WTF!
What was the slagging point of buying all these toys now when they were just gonna do better version months later! Oh man... HA. HA. HA. I need the number to their marketing manager or whatever and shake his/her hand. YOU ARE DOING A REAL GOOD JOB ON FINDING WAYS TO GET MY MONEY! First prices skyrocket. Then theres a shortage. And then the cycle starts all over again. (Not to mention the plethora of exclusives out there now)
Hasbro shoulda done the metallics first! DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME, you sons of a glitch!
Honestly, you guys who've been collecting for many years now. Is this NORMAL?! Do you usually buy multiples of the SAME FIGURE!? Not just the same character. BUT SAME FIGURE, with slight varieties. VERY SLIGHT. Why Hasbro?! WHYYYY!!!
<----is obviously not taking the news very well. XD
*sighs* I guess that means I'll just hold off of buying ANY figures till the new metallic ones come out. I'm in no way a completist in that sense, so I guess those type of collectors will be happy and dandy.
I just want a standard set of toys. Is that so bad? Damn scalpers!
Anyways, yey I guess... I swear, I really expect a bad ass TF sequel now.

I know for certain that 08 bumblebee will get a metallic paint finish...but If they do leader class Prime with chrome or at least silver metallic paint on the current grey parts I am gonna be so frickin pissed...I dont mind spending an extra 10 bucks on another deluxe but those Leader class 40 to 50 dollars I just dont wanna spend that kinda cash again for a figure that should have come with Chrome or metallic silver in the first place....does anyone else agree?

My prediction is that BB08 Jazz will get the treatment and Primes ugly grey will also be revamped along with the dreadful leader Megs.. and Starscream will get that cool metallic coppery colored treatment. It really makes me mad, I shelled out so much cash and now I am basically being told by the Friggin company that produces these things that I the ones I bought are inferior versions of that same product......WTF....WTF....God that makes me mad...I just wanna say "F.U. hasbro, That company is worse then the Ebay scalpers"

Yeah the point is Sentinel Pax, that this is not just some lil complaint. What that company is doing is an all out scam...is so underhanded... it really takes advantage of a fan that truly loves this franchise and instead of making it better for long time fans like me and a lot of others on these boards it really pisses us off that a frachise that we support and keep in business would use such asshole-ish tactics to bleed us dry....I cant tell you how much that burns me up..

HI
Yeah but how much will your figures be worth now? I am sure anyone who is just getting the movie line will only opt for the new metallic paint ones.....see this kinda bullsh!t business hasbro practices just makes it bad all around.
question... who took that hasbro tour at botcon? did you see any human shaped douche bags walking around the company?

Funniest post all night.
To answer your question, I didn't even attend Botcon, but I bet these douche bags were hidden in their offices, figuring out more ways to get our money.

This line is taking repaints to a whole new level. They're not even bothering to change the character names anymore. "Well, heres our Ratchet mold in 63 different colors!" Unbelievable.
And I don't mean this to sound angry or anything. I'm just amazed.

Ruthless Cynic wrote:Hasbro is a company. The primary purpose of a company is to make money, repaints mean they do not need new molds and are more profitable. If we want more Transformers and new molds we will just have to "suffer" through the repaints. I used to buy every figure of a line and I did not mind them that. This changed with the Movie. There is just too much stuff going on. Personally I am going to pick these bad boys up as I do not have the original molds, as I knew all the Voyager figures would be repainted in due time. Do not complain to the hand that feeds.
HI
Ohhhhhh.... I am so sorry Mr Hasbro company sir...here I will open my asshole up nice and wide so you can continue F-ing me..oh and please do it again and again with no lube......(sarcasm)
The hand that feeds???????? Hello we are the ones keeping this franchise alive.... as customers we should be treated with respect.. those figures should have been painted that way from day one....Two months later they all get the finishes they should have had? Bullshit....If these finishes would have been anounced from the start Then I as with a shit load of other Fans/Customers would have waited for these to come to store...and dont say that hasbro didnt know they would be producing these Figs two and a half months ago...What you had was a bunch of scheming Douche Bags at Hasbro looking to take advantage of us...plain and simple

It's because they got very little to work with in the first place. Five Autobots is hardly an Autobot army. Even 8 Decepticons is more a strike team than an army. So I am personally more surprised why they haven't brought in new characters in the form of modified molds or repaints. Not even the Allspark Power guys are enough if you ask me.

Heh, they should have discussed that with Mann if they had an issue with it. I mean, this is waaay above and beyond their ussual repaint numbers fsince it is the same character over and over. Add that to the 10 different types of packaging and that is a lot of variations for any completionist. Poor bastards.
I kind of feel like I've had too much ice cream to eat. You know, it is yummy and all, but eat too much and you feel sick and don't wzant to see any more ice cream for a while. I need a break from this movie line. I can't wait till it is done and the Universe Classics start hitting the shelves.

I'm willing to bet that Hasbro will only repaint these "Shiny" versions at the same quality level as the normal Movie line figures (ie not very well).
Not impressed at all.
Posted by 009* on October 16th, 2007 @ 1:13am CDT
And I'd have to see Leader Prime before I make up my mind.
Posted by Sid Burn on October 16th, 2007 @ 1:15am CDT
This kind of repaint doesnt help hasbro expand the brand, it helps dilute the fanbase by slapping its audience in the face.
We all want the best Transformers, I shouldnt have to worry that the ones I bought were a practice run before the "premium" ones come out.
Bumblebee to Cliffjumper is a repaint, this is a something else entirely.

Sid Burn wrote:Bumblebee to Cliffjumper is a repaint, this is a something else entirely.
What? A Shiny Repaint?
That's still a repaint, nothing about the figures themselves are new.
Posted by Bed Bugs on October 16th, 2007 @ 1:24am CDT
For example, it makes sense if they are trying to hold out on repainting Optimus Prime into Ultra Magnus if Ultra Magnus is in the sequel.
They probably did the Cliffjumper repaint since he has basically been a repaint of Bumblebee and he probably wouldn't fit in well in any of the future movies.
While doing what they are doing, they multiply the use of each mold while reserving characters for later.
