While I like how they remolded the threads to make a single one, I still think that this figure is an easy pass if you already got the Siege.
Unlike Optimus, I think we're still far from the "ultimate" Generations Megatron.

That's not true, in North Carolina I haven't seen anything.
I thought the classification stopped at Virginia. But maybe? It is frustrating that I can't find stuff, and it is seriously making me consider paying a scalper for the first time for the twin pack of Seekers.
I sold three of the Hotlink for 49.99 and free shipping on ebay. Hardly 'scum' prices. I made maybe 6 bucks.
Unfortunately it seems that most of the people who buy things specifically to sell on ebay are hardly as nice as you. Almost all of the Seeker 2 packs are being sold for over 100 dollars. That's for 2 Voyager figures. I think that's a little scummy.
I'm willing to wait for Skywarp and Thundercracker for that kind of money. 60 is bettet than 100+.
I figure while people are out there wanting these and they in my area I can make a few bucks (not gouging people) and they can get their figure. I'm far from a neckbeard.

Sabrblade, ER Megs' melee weapon is clearly a spear . See the lengthy haft formed by the tank barrel?Sabrblade wrote:Okay, so he actually can hold his sword like a sword.
Cool though the spear is, it by itself is not enough not enough to sell me on ER Megs when I already have the SIEGE version. Or change my opinion that his production run should be cut short, as many copies as possible recycled, and the molds used for an RiD 2001 (Ugh... Character name reuse is fine, but series name reuse is stupid) Bludgeon remake instead.

Agree on the series name reuse. Makes searching eBay a pain when all I want is RiD 2000/2001 stuff but it keeps throwing everything else at me.

I could see a massive retooling for a Bludgeon. But honestly, I'd rather see Bludgeon as his own unique mold. A leader class.
A new MEGA PRETENDER with a transformable shell with a GI-JOE like action figure inner bot. That inner fig would be a pure skeleton samurai. The shell would be an old tank model that transform into the skull-samurai similar to the ROTF version.
They could do this as a test.

You say that, but every toy of his that's come out has been consistently hard to find, even the new crappy cyberverse brick one

If they went with RiD 2001 Bludgeon, no real retooling would be necessary IMO. And it would be a better use of the mold and the slot than a marginally different shelfclogger Megs with an inferior head.Skritz wrote:Optimutt wrote:If Hasbro wants to keep reusing this mold, then they should give us a bitching Bludgeon, who would use the mold really well.

All while Target now says shipping is unavailable. It makes me almost want to pay that much, but it's almost double the price for 2 voyagers. I'm holding out hope that maybe stores around me might get some in stock eventually, and they don't all get bought up by scalpers.

As soon as I saw the “in stock” notice on Target’s site for my local store, I drove over, and while there were none on the shelves, a helpful employee looked on his handheld device and said there some in the stock room, so he went and found one for me and brought it up front. At this point, if you can’t find it in Target stores, that may be the best price you see since they are going for around $150 on Ebay.

Yeah, I have been checking the stock for my stores several times a day lately, and they have not gotten any in at all, in like the whole state of North Carolina yet. I'm hoping that they do soon, it seems crazy that they haven't yet.

I would recommend waiting things out a little bit. Last year the Rainmakers set trickled out similarly, then were out in full force and by back to school time, many stores were clearancing them. They also came into and out of stock on Target's website a couple times as well with a few of the times being available for a while, not just blink and you miss it.

For sure. These are not limited and every piece of stock destined to the US is going to Target so these will be easier for Americans to find than most mainline releases.

I wouldn’t bet on it. The demand for these—particularly considering that in the past Thundercracker and Skywarp were virtually never released together, with one of them virtually always being a huge pain to track down for purchase—will be *very* high, far more than the rainmakers, which are much more of a niche group of characters.

It will be the Siege Skywarp thing all over again. That 2-pack will be SCALPED to hell and back.
WHAT WAS THE BIG IDEA TO MAKE IT AN EXCLUSIVE?

I'm actually talking about the 2 pack, who is a Target exclusive. And if it's a Target exclusive down south, it will be an exclusive of some sort up north too.
And because Skywarp and TC are characters that every fans want, they will be scalper fodder in no time flat unless Hasbro is flooding the market.

Well, it's been a good run guys, but I guess I have to throw in the towel, apparently I can't be a fan anymore because I don't want this 2-pack.
In all seriousness, it's highly likely these two are exclusives like this because that was the only way for them to be released. This is just how most of the repaint characters get sold now, due to the limited nature of the mainline slots, as we've seen with half of the Siege Datsuns and 6/8 of the Siege Seekers. It's either this 2-pack, or we lose Snapdragon and Thrust or some other combination of Voyagers to make room for these two, and then the ones that got replaced become exclusives or don't get made.
...that being said, I'm also still annoyed that the ER Seeker mold is a thing not even a year after the excellent Siege one, let alone that I think it looks bad in every form we've seen it so far (not counting the mistransformed leaked Thrust, since we haven't really seen it in it's proper form), so this isn't an argument I actually have stake in.

I had much the same response.... until I had these figures in hand. They are far away the best “feeling” figures in the main line in a very long time. The plastic has a heft and feel unlike even the Siege line did. The joints are extremely stable and tight without being immovable, the paint is fantastic, and even the weapon “C.O.M.B.A.T.” ports are tighter than the tetrajet versions, which were rather loose on both Starscream and Thundercracker. The gaps in the sides of the abdomens are a bummer, but other than that they look phenomenal on the shelf, and they are definitely the best looking mainline seekers ever released.

In NC with no luck, been watching Target and Brickseek's websites. Yeah, I got two of those emails, and they were sold out instantly both times. Now they aren't shipping from Target's website at all it seems. Keeping up some hope that we will see them in stores soon.

Meanwhile, it looks like angry fans are review bombing the set on Target.com. Currently has one written review of 5.0 and eight unwritten reviews of unknown amount bringing the overall score down to 3.3. Target doesn't break down their scores like Amazon does and there are probably a few legit ones, but also probably a bunch of 1 stars.

^^ This. There's only so much space in the mainline, especially given that HasTak wants to produce all of the seekers in the same line. Gone are the days when the Classics seekers were released over a 4-5 year span - 4 years from now we'll probably be looking at another new "definitive" seeker mold.

Probably not the "truly definitive" F-15 style, but I can see the next set heading back to F-22 style...
