But before that, there are some other news-worthy items to note. The first are listings for Beast Wars Masterpiece Megatron and Optimus Primal - Megatron is priced at 35,000 JPY (roughly 315 USD) and is set for release in January of 2019. Optimus Primal (presumably a re-release of the regular Masterpiece Primal) will be released a month later in February 2019, for 12,000 JPY (110 USD). If you want to discuss Megatron check out this thread, and post here to talk about Primal.
Secondly, and this is exciting, we have what seems to be confirmation of a Takara release of Power of the Primes Leader Nemesis Prime and Deluxe Wreck-Gar! This is our first indication of the two exclusive figures being released in Takara's Power of the Primes toyline - line integration is one thing, but it's good to hear that at least some exclusives will be transferring across too! Wreck-Gar is 2,800 JPY (25 USD) and Nemesis Prime is 8,000 JPY (72 USD), both set for release in December this year - discuss their impending Takara releases in the universal Power of the Primes thread!
And finally, the biggest new information (in terms of interest and physical size) - an Encore release of Transformers Armada Unicron, priced at 20,000 JPY (180 USD) and also to be released December. This tried-and-true mold has seen release after release, very rarely going long without a new version, but this time seems likely to be special - fellow Seibertron staff ScottyP explains:
ScottyP wrote:There is also a listing for Encore Unicron, but it is unlikely to be the regular colors. It is listed as "Micron Combine Type", and if that means what I think it means given the events of the show, this Encore is Unicron of Light!
That's right, this listing seems to indicate an Encore re-release of the green colored Unicron of Light figure, and Lucky Draw toy of which only 10 have ever been made (at the moment)! While it may devalue those existing Lucky Draw figures somewhat, this may be a great opportunity for other fans to obtain the mold in those special colors if our analysis is to be believed.
Check out the listings on Loopaza's Facebook page here, and to discuss this Encore Unicron look no further than this very thread! Speculate away, share your thoughts, and rest assured we at Seibertron.com will let you know as soon as more information on this toy comes to light!

I expect it's just a re-release of the original Micron Legend version.

No, early fan conjecture. The original Lucky Draw was indeed called "Unicron of Light" and is firmly based on the Mini-Con-created copy in Armada.
I wouldn't expect the toy itself being a carbon copy, but at the very least switching out the inaccurate grey for a shade of green.

That's the full price, most Japanese exporters are going to reduce it further, maybe as low as $250. Of course the shipping is going to bounce the price up quite a bit, but probably not terribly since I doubt Megs will come in a very big box since the price comes from the electronics, not the contents of the box.
As for Unicron, considering the the last two Encores (God Fire Convoy and MW Optimus Prime) there's really no way it's just going to be a reissue of the Lucky Draw figure. Expect something painfully screen accurate, entirely neon green, maybe not even clear plastic (it wasn't clear in the cartoon), and no painted details. If Takara Tomy is dedicated to cartoon accurate reissues then that's what we should expect.

And good point but we'll only see how crazy they get when we see pictures of this green giant

The recent Platinum release had the mold showing its age a little, but not super badly. A few ratchets not quite as tight, a few sculpted details don't pop as much. The wings/planet pieces don't stay up in robot mode but I haven't had a Unicron outside of my original Micron Legend version where that wasn't a problem.Carnivius_Prime wrote:TheForgottenTaxi wrote:Man, it is beyond time we got a new Unicron mold. Also, holy crap that BW Megs price!

True, but, the Unicron of Light was all glow-y in the show, and clear plastic has often been used to simulate glowing effects. Take Burning Convoy, for instance. He was solid in the movie, but because he glowed like the hair of a Super Saiyan God, both of his toys were mostly translucent red.Emerje wrote:As for Unicron, considering the the last two Encores (God Fire Convoy and MW Optimus Prime) there's really no way it's just going to be a reissue of the Lucky Draw figure. I'm calling BS. The LD Unicron is nowhere near the correct color of green shown in that screen cap. Not to mention that the "Matrix Glow Rodimus" from that e-Hobby 3 pack is damn near the same green/teal as LDU, I'm convinced he's supposed to be based on death Unicron from TFTM.
I'm not saying that you or wiki is wrong in your info, just that Takara is full of it.

But it was a Lucky Draw toy for a contest held by the Micron Densetsu Year Book 2003 (a Japanese Armada guidebook).shajaki wrote:Thinking more...JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:shajaki wrote:Been thinking. I thought the green Unicron was called "matrix glow" and was based on his death in the end of TFTM?

Yeah I'd agree that green Unicron being a TFTM homage/reference makes no sense. I don't get the folks in the thread trying super hard to turn a blatantly obvious Armada/Micron Legend based deco into something G1. Heck, it's even from the really-actually-seriously good part of the Armada show!Sabrblade wrote:I mean, Unicron didn't turn green when he died in the movie.

I second you, buddy. Though it isn't likely at this time, I really hope they can produce a Titan-class version of Unicron. That would be just straight up-and-down off the chain

This,
and this,
to me, have a lot more in common with this,
than this.
Don't misunderstand my statements. It's fine that Takara says officially that that he's based on Micron Legends Green Unicron. I'm not debating what THEY are officially saying he is, or is based on. They can call him Arcee if they really want to. What I'm saying is, look at the colors. Cause they're a hell of a lot closer to TFTM Unicron's green explody death, and e-Hobby Roddys "Matrix Glow" scheme. I'm not trying to MAKE something GEEWUNN, just because.

It is still possible the green is inspired by that Matrix glow from the movie, I'll give you that, but inspiration and representation don't always match up.

I know he didn't actually turn green. However,ZeroWolf wrote:Plus in the movie the green came from beams of light that erupted from his body, he didn't glow all that colour.
I don't believe he actually turned blue. I assume it was just a reflection of the Matrix power.Sabrblade wrote:..He still doesn't turn green in that sequence, whereas Hot Rod does turn blue as seen here:

It can be that to you all day, it's your Transformers adventure! Just understand that the tone initially taken didn't lend itself to that. No big deal, but don't get on everyone's case about it when they take it as a questioning of the facts when it's presented that way.shajaki wrote:I'm calling BS.

Besides, we all know what early 00s "Matrix Glow" deco from Takara looked like
