Eh, I was hoping for better on the back of the legs. It looked better from the front. Still, I gues Primal isn't ever going to be mooning on my shelf. And dual cannon in each arm confirmed. That pleases me.

I was about to say, if you keep all of your beast-formers on a shelf, mooning you, you might need some help

I dunno, doesn't seem fair to speculate price without seeing how he scales with other figures... He could be the size of mp bb, or the size of mp 10
It would be interesting if they do multiple bw mp's if thy do stick to a congruent scale, b/c megs was much bigger in both modes as compared to primal

This is my motto for the season.
Anyways: It's a hominid turning into a hominid. Not a lot of options for the back legs without shell-forming. And if there's noise about butt-tires, there will definitely be noise about shell-forming.

Not if it's done intelligently (i.e. not like MP 28 ) the only issue is where to store the panelsvand how to maintain articulation - as that was obviously a design priority (thankfully)

Really? Is there any evidence to that? Because in robot mode, they looked to be about the same size. They are the same height in Beast Mode too, its just that Megs has a very long tail.
I do know for a fact that the show designers made Primal to be the same size as Megatron inorder to reference the King Kong vs Godzilla fight.

Not the best, but it shows that he is substantially bigger than o/p
But I found these, they're pretty interesting:

About deluxe size
No, mp primal has to be at least mp datsun sized, it would give them the breathing room they need to make more of the cast.

19cm is about 8 inches tall, and am I confused in saying that is about the size of voyagers now? If so, that's not too bad a scale.
Posted by Cobotron on February 2nd, 2016 @ 3:12pm CST
I have OG Primal right here on my desk and he measures about 8.5 inches tall. The MP Datsun stands about 6.5 in robot mode. The average Voyager is around 7 in.
It seems he will scale well with the previous Gen Rhinox and Rattrap.

Well not really. Rhinox is taller than Opimus
So its not a perfect scale, but its ok, not as great s this though:

Yes, the 8 year old me was always ok with that logic. Hence why it was fine that the Ultra Primal was bigger than Rhinox.
But this just shows that this toy is indeed in a league of his own for the moment. It's not a classics, its a freaken MP!!!

I'm actually a wee bit sad though. I really want a masterpiece Trailbreaker, but if they are starting up Beast Wars masterpiece, that chance is suddenly looking like it may take a long time

You know, this licensing thing always sounds odd to me. Of course, there is a cost somewhere, but look at AOE. Toys with licenses from Bugatti and Lambourghini were selling for the same price as the toy of transforming triceratops.

I have virtually no connection to him either, but it never hurts to see guys you don't really know or care for get a toy and then realize "damn that's really awesome." that's how it was for Saber for me. He was just so cool and then I looked into his actual history then he showed up (very differently) in IDW, so it made sense and now I have slowly started looking more into and respecting japanese shows. They did some fun and different stuff that I appreciate.
plus for some he was a true treat, the same way Primal here will be a true treat for the 90's children who loved beast wars. it will be a dream come true. It is comparable to me 15-20 years down the road getting a masterpiece Animated Bulkhead or ninja Prowl or a Prime Smokescreen or Bulkhead (I really like Bulk, he's up there on my top 5 list too). Those to me would be truly spectacular

No argument from me. I didn't word that statement well. I meant that I could see how some would worry about the G1 theme that has been going on getting interupted. I've come close to pulling the trigger on Saber several times, he truly looks amazing, but there are so many other MP level figures that I have a better connection with that always win out.

I have yet to actually pull the trigger on a masterpiece. I have come close with Sideswipe a few times but just can't really afford to at this point in life. Trailbreaker would be a yes no matter when it was, I just want him.
Now Primal here: he makes me think. See, I wasn't into beast formers for a while, but after binge Watching all of Beast Wars during a week of work where I was bored as all get out after about 4pm, I came to really like it. That made me get Rattrap and Rhinox, and I really like Rhinox. If I had the money available to buy him? Yes, along with Sideswipe.
and masterpiece to me feels like getting that perfect version of the character you love so much, so while I fully urge Star Saber, I can totally understand going another route for that character close to you.
