Still not a fan of Prowl in either mode. Rescue Patrol is cool and So is Chromia.

Cobotron wrote:Ok. I thought so. They look like prototype grey in those shots, so hopefully that's just a factory sample.william-james88 wrote:Cobotron wrote:IS that the first time we've seen Ironhide in physical form, and not a render? He was shown at Toy Fair, right?
Hope those forearms are gonna be red.
We have seen painted samples before, where they were red.
I'm hesitant to say that's the case just because a bunch of figures on display had these "Deco Sample (Not Final)" stickers which I suspect they would have stuck on Ironhide if he wasn't finished.
And the fact that the gray arms are on both the bot and the vehicle and both are in molded colors and factory painted I'm just not so sure these are samples. Hopefully they're simply supposed to be painted red instead of molded and they yanked these out of the factory before it could be done. I also wish the light gray on the shoulders and wheels were darker, but who knows.
And man, Soundwave is armed to the teeth. Shoulder canon, rifle, microphone(?) gun and all three combining into one long gun thing (probably looks better treated like a shoulder mounted bazooka or something) plus a pair of guns that can flip out from under his forearms. Pretty good for a communications officer.

The MP cassettes will still remain my defaults regardless.
But arent those obscenely huge for a voyager soundwave?

Lord knows Ravage ain’t too huge.
And what is the deal with trying to do multiple quotes from the same post? I can’t get it to work right.

Soundwave looks awesome. It's going to take me a while to get used to the cassetteybois, though.

I'm also guessing that the Cybertron sequence is just a couple minutes in the movie, but that's even more off-topic.
I plan to use TR Rumble and Frenzy with Soundwave since I think they'll still scale better than Micromasters would, but I'm eager to replace Ravage and Lazerbeak with their Siege counterparts.

They have a certain heft and an improvement on the classics releases (I didn't bother with the Combiner wars iterations). For their time the classics were pretty awesome but a lot of the transformations were too fiddly something the seems to have improved since CW...
re these prototypes, looking forward to them.. TR sound wave was a good figure but totally out of place scale wise. Also like the fact he has a g1 inspired hand gun. His alt mode is a bit weird but it kinda fits in with deceptions being flyers...
Not quite understanding chromia's disappearing back pack in the pix... seems like it's removed completely in some shots.
Prowl reminds me of prime's smokescreen
Hope they release a larger variety of micromasters.

The best thing that could've been done was have a combiner peg that could attach or detach from the figure.

This site seems to like to mess with that, doing stuff like randomly delete the bracket from one of the tags or inject an extra closing tag. In this case it seems to be outright ignoring an opener tag and possibly double-counting a closer.
MP Ratbat's the same size as his original toy

Except a combiner peg won't do you any good if there is no 5mm port to attach a hand or foot. That was the other thing removed when Siege Chromia was designed.

I was hoping to say the same about them being compatible with TR Leader Class SW & Blaster, but obviously for the same reasons, they are much smaller.

This price may be a mistake and may not last.
I just got Hound, Cog and Skytread for about $25 total shipped free!

Awesome, that is a heck of a deal. i only wanted Skytread, but even paying shipping it was less than $15. However someone could potentially get all four deluxes for $32 shipped, that is amazing!
Of course one has to wonder, if it's not an error, is Hasbro aware that perhaps there is some severe defect with this product and they are just trying to unload it quickly? I mean I know I just ordered Skytread, which has known defects, but I'm not sure about the others.

They could've left the ports attached too.
What I meant was when they were retooling Chromia, to basically leave the option for her to be a combiner but if people weren't interested in that feature or hated the backback, to just be able to slide that part off.

Cog appears to be out of stock already, added him to the cart, but wouldn't let me proceed. I did just order the other 3 at the discount and once they arrive, I'll be returning them to Target where I found all 4 deluxes last week.

HOLY SCRAP! I jumped on that deal! Thanks for the post Bonfireben!
They each came to $7.99 before tax with the ALLNEW promo code. Unbelievable!
Somebody made a big boo boo at the toyshop. Hope they get to keep their job at least until after the holidays.

Hopefully Generations Select will do a less-stupid Chromia release.

There is also a new promo code that can be used to get 20% off (ALLNEW) and if the order is over $14.99, then its eligible for free shipping.

Which is disappointing. Not exactly unexpected because of them being Micromasters, but still. I think the G1 cassettes are basically the right size compared to Generations figures going by the cartoon: Smaller than minibots but not by too much.
On the other hand, with them being smaller you would probably be able to stick at least 2 in TR Soundwave's chest because it was designed for toys larger than the G1 cassettes.

This was one heck of a deal, which makes me question wether or not this was intentional. If it was, Hasbro seems to be heavily in the holliday spirit, if not, someone isn't going to have a job at Hasbro much longer.

Yeah, I'm a little skeptical to.
I was just on TFW2005 bashing HTS for being so slow when it came to releasing new figures. And how I rarely even shopped there anymore then a half hour latter BAM!
Someone posted news that HTS had them and the dlx's were only $9.99, $7.99 with the promo and free shipping. I manage to get Prime, Meg, Sideswipe and Tread. Which were the main ones I wanted anyway (along with Shockwave).

Eh, it happens. I dreamed there was a Combiner Wars Armada Sideways once. Out of curiosity, what did your dream come up with for them, mold and member-wise?
In other news, while I personally did not do anything about that deal, I feel I can fairly confidently say I'm getting Skytread and Hound for Christmas because of this, having passed the info on before everything sold out.

It was mostly matching the rumors - Siege Sideswipe mold repainted in G2 colors, Skytread repainted for Slamdance. Don't know if my brain came up with anything for the Battlemaster though.

Siege Hound is a solid figure. There isn't a lot of obvious gapping in the robot mode, which is quite refreshing. He sports a very dark green this time around, a bit darker than I think we're used too, but the same too can be said of the red used on Siege Sideswipe. Maybe this is part of how Hasbro conveys the "darker and grittier" direction they're going with in Transformers: SIEGE, along with the painted on "battle damage" details. Hound's accessories are great too. He's got his shoulder cannon/holo-emitter, a rifle, and an ammo clip. The three can be arranged in several different configurations. I do wish that, instead of the ammo clip, the shoulder cannon had a missile or something to put in it. It looks kinda "empty" as is, and putting his gun in there leaves him without a handheld weapon.
Hound's Transformation is fun and mostly intuitive. I got hung up on figuring out where to put his arms in alt mode for a while, though. I don't use the instructions unless I absolutely have to. After studying some pictures of Hound in "Jeep" mode for a while, I figured out home the arms work. It's a little sad that they just kind of contort a bit and lazily lay under everything else in vehicle mode. At least they do tab in, but I feel like they could have used some empty space in there a little more creatively. I also have some issue with how the legs fold out and back in during transformation. There's definitely a bit of clearance issue getting them past the roll cage. It's not horrible, and there are a few joints that can help, but you still end up having to "bend" some plastic around other plastic just a bit to get things where they need to go (unless I'm missing something really big).
I'm not sure yet if Siege Hound will be my "display" Hound in the future. I'm sticking with the Autobot Specialist version for now. I did give him the Siege version's gun, though. There is a lot to like about Siege Hound, but I feel, for me at least, the Specialist version has such a good grasp on both the G1 cartoon silhouette, colors, and details that it's hard to really surpass it, especially when Siege Hound skews more G1 toy accurate with the bronze stripe detailing and the stars on the shoulders. I'll post some comparison pics later tonight of Siege, Autobot Specialist, and Unite Warriors Hound.

I was going to wait to find them in stores, but at $8 a deluxe and a total of $33.89, when the total would be around $85, I couldn't say no to $50 off.
so now, just to keep an eye on Leaders, battlemasters, and micromasters in stores. Wasn't concerned about getting the micromasters online yet, they can wait for the store.

It's a problem whenever an online store has something on sale - big runs on the inventory are unrestrained by proximity, physically going through the aisles, and checkout lines.
