Botcon.com has been updated again today and has announced that their second guest is Stan Bush! It has been rumored on several accounts that Mr. Bush would be attending, but now we have official confirmation.

In addition, more details about the "mysterious" Saturday Night Party at Paramount have been revealed. Stan Bush will be performing at the party on the Paramount Studios NYC set. So this gives attendees at least a partial idea to what the extra $50 is going towards.

Am I the only one who finds it pretty sad about how this guy is holding onto what little fame he earnt because of one or two songs?

And I wouldn't be suprised if his concert is overshadowed by a movie premiere....

What I find sad is this kind of comments. Stan Bush is an excelent musician and songwriter, and I love his other songs, not just the Transformers' ones. It doesn't matter how big or small his fame might be, what matters is that he is a bigger person than his fame, a great guy. I wish I could see him in concert.

I bought his album "In This Life" that had the 2 newer Transformers song s on it purely for them. But after listening to it, I really liked the other songs better. I think he matured after "The Touch" and has become a better musician since. I would like to see him live but I am not going this year.

I kinda question Bush's position in our fandom.

Why did he become so big? He wrote a song - that wasn't even the main theme - that somehow jumped ahead of the rest and now here we are being updated on every move the guy makes (alright, here it's totally appropriate).

But we don't get updates on how Spectre General/Kick Axe or Lion are doing, do we? I mean, okay, if they aren't doing anything at all but we don't make a deal of out Mutemath or Linkin Park for their roles in the 2007 movie.

Maybe it's because I don't have the same nostalgic memory of The Touch from 1986 (being born to late) but I can never really justify to myself why we continue to report on him. I'm sure he is a good musician and I'm sure he deserves as much attention as the next composer, but for some reason, he gets even more so, and I just don't get why.

If you don't like his music, that's one thing, not everyone goes for that style. But actually, Stan Bush is really big in Europe and I know one magazine (I think it was in the U.K.) actually chose his album "In this Life" as album of the year in 2007. I wish he had the same success in the US and I'm sure so does he but never fault a man for doing what he loves. If he was just playing the same 2 songs for 2o+ years then I'd agree.

The TF fanbase is so diverse that there's room for people to like all sorts of things. I mean, for instance I think Beast Machines was an awful TV show but some people really like it and for some it was even their way into the fandom.

The fact of the matter is he does have a big fanbase within the TF community, not everyone likes him and that's okay. However, if you had met him (as I have) you'd find to be very humble, very warm and a true class act.

I NEVER said I didn't like his music, I have no problem with his music.

Hanging onto fame because of two songs that are 20 years old, well yeah, that kinda speaks for it's self really.

You apparently only paid attention to my first couple of words.

He isn't just dwelling on 2 songs 20+ years ago. He's released I think something like EIGHT albums, and still is playing gigs all over the world.

Is he Bruce Springsteen or Billy Joel? No, but he doesn't need to be.

And he's not like someone like say, Sir Mix-A-Lot who after "Baby got Back", released a whole album of..."arse songs" He doesn't need to sing about giant robots who transform to write a osng. He's appreciative of the fans he gained through those 2 songs but there's an awful lot more to him than just that.

Would you please stop assuming that I seem to know nothing about the guy?

I'm well aware of what he's done over the years. I don't deny he's done a fair bit, but what i'm saying, and what you seem to be missing, is that the only time we hear of him is when it involves Transformers.

Yes, I realise we're on a Transformers website and that any news we hear about him will be TF related, however, take a look at his official page or even his Wiki site, what gets the most attention? The stuff he's done for Transformers.

He had a big song with "The Touch", it's the highest point of his career, numerous albums later and it's the only thing he's remembered for and he milks it for all it's worth.

Nothing against the guy, nothing against his music, but hanging onto the popularity generated by two songs from one album 20 years ago? Yeah, not good.

THAT'S my point, if people still don't get it or feel like attacking me over my belief, well good luck to that because i'm done explaining.

To those who see him in concert at BotCon, have fun!

Wouldn't you? I know I would! Everybody's gotta make a living somehow, and if I could make my money in some way connected to TFs, I'd go for it. I'd rather be famous for one small thing and happy, than insanely rich for being a sellout.

BTW, not disagreeing with you, Burn, just chiming in.

I like hanging out with him, he's like Garth from Wayne's World.

We should invite him to the Seibertron.com party, wherever it ends up being. Not saying he would go, but hey, it would be fun to ask.

Not the strongest evidence one could muster. Meseems that David "Don't Hassle the Hoff" Hasselhoff and Michael "Jesus Juice" Jackson are super-huge in Europe, too. Not guys *I*'d voluntarily lump a decent guy like Stan Bush in with.

Me, I respect any act that's been going longer than a few years. And I'm the last person to accuse any artist or group of delving into a big bowl of lyrical cheese. If we open that can of queso, we've got to pony up with Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Alice Cooper, Ozzy, Slayer, Twisted Sister, Black Sabbath and all the bands that made my puberty tolerable.

You're not a fame-whore if you have talent.

HK, welcome to my nightmare.
