Thanks to Loopaza Mega Store, we have high resolution scans of the latest Figure King Magazine. This and Takara's PR Twitter account are the ways Takara shares the latest info and images for Transformers figures. This time we get our best look yet at the accessory portion of Masterpiece MP-44 Optimus Prime Ver 3, with a lot of attention given to the trailer. We also see how the jet pack interacts with both the trailer and MP Sideswipe, and we see an extra storage tray for unused accessories.

We also get a new reveal, with Golden Lagoon Soundwave. It is not the Masterpiece mold, but instead the original Titans Return/Legends mold being used. The price shown on Twitter is 10,000 Yen. The twitter post also included more images which we are sharing below.

It seems to me that many online stores are struggling to get rid of the original Golden Lagoon-themed toys (they are frequently offered at high discount prices, at least), yet here's another one.

Its unrelated because these are exclusives in Japan. Takara couldnt care less about toys sold in the US since BBTS didnt even get their stock from Takara.

It’s probably more popular in Japan. Ya know, Takaras target audience? We’re just the extra icing on top to them

Jeez, another version of that cruddy over-large Titans Soundwave? Who'd wanna pay the extra cash for that if they own the original or the Bumblebee movie release especially when there's a much more scale-appropiate Soundwave in Siege that has better minions that don't all look like fold out tables?

May not be a fan of the G1 toon at all but that Prime really does do the best job of representing the character from it. It looks spot on. And far more accurate than the previous MP figures. Most of those configurations of the trailer look a bit tacky though (I kinda like the lil pod thingy being removed and carted about by Roller though for some reason). Some of those accessories are just goofy like the Starscream bit (reminds me of the fishing rod with MP Hot Rod, I hated that damn fishing rod, didn't fit in my accessory case at all). Trim it down or sell a version that's just Prime himself and it might be a more attactive price to collectors who don't want so much extra junk with him.

Congratulations you’re not the target audience but there are people who collect gold repaints and people who like the TR figure just fine. Plenty of people have shared their collection of gold repaints

Hey I'm ok with gold repaints (is not my thing but some like the bling... didn't mean to rhyme) but it's just not a figure deserving of it with a terrible alt-mode and several big flaws in robot mode (they even messed up the ratio of the visor vs mouthplace, something that should have been real simple and results in him just looking kinda silly and not at all menacing like he should). Just think it's a really poor version of Soundwave. Not quite Titanium Soundwave levels of crud but far from the Masterpiece or even Siege versions.

It’s a recent mold and these lagoon sets while exclusive arnt that expensive. Takara went with that mold for that reason. They wanted to keep costs down on it and make it affordable like the others.

Already said this in the main Golden Lagoon toys thread, and I'll reiterate it here.

The TR mold gives us a solid gold disco nightclub for our Titan Masters, Prime Masters, Micromasters, BotBots, etc. to boogie down and shake their groove thing! :P

Oh well. Up to them. To me it's just a mold that shouldn't have existed in first place. When the early pics of Blaster were turning up in blurry images I had really hoped he'd be a voyager but was disappointed when he turned out to be a Leader class figure. I had wanted a decent Blaster in voyager scale (nope, I had the FoC version for a lil while but kinda hated it, especially the round disc minions and the lever used to push them out) to represent the badass Marvel comic version that fought Straxus (who ended up the other way by getting a much too small Deluxe figure after a couple decades of waiting for any at all). Guess third-party is the way to go for that but darn they're expensive. Is just a character I see no need for at that size in Generations scale. Much too large. But yeah you're right if folk wanna buy it, it's their money. Have a good weekend, sir. :D

I was gonna suggest the Linkin Park Soundwave, but that one uses the G1 mold:

Instead, let's go with the Year of the Goat one:

I actually really like the golden Soundwave. It reminds me of the Linkin Park one from a few years ago. I hope some Reprolabels, or something gets made for the Linkin Park logos so we can have an updated version of it. I know I’d buy them

Takara has a lot of Transformers exclusives that will be in collector's hands soon, if not already, and thus we have several images coming from various sources. We have all the images below and we will now breakdown what you are about to see:

Official Images of Movie The Best MB-Ex Arm Cannon Bumblebee which is a Toysrus Japan exclusive redeco of Age of Extinction deluxe Bumblebee with a new weapon. You can follow discussion regarding that toy here: viewtopic.php?t=107981&p=2006354#p2006354

Official Images of Studio Series SS-Ex Drift which is another Toysrus exclusive in Japan. It is the same exclusive redeco of TLK Drift which is exclusive to Entertainment Earth in the US. You can follow discussion regarding that toy here: viewtopic.php?t=110126&p=2006737#p2006737

In hand images of Encore Big Convoy, courtesy of Kamito Sakura on Twitter. This is a toy many are looking forward to. The original was exclusive to Japan, as is this release. You can follow discussion regarding that toy here: viewtopic.php?t=111631&p=2006459#p2006459

In package images, courtesy of Robot Kingdom, of the upcoming Monsterbot two pack from Takara. These are a Takaratomy Mall Exclusive in Japan and feature Transformers LG-EX Grotusque & Repugnus. Super excited for Convoy. Those colors are so vibrant. It looks top notch.

I’m also looking forward to Drift. I’ve never handled a movie Drift, and I’m not expecting much from the figure itself, but the paint job does look premium. If nothing else, it’ll be nice to have a good looking Drift to round out the movie cast. Plus I’m such a sucker for minifigs. Mostly for human minifigs, for scale, but these baby Dinobots look nice.

Repugnus and Grotusque in the same box!
I missed out on the Amazon ones so I will buy this set in a heartbeat! =P~

Also, that Drift is sexy as fok. I won't buy it because of the overall price. But still, if a used loose one pop up at a reasonable price, I would cave in.

Whatver the cheaper and easiest to obtain.
That Takara set is a Takara Tomy Mail exclusive. The Amzon ones are sold out or overpriced.
Sigh, guess I'll have to pass on everything. #-o

Oh.
Still, isn't a something-or-other exclusive too? Making it the same price and the same difficulty to obtain like the Japanese version anyway?

Its a toysrus exclusive for countries that have that retailer, like us. So we will get it. It will probably be $40 CAD. The only thing we dont know is if there will be french on the box or not.

At 40$, fair enough. It's like that Bee with the extra parts. And if that Drift is like that Bee, there should be no problems.
But TrU is repeating the no French on MP boxes again so anything can happen. #-o

Oh, and for those who don't understand what's the big deal with the French on box thing, TrU is the only store that completely BAN any toys to be sold in Quebec if there's no French on the freaking box. We can't even order them online.

The kind folks over at Loopaza Megastore have been kind enough to once more scan the Transformers section of the latest Figure King Magazine, in this case #254.

The latest magazine features a plethora of movie related figures, first advertising the upcoming Studio Series Bumblebee Movie Optimus Prime figure, and featuring him alongside his little VW buddy. We also get a look at Cogman, Shatter, Scrapmetal, and Rampage, which includes a chart showing the 8 component locations of Devastator with Scrapmetal and Rampage filled in in their slots.

We also get a look at 2 new Siege figures in the form of Refraktor and Caliburst, which includes the gray prototype of the Refraktor camera mode. Also included is a look at the MP-10 Lebron version, which recently was released, some shots of the Transformers x Mazinger G, and the 7-Eleven Japanese Exclusive Nemesis Prime from the Takara Legendary Commander Optimus Prime for the Bumblebee movie.

Check it all out below, and let us know what you think in the comments section below!

Thanks to the fine folks over at the Planet Iacon Facebook page, we have scans for the latest Figure King magazine, number 255. We get 4 pages in this magazine, and the focus covers several recent reveals.

The first page covers Selects Star Convoy, which was recently put up for pre-order on Hasbro Pulse and TakaraTomy Mall. The page showcases him in the poses we have seen so far, showing off his new parts and chrome matrix.

Page 2 of the Transformers pages covers the recent Selects Smokescreen figure, the 3rd official reveal using the Siege Prowl mold, as well as the newly revealed Selects Turtler. Turtler is definitely heavily armed, and is a hopeful indication of a coming full King Poseidon.

Page 3 focuses in on the Cyberverse cartoon, and we get a look at some animation, some concept art, and what appears to be the recording studio for the series.

Page 4 also covers some Cyberverse figures, such as the Ultimate Optimus Prime, Megatron and Bumblebee; Ultra Starscream; Warrior Windblade; and one-step Optimus and Bumblebee. We also get a look at the upcoming Siege figures, including Springer, Red Alert, Sports Car Patrol, and Smashdown.

Despite the brand-unification mandate and Micro-mold-reuse robbing Hyperdrive of his pecs, it still looks kind of odd to see Takara release him in that color scheme. Gingham and especially Clipper would require some retooling to really do right, but it'll still be kind of a missed opportunity if there's no red and white repaint of that mold.

And considering the entire Seacon team has a total of 3 color schemes to milk from the retooled molds, it'd be far stranger if they didn't do 'em now! (God Neptune's Nautilator could just be redecoed into Gimlet, right?)

The Star Convoy looks great and I’m super excited for Snaptrap. The Seacons are my favourite combiner team. However it looks that Snaptrap is a retool of Hun-Gurr which sucks because it’s another reuse of the Silverbolt Mold. That being said though Silverbolt did have the best combiner torso, in my opinion.

It's not the Silverbolt mold. Hun-Gurrr is his own mold made from engineering that was merely inspired by that of the Silverbolt mold, a la G2 Smokescreen inspiring the transformations of Energon Starscream, 2010 Terradive, and Generations FOC Starscream.

Thanks to the Loopaza Mega Store Facebook page, we have our latest scans of the monthly Figure King Magazine, and this time we have issue #257.

The current Magazine features several of the upcoming Masterpiece figures, including MP-47 Hound showcasing all of his different accessories and features, such as his diving face cover, holographic Spike, and back missile launcher. We also get a nice feature of his interior, which seeing as how he is an open top Jeep, it is nice to see all the effort put into his visible interior.

We also get some further looks at MP-48 Lio Convoy, and while we don't get much more than what we had previously seen, we do get a better look at the Artemis figure that comes with him.

Also included are some further shots of the upcoming Studio Series figures, Siege Omega Supreme Galaxy Upgrade Optimus Prime, and Impactor, some Cyberverse guys, and MPM-8 Megatron.

Check it all out below, and let us know what you think in the comments section below!

Thanks to fellow Seibertronian Cyberpath we have a head's up that the Loopaza Mega Store's Facebook page posted the latest scans of Figureking Magazine #258! That's right folks it's a Figure King Friday!

Included in this issue are some beautiful photos of the greyscale new fan backed Unicron! Unicron currently stands at 1,945 backers! This is oddly almost exactly on pace to hit 8,000 backers by August 31st, but this legendary figure of our beloved fandom needs your help! At $574.99 this is no easy feat, but this won't happen unless those fans who can put down their order, so don't wait!

You can put in for your Unicron crowdfunding order here.

TakaraTomy has opened for pre orders but these are NOT PART OF HASBRO'S CROWDFUNDING, unfortunately.

We have also received word that Robotkingdom was accepting pre-orders for this item but they have since closed the gates.

Also included in the pages about Unicron are some not too frequently seen images of his previous prototypes and retail releases throughout history.

We also see Omega Supreme from all new angles. It feels like if you haven't looked down on Omega Supreme from above when he's in base mode, you haven't fully grasped the awesomeness of this toy.

There's some additional shots of the 35th Anniversary Convoy two-pack with a G1 Optimus next to a repainted Studio Series Bumblebee Optimus, the 35th anniversary Gold Convoy fundraiser trophy, MP Smokescreen, and Siege Mirage.

Lastly towards the end are photos of the dynamic designs of two of the bots seen in last year's Transformers Bumblebee, Optimus Prime, and Blitzwing. These really give you great views of how well they captured the designs from the film.

As always enjoy the images and share your views with the Seibertron crew in the forums, and stay tuned to Seibertron for the ultimate in Transformers news!

Thanks to a heads up from Seibertronian Cyberpath, we have news that Lapooza Mega Store has put up their scans of the regularly scheduled Figure King Magazine, and #265 features some of the new Takara products that have been shown off this month.

Most prominent among the scans are images of Masterpiece Tigatron and Arcee, who were just revealed a few weeks ago over in Japan. Tigatron features some images of him standing side by side with Dinobot and Cheetor, and showcasing some robot and beast mode poses that he is most known for from the Beast Wars cartoon. Big Cat and Little Cat have reunited once more!

Arcee also gets a page, showing off her visor that she once used in the Battle of Autobot City in the 1986 movie, including some art of the character mode, and showing off some of her poses.

On the same page as Arcee, we also get to see Studio Series Megatron, Scavenger, and a smaller image of Devastator, who was revealed at the same time as Arcee and Tigatron.

Check out the scans below, and let us know what you think in the comments section below!

Goddammit. That Arcee have the ugliest backpack ever!
Rouge look way better than the official MP. Unfortunately, Rouge transform by exploding and hoping for the best.

Maybe one day we will have a clean looking Arcee that is fun to transform...

Also, still hoping that that G1 Unicron finally getting produced. I want to own that retro bot so bad!

I was wrong then when I wrote it must have been mistransformed. Turns out it was misdesigned.

So far, she's the best. Transformation don't look daunting like Rouge and she's at the right size. Plus her backpack is much better looking than the MP. However, I don't like the fact that you must change her hands for the fists to transform her and her chest hinge is pretty unsightly.

So Azalea is pretty damn close to perfection. but I'm not paying 100$+ for a "close enough" figure. Of course, final judgement about the official MP will be when YouTube reviewers finally have her in hands and show us how she properly work.

Backpack, head and arm joints letting her down. Liking the legs and torso but that's about it.
