The rest of that image has both of Trions alt modes, and cross sells for Brawn, Chromedome, Astrotrain, and Soudnwave.

I really wish we saw the rest I am so curious to see how such different altmodes can work on one toy.

Secondly, lookin good there sovereign, seems like he really us a mini alpha trion, well as much as I can make out anyway.

I like that Alpha Trion face. The sharpness and particularly the eyes remind me of Geoff Senior's artwork which for me is a big plus.

I can vouch for Down Shift's info. A3's spaceship mode looks like the SDF-1 from Macross. There is a cockpit at the back where the TM sits. A3's sword becomes the lion tail.

You guys are killing us. Can you post the pic, or a link, or e-mail it to the news staff?

That doesnt answer my question. What is puzzling me with this guy is how different the two alt modes are. Does it show that they conflict with eachother?

From what I can tell, A3's legs form the front of the spaceship and the hindquarters of the lion. his top half forms the rear of the ship and the front legs / head of the lion (arms become the front legs).

Because of this he does have short hind legs unlike a RL lion.

His shoulders are higher than his hips because that is where the cockpit is in lion mode.

It's an odd spaceship mode. The two halves of the lion/unicorn (or "Lionicorn") head are tucked away at the back of the ship mode. From the front it looks okay, but from behind it doesn't look very good. The animal mode is the weakest of the three. From the pictures I've seen it has like, zero articulation, and the sword tail looks silly. I mean, as silly as a purple and pink space ship lion-thingy can look.

The arms become the front legs? Thats a bit odd since we can see his front legs at the bottom of his torso and they are independent of his arms.

Also, I totally see tha ship now. Its not a big transformation from the robot mode, you just tab the legs together and tuck the arms inward and you can see a very triangular ship forming with a narrow nose and a back which fans out due to the lion heads that end with a wing/unicorn. Where is the cockpit though, can anyone point it out in the robot mode art I posted?

The arms are actually part of the main, his front animal legs are part of his lower torso.

There's a point to be made about when the Universe and Generartions lines did non-G1 characters vs when they did only G1 characters.

Universe in its first year, 2008, was like a continuation of Classics as it only had G1 characters. In its second year, 2009, however, it did characters from several series, but that was because 2009 was the 25th anniversary year.

Likewise, Generations in its first two years, 2010-2011, did four WFC characters and then nothing but G1 characters (with a small few of the G1 characters having some IDW influence in their designs). In its third and fourth years, 2012-2013, it did only FOC characters, and then finally in late 2013 to all of 2014 did it do multi-series characters. But like with Universe's second year, 2014 was the 30th anniversary year.

For both lines, only when there was an anniversary year in effect did each line make toys from all kinds of non-G1 series. Before and after those years, though, they only did G1 characters (or strongly G1-influenced characters, in regards to the WFC/FOC toys). Therefore, it stands to reason that the wider selection of toys produced during the two anniversary years were the exceptions to the norm, instead of the norm itself.

I don't want to know what his connections are. That he has any is enough clarification for my confusion. All is clear and understood now.

So, one of my friends said that Sovereign looks terrible just because his face isn isn't painted. I have no issue with this (mainly because I could just paint it myself, in fact, my friend makes customs, so he could also just paint it himself), but I can see how people who don't have very good painting skills would be really put off by it. Also, it is probably just a prototype. Maybe the final production version will have a painted face? Well, we'll just have to wait and see.

I doubt it. If anything, the final products usually have less paint than the shown hasbro prototypes.

That's actually very true. I honestly can't think of an instance where the final looked as good as or better than the prototype. That was just wishful thinking on my part.

Laserbeak, seen here for the first time, is a repaint of the previously seen Buzzsaw, while Rumble is a slight retool of Rewind, finally being shown off for the first time with his new head after being shown with a repainted Rewind head at comic con.
