbots for Elita-1 (no official name for her gestalt mode seems likely to happen) in spectacularly garish G2 fashion. He also shows off Elita-1 with Botcon Tigatron, and Combiner Wars Wheeljack, Quickslinger and Rook as limbs.

I'm blown away by Hungerr/Abombinus there were SOO MANY little touches they did to that mold they *didn't* have to do. The automorphing with the fins, the *extra* fins on the shin panels!

As for Elita Uno it's amazing how much a deco/color layout changes the figure. I couldn't stand starscream in Torso mode... but somehow... I'm fine with hers. Her thigh/wrist also being white with the red/maroon gauntlet does subtle wonders for breaking up that "hulk forearm".

While I like Cobotron's reply better....

Her combiner head is extremely similar to her regular head, so much so that you almost have to look at them side by side to tell. IMO, that's the one thing Starscream's torso mode does better is the gestalt head.

I'll get her, not for torso mode that's for sure, because that looks like total bollocks, but because it'll be the first figure I have of her.

Plus I don't want her mold mate.

I know this is a bit late, as it was like revealed almost a week ago, but I am just getting around to seeing it.
I am so loving Snarl, :BOT:, those "in hand" pics of him do him some justice, it could just be that he has always been my favorite Dinobot :BOT:, but I think he is the best of the newer (updated) group as well.
And I am also glad that we are getting more "classic" female Autobots :BOT: for the line, combiners or not, I just think it is awesome.

Ah, ever the wordsmith, Sir. It does, indeed, look like fecal matter.

However, I actually think her regular mode looks pretty good. I actually like the stickers. It's just that the placement of them is sloppy.

I really do like her individual modes (won't comment on the stickers, haven't paid close enough attention), but that torso ... it just looks like a big block of red plastic.

Tack some limbs on and it just doesn't blend. That may be the choice of the bots Cobes used though.

But that's irrelevant to me. I only keep the "traditional" combiners combined. Any additional limbs and torsos stay in their individual modes.

We got the definitive Ultra Magnus in Combiner Wars, so just take the easy route Hasbro, paint Optimus black, or better yet, paint him orange. We need a decent modern day Fire Guts!

I think fire guts would work well especially since the transformation of pax to chest is reminiscent of ginrai to super ginrai, they probably should of kept the power master prime name for this. Ah well, what can you do...we need a shrugging emoji.

@primalxconvoy wouldn't you be waiting a long time to get those then since takara will only be doing exclusives for this next line at least?

Elita-1 looks great there posed with PotP Leader Optimus Prime. Too bad she towers over the Classics Optimus Prime mold, though. That's the version I use in my display for scale purposes. Keeps Combiner Wars Leader Jetfire appropriately much bigger than Prime. Of course, some other Voyager Autobots also tower over poor Classics Optimus, like Inferno and Grapple. We really need a new good Voyager Optimus Prime figure in the Classics/Generations style. The CW version isn't bad, except for that head sculpt. It's too small, and I really don't like the stylized linework on the mouth plate.

My main beef is not that I cant tell they are different, I cant tell which is the powered up version. Clearly, Optimus' combined mode shows a head that has elements exagerated, like the crest and the antennas. And I dont need to look up close to notice it. With Elita, both are just variant versions of her cartoon head. And from far, not only can you not tell which is which but it isnt at all obvious that one is for her combined form.

I dunno if that's fair, elita's head has quite a few more limitations on what can fit into her body than o/p's who just tucked his head into a cavernous backpack...

Being "modest" in a sense does made her... alone? I can tell you that the regular head with the circles on the side of the helmet and the circular horns is more accurate to the cartoon design.

Again, anyone compare Starscream's and Elita-1's Enigmas?

I'm amazed how polarizing Elita-1 is.

She's a traditional jet former (body with jet as backpack). No issues there. They can't all be Triggerhappy.

She makes a solid torso. I'm looking forward to seeing how she does substituting for Silverbolt with my Superion Maximus version of the gestalt. Her colors may not work, but I wont know until I see the combination with my own eyes.

Here is Elita One's head from The Search for Alpha Trion:

Image

Here is her robot mode head from PotP:

Image

They look very close to me with the difference mainly in the lack of paint on the toy.

The PotP gestalt head is just a little different so it's still Elita-1 but powered up. That's how I see it.

Image

Overall, I prefer the new stylized toy heads.

The problem I have is :HASBRO: 's cheap stickers. I wonder how she would look without them. Turns out TR Megatron/Blitzwing have incredible detailing on the wings and don't need them covered up.

This is odd. There is a Walmart about half a mile form where I work, and I've never been there (mostly because I pass 2 other Walmarts and 2 other Targets, and a TRU between home & work, where I get most of my toys)

It's in a "not so nice" neighborhood, so I can see why I've never been there. Despite all this, I managed to get Roadtrap on my lunch break just now (sadly they had no Battleslash, only Tailgate which I have no interest in).

So I had the inevitable "item not scanning" dilemma. The cashier said "I may not be able to sell this to you"...I offered to go back to toys and take a picture on my phone of the price (I should have done that first, I think part of me was hoping the UPC would be in the system by now). But then her impatience took over and she asked for the price, which I gave her honestly. Her lack of caring was I guess what upset me most, it's just sad that so many employees are unhappy, but I get that it's commonplace now, which is why I try to use self checkout as much as possible, which this store did not have.

Unlike CW Legends Class which would clearly advertise if a particular figure had integration with a combiner team; there is nothing that advertises on the packaging that these two are meant to go together, other than a tiny piece of artwork of Battletrap's combined mode on the side, which any person not savvy to the line most likely would not even notice. Even just a little pic in the corner of the window advertising its combiner ability would have been nice.

On a side note, I'm pretty sure Walmarts price scanning system is nationwide, but has anyone in the continenatial U.S. been able to purchase any of the wave 2 legends and actually have them scan successfully?

Final post of this long post- Seems like wave 2 is releasing the opposite of wave 1

Wave 2 (first to last)
Deluxe
PM's
Legends
Voyagers
Leaders

Wave 2 (first to last)
Leaders
Voyagers
Legends
PM's (just now being sighted)
Deluxes (not yet sighted in the Western hemisphere)

For those that want a "Fire Guts" Prime:

-

(Personally, I don't like the Prime mold, and would rather have a black Nucleon Quest Convoy from the TR PM OP mold and Fire Guts God Ginrai from the Takara version)

To clarify about "remolds/repaints", I meant regularly released figures. Elita-1 is a remold of Starscream (so I don't need to get SS), and I'm sure Hasbro will remold/repaint most of these figures at least once. Basically, I'm interested in the best version of certain "weaker" molds in this line (especially if they are "new" characters).

Basically, I'm interested in the best version of certain "weaker" molds in this line (especially if they are "new" characters).

I see what you mean now ;)^ yeah hasbro do like to get their moneys worth. Which I can't blame them since that is the goal of all for-profit businesses.

Self-checkout wouldn't have helped you in this situation.

I have always thought seekers made an odd choice for a combiner torso. A little too dorito shaped for my liking.

And now Prime face me in my ultimate form, Cool Ranch!
Though, in my opinion, most the recent jet combiner, Silverbolt and Scattershot, have triangular body shapes when torsos. Doesn't really bother me too much, but I can see why it may nag others. For me it just looks kind of aerodynamic, so it fits.

Jets are pretty much triangular in basic shape, mostly due to their wings near the back half of the body and their slender, tapered profile up front. That's just simple aerodynamics. It makes sense that a jet folded up to act as a "torso" for a giant robot will still be fairly triangular in overall shape.

So Aces has obtained the wave2 Prime Masters, and we're seeing the Leaders and Voyagers -- but where are the Deluxes? I'm thinking Target will get them in the next couple of weeks....

Overlord needs more options for Prime Masters in his chest!
