Rated X wrote:These are all really nice versions to own. It was this version of wingblade that got me to accept the character. Takara really does know how to work wonders and make figures that would normally suck be awesome. But im not sure I understand the rationale behind the takara version of chromia. The hasbro version is G1 cartoon accurate, so what does the purple and white homage ?
The G1 cartoon episode "The Search for Alpha Trion":
Turns out she changes colors a lot in that episode:

After almost three weeks of usps mucking about they are now ready for collection at my local post office.I just need to get there before it closes. The suspense is nearly killing me.
At least I have time to compare my legends Arcee to the generations version I got my little girl for her third birthday this weekend. (she won't be having any of this rescue bots stuff)

Rescue Bots toys are really awesome and are extremely age appropriate for a 3 to 6 year old. Each of the initial 6 Rescue Bots features a different transformation that helps increase a child's motor skills. One uses a push and pull method, another uses a lever motion to transform it while another uses a twisting/rotating feature to transform it. I can't recommend the Rescue Bots enough. My daughter loved them from about 2.5 to 5 and then she didn't care for them any more but we still watch the Rescue Bots cartoon together from time-to-time.
I would rather her have enjoyed Rescue Bots for what it was than her having a poor experience with a Transformer toy that was meant for an older child.

And I'm a single young adult with no children who collects Rescue Bots toys for myself. For what they are, they're great.Seibertron wrote:Allenspurs wrote:At least I have time to compare my legends Arcee to the generations version I got my little girl for her third birthday this weekend. Maybe I was a bit vague with my first post. I think the rescue bots toys look great and we regularly watch the tv show together but she is not even 1% interested in the toys in any way shape or form.
I think she just seen mine and want's the same as her daddy. That and she is used to playing with vintage g1 toys too, she likes the trucks, optimus, magnus, motormaster and huffer are her current group of choice.
I have a one year old well on the way too,she absolutely loves her g1 roller toy(and it's even still got all the wheels) maybe she will respond to the rescue bots better.

Take some time to savour the changes in character updates over just a couple of years, with Thundercracker soon to see its full release in Leader Class form, Motormaster part of wave 2 of Combiner Wars, Hoist already a Generations Deluxe and Bluestreak appearing in the Masterpiece line, by comparing the new galleries to the links we just provided.

Ryan's just one guy doing this, so he needs the time to do all of it, and tends to put up galleries of figures when they become relevant. My guess is that these went up now to build anticipation toward a forthcoming gallery of Leader Thundercracker.BERSEKAEL wrote:Very nice, but why the delay on this figures? Actually this is the real reason ... https://www.facebook.com/Seibertron/photos/a.10152944816365070.1073741843.14462290069/10153311896540070/?type=1&theater
I keep putting off the GDO figures thinking that I want to do a group shot with all of them but just haven't been able to find the time to do all of them at one time. So I decided to forego the group shot of all of the GDO figures so that I can get them up finally. With Legion Skywarp just coming out, it seemed silly to put his gallery up but still not have Thundercracker posted. I have probably well over a hundred or more Legions/Legends/Cyberverse that need proper galleries up. The good news is that I can knock them out quickly ... I did 20 Legions/Legends/EZ galleries on Thursday this past week so we'll be seeing them pop up from time-to-time.

I love the Legion/Cyberverse scale too for some reason. They're some of my favorite Transformers from the past decade. Just fun little figures. My biggest gripe with them are the lack of weapons. I really wish they would all have weapons. I didn't realize until I did the GDO galleries that the guns for Bluestreak and Hoist were molded after their G1 weapons. Nice that someone is paying attention to small details like that.
I also really want to see the Seeker mold done as Ramjet, Thrust and Dirge. It'd be nice if they had their appropriate wings/weapons, but I think at this price scale I'd be fine with them just using the same mold since you can make them into coneheads. To me, that is the most defining feature of those 3 characters. I'll also take a Smokescreen from the Prowl mold, and I'm sure we can think of some creative uses for other ones. It'd be great if they would come up with a mold that would accommodate Wheeljack and Tracks robot/vehicle modes so that there was another body style that could be used for repaint potential.
A comprehensive Beast Wars Cyberverse line is also in the top 10 of my want list, complete with the show characters and any easy repaints they can make along the way.

Now, I wonder if they'll ever release that mold in Acid Storm's deco, he got a Legends AND A FRIGGIN' MASTERPIECE! One can dream, right?

In it you will find comparison shots to the Hasbro deco, showing the differences (some more subtle than others) between both figures. Generally, as per usual, Takara has chosen to go more toon accurate with its deco, replacing a lot of red parts with silver. Another interesting bit is that this is the very first Takara Legends figure to be packaged in robot mode. Enjoy!

The set includes the three previously released figures, under the Generations line, of the same characters (which you can find here, here and here) but with new paintjobs each and accessories borrowed from other figures in the lines so far, to reflect their appearance in the IDW Publishing Combiner Hunters one shot. Check out the warrior-esque new incarnations of the assassin, bodyguard and Cityspeaker below, and click on any image for the full show!

Seibertron wrote:There's one comparison shot that I forgot to take last night before my flight ... Arcee's hands have been changed again. She now has Chromia's hands (ironically TFP Arcee's hands) to accommodate the new accessory she has instead of the previous hands that were kind of abysmal on this figure. I think this makes the first figure to ever get 3 different sets of hands on a mold.
She also doesn't seem to have her guns any more. Think the two might be connected?

Because their weapons came with other, bigger toys originally. All three giant weapons in the Combiner Hunters set are recolored and rereleased from previous releases of bigger toys.AutobotJazzFan84 wrote:I'm not complaining here, I love the Combiner Hunters retools, but their weapons are bigger than they are.

What the galleries, which you can view by clicking on any of the images below, also include are comparisons between the newly photographed Takara toys and the previous Hasbro ones, pointing out the differences in paintjobs most of all. So take some time to browse through the past of the Transformers franchise, if you will. We'll be back to SDCC soon enough.

Our next two figures in question are no slouches and stand out quite a bit. Seibertron.com is proud to present our newest galleries:
Generations GDO Leader Class Starscream and Ironhide!
These Asian region exclusives take two of the best movieverse Leader Class molds and redresses them to look like their G1 counterparts and both wear it well. Especially Ironhide, who is an excellent figure and is not one to be passed over, in any color scheme. Starscream is second only to ROTF Optimus Prime, he's that solid of a Leader Class figure and he looks like he stepped right out of the screen. What better way to make him look all pretty than to slap on his G1 counterpart's coat of many colors?
You can see the original molds in our galleries here and here, and check out their cooler than cool repaints below:

Yeah, these things were made to appeal to the more traditional Transformers enthusiasts. Let me put this delicately, repainted excrement should still be flushed.

I also started and finished the galleries for Year of the Snake Optimus Prime and Omega Supreme earlier this week. Hopefully I can get those posted soon.
Q Transformers Starscream, Thundercracker, Skywarp, and Hasbro Masterpiece Starscream are next up in the galleries. If things go as plannedthey will be posted tomorrow night or Saturday.
