After the splendid product that was FansProject's WB-001 Warbot Defender, we've been holding our breath for their upcoming 'Crossfire' Bruticus Limb Upgrades. We finally get something that aren't prototype pictures, as valued site sponsors BigBadToyStore and TFsource hook us up with five in-color pictures of Crossfire XF-02A Explorer and Crossfire XF-02B Munitioner. They are modern day takes on Blast Off and Swindle, respectively. Check them out below.

Too late.. The price is already shooting through the roof. Not to mention the availability is nonexsistent . Everywhere I look he's sold out. I don't feel too bad though, when I did find Bruticus in target I grabbed but a kid and his mom where also eye ballin it. He told his mom that he wanted to spend his allowance on the " transformers that combine with tanks and stuff"..I couldn't walk off with Brut in my hands after that..

One thing I'm curious about is how Vortex connects with Onslaught now. Looks like there's an add-on piece there. Curious...

wow...
I'm speechless...

Now, seeing as they're willing to create new figures these days, I wonder if they'd tackle Classics Devastator. No hate on Crazy Devy, but you need a G1 Devestator first. Have fun finding him. Catching up with Classics line is hard enough.

But $100 for both upgrades? Yeesh.

Requiem Prime wrote:Yay! I actually like the Energon Bruticus Mold. Doing the legs Peaughs way, he comes out as one of the best of the "recent" combiners. These two (with their array of extra bits) will only make him better, so big win.

How about the Menasor from the latest issue of IDW TF comics?

That's exactly what I did. I ordered an extra Munitioneer for my Swindle shelf. Not like I could display Bruticus along side the Combaticons according to the G1 cartoon !

The first set will be used for Bruticus. When the eventual repaints come out, I'll have those guys, with the two left over limbs from my ROTF Bruticus set as a separate team and display them in their individual bot modes.
Want to touch sooo bad now....

Yes. They're coming out in a month or two.. Peaugh's got a video review upcoming soon.

I had this idea for the longest time, buying another set of these guys and picking up an extra Barricade/Onslaught then repainting them and the leftover 2 into a Ruination set. But given the likely inability these guys have to work in the standard Maximus/Scramble city combination style, as well as the somewhat high price points these guys are at, I don't think I'm thrilled enough to put out for more than one right now.

Only thing is they make the other 3 combaticons look like crap. Why dont these 3rd party companies forget about upgrades and just stick to figures ??? Make a whole Bruticus set cmon guys you know it will sell !!!
Posted by Down_Shift on April 8th, 2010 @ 3:40pm CDT
Leave it up to FP to knock it out of the park and smash all of our windshields with that home run.
I can't wait for those!

Because they don't possibly have the funds to produce such a massive figure for their fans who would want it.
Posted by kirbenvost on April 8th, 2010 @ 4:04pm CDT
Oh, Fansproject, how I love thee...
Edit: Weird, I emailed BBTS earlier today to ask how long their sale is going on, and if they still expect the first of these sets this month, and she didn't even bother answering my question about the sets.
So BBTS sales don't have set lengths apparently, they just last as long as they want to get rid of more stock?
Posted by dragons on April 8th, 2010 @ 4:27pm CDT
swindle needs to be darker tan i think i find it funny on bbts they both have differnt release dates & one should have been out by now but i guess they may plan on releaseing them both at saame time if possible spaceshuttle guy coual be black & grey or black & white but there going for more g1 look i can understand that

It will be hard to top 2010 if we get Protector, Defender, and the Crossfire figures all in the same year.

They're going to. They've already shown some early drawings of a prehistoric style mammel, Beast Wars looking combiner called Glacialbot. With they skills they're developing, it's almost certain they'll build it at some point.

I asked a member of the Fansproject team that lives around my area, and he said that they have no plans for making a devastator upgrade, because Crazy Devy was already doing stuff for devastator. He also did hint that Crazy Devy might be doing a Predaking upgrade.

And how would an upgrade for Classics Devastator work, anyway?
