We first reported on the new Netflix 80s nostalgia grab show The Toys That Made us back in January. The series will see 8 focused episodes, each on a different franchise from the last century (yep; millennium too) including Star Wars, Hello Kitty, Lego, Star Trek, GI Joe, Masters of the Universe, Barbie and of course, Transformers.

In June, we then reported that site owner Ryan Yzquierdo will be featuring in the Transformers episode, which will air at some point after the start of the series on December 22nd. Is this post bringing us any new information? Not really, no. Consider it a reminder of some expansion to the Seibertron.com presence in popular media, as Ryan will be featuring alongside comics creator Bob Budiansky, voice legend Peter Cullen, other collectors in the Transformers fandom, and many more! Will you be tuning in?

In our coverage of the events from Tokyo Comic Con 2017, we included images of the main stage with the Takara Tomy promotional celebration of Transformers: The Last Knight, with its home release hitting Japanese retail next week - as you can see here, the stage hosted both comedian Junichi Davidson (wearing the G1 art t-shirt) and music artist Okazaki Taiiku / Physical Education.

The latter was apparently involved in launching his latest single, a collaboration between the artist and the Transformers franchise, titled Emblem. This is not the first song connected to the movie, as Torches received both the Chinese release treatment with a cover by Zhang Jie and the original version in the trailer from X Ambassadors, as well as Steve Jablonsky and Celldweller working on the score. The track, which you can find on iTunes here, or check out a sample below, is closer to the style of the latter as you'll see - give it a listen!

Welcome to the latest Seibertron.com Twincast / Podcast Mainframes episode, this time devoted to issue #11 of IDW's Lost Light. Join host ScottyP along with Counterpunch, Dr. Va'al, Megatronus, and Razorclaw0000 as we fill in more blanks in a detailed look through the second chapter of The Mutineers Trilogy.

Episode #190 "Spacebridge Sunset Boulevard" is available directly and in our RSS Feed, and should appear on iTunes, Google Play, and Stitcher Radio within 24 to 48 hours of when you see this news post.

Be aware that this episode is entirely about IDW Transformers comics and will completely spoil many storylines from several books, including many books before Lost Light Issue 11, so listening after catching up with the most recent material is recommended if you wish to avoid spoilers. New to Mainframes? Catch up on the last episode where we dissected Lost Light 8 and 9.

Covering Issue 11 "The Plotters' Club (Part 2): Filling in the Blanks", the episode digs into the characters and events of this latest chapter, with analysis and opinions on each twist, turn, and new development. If you haven't done so already, remember that you can check out the review for issue 11 here for a written take on the story, with reader comments from the Energon Pub Forums also available for even more perspectives from the Seibertron.com community.

Transformers News: Twincast / Podcast Episode #190 "Spacebridge Sunset Boulevard"
Voted "Best Panel of the Issue" by the population of Earth

The episode starts off with a look into Getaway, the narcissistic mastermind behind the infamous mutiny aboard the Lost Light. The cast has varying opinions about the direction taken with the character, but there is universal agreement that all doubt has been removed that he's the definitive villain of this story arc. Did the writing take that direction a step too far, or did the dialogue and character interactions lend a deeper scope of characterization?

Transformers News: Twincast / Podcast Episode #190 "Spacebridge Sunset Boulevard"
I'm ready for my closeup!

Getaway didn't act alone, and looks at other mutineers encountered throughout the story follow. Simple-minded Riptide seems unlucky, and we look at whether or not some boat magic could help him breach the surface of a bad situation. The walking role model of an Autobot himself, Thunderclash, also gets some time under the microscope, with the microscope himself getting at least a little attention as well throughout our discussions.

Transformers News: Twincast / Podcast Episode #190 "Spacebridge Sunset Boulevard"
Perpetually on the injured reserve, unfortunately

Of course, there is still a quest at hand, with this latest chapter showing that progress is being made and means are available to make even more. A look into the overall story of MTMTE/Lost Light and how this issue factors in can be found in the episode, with other speculation on how it relates to the IDW Transformers and Hasbro universe on the whole and how it could tie in to the upcoming Unicron story also covered. Razorclaw0000 also ponders the pacing, with Counterpunch presenting an alternate path the story could have taken to frame the events being witnessed.

Transformers News: Twincast / Podcast Episode #190 "Spacebridge Sunset Boulevard"
More than just a series of tubes

There's one bot that frames disagreement among the cast - Atomizer. With doubts as to his motivations and suspicions to his origins, the speculation on exactly what's up with Getaway's second-in-command range from completely writing him off as room decoration to placing him as a key element in a much larger, darker conspiracy. Listen in to hear about some of the ideas about what exactly could be up with this conspicuously mysterious character.

Transformers News: Twincast / Podcast Episode #190 "Spacebridge Sunset Boulevard"
Whatever he's really there for, someone get him to target practice

Listen in for all this and... Death's Head!?

Welcome to the latest episode of the Seibertron.com Twincast / Podcast! This episode features your host ScottyP with Megatronus, RodimusConvoy13, and xRotorstormx. Listen in as we discuss the latest news, toys, and more.

Episode #189 "S.O.S. Dinobots" is available directly and in our RSS Feed, and should appear on iTunes, Google Play, and Stitcher Radio within 24 to 48 hours of when you see this news post.

The cast has obtained select Power of the Primes deluxe class and legends class figures, and we're ready to share our thoughts. Each of the deluxe class figures has their allure, but Dreadwind and Swoop appear to be the consensus favorites. On the legends side, Beachcomber is groovy, and Windcharger is still... questionable. But at the end of the day, we're still asking the million dollar question: who asked for combining Dinobots?

Transformers News: Twincast / Podcast Episode #189 "S.O.S. Dinobots"
Not just a redeco.

We sidebar for a short discussion on the surprisingly good deluxe Power of the Primes Jazz - that car mode is fantastic - and the even more surprising Cybertronian-coded MAGA tampo on his side. The crew does its level best to explain the situation, from the context on why this particular acronym might be offensive to many, our personal disappointment in the sullying of this minority-voiced character, to the shortcomings in Hasbro's official response.

Transformers News: Twincast / Podcast Episode #189 "S.O.S. Dinobots"
It's no joke.

Onto equally wacky but more upbeat topics, we've got wind of the upcoming Street Fighter II crossover, featuring Titans Returns Optimus Prime, Megatron, and Hot Rod as Ryu, M. Bison, and Ken, as well as Generations IDW Arcee as Chunli. These are some difficult repaints to justify a secondary purchase, but we're sure there are fans out there who are just as excited as we are intrigued.

Transformers News: Twincast / Podcast Episode #189 "S.O.S. Dinobots"
All hail MEGS Bison!

Speaking of redecos, MP12+ Lambor (AKA Sideswipe) has started shipping out to those fans looking for a G1/anime-accurate color scheme. ScottyP walks us through the differences, including the varying shades of white and the MP14 face sculpt used for this release. Although the crew predicts only dedicated MP collectors will make the jump for this release, we hope for more MP+ announcements, particularly an MP10+ and perhaps even a whole new Optimus Prime 3.0.

Transformers News: Twincast / Podcast Episode #189 "S.O.S. Dinobots"
He's got white booties!!!

We quickly move to another piece of Masterpiece news - the full reveal of MP Dinobot. Select alt-mode weaknesses aside, this figure already appears to be a landmark feat of engineering, and the Generations crossover display possibilities have us chomping at the golden disk. Dinobot's high price point, however, leads us to speculate on the body-blow a potential Beast Wars Megatron has in store for our wallets..

Transformers News: Twincast / Podcast Episode #189 "S.O.S. Dinobots"
Money shot.

Masterpiece news isn't over yet, folks - we've still got Movie Masterpiece Barricade on the docket, and his full reveal has got us in a tizzy. It's amazing what one forgets over 10 years, and so the crew parses over specific design cues, and their accuracy - including the face sculpt, claws, and the conspicuous lack of Frenzy. Either way, we highly anticipate some racy interrogations of LadiesMan217 ahead.

Transformers News: Twincast / Podcast Episode #189 "S.O.S. Dinobots"
Mischief, managed.

ScottyP provides some thoughts on the RID15 cartoon conclusion, and then we jump right into Optimus Prime #13 - official Seibertron.com review here. Though this issue starts a slow but welcome consolidation of open threads, questions remain. How is Onyx Prime influencing events? When are they going to finally elaborate on Bludgeon's Unicron connection? Will the reemergence of the Dinobots lead us back to Grimlock? Most importantly... could Prowl be any more badass?

Transformers News: Twincast / Podcast Episode #189 "S.O.S. Dinobots"
Oh, those Dinobots - always getting into trouble.

Bragging Rights for the holidays: what's on our holiday wish lists, and what did we score on Black Friday?

Transformers News: Twincast / Podcast Episode #189 "S.O.S. Dinobots"
We gotta have it.

We've received news directly from Kabam and Hasbro about the latest addition to the mobile game Transformers: Forged to Fight, a character that was already present in the game in another iteration, but now joining as a more 'classic' looking version of himself: Decepticon leader, Megatron.

Sporting the Combiner Wars Leader class toy mould, with tank alt-mode, Megatron is apparently classified as a Tactician class and is still part of the Decepticon Faction (though the game doesn't follow them too strictly). Take a look below at the model, and the new information about the playable character!

Faction: Decepticon

Class: Tactician

Once a renowned gladiator in pre-Civil-War Cybertron, Megatron used his charisma and brutality to fuel the Decepticon uprising. Megatron’s ultimate goal is to rule over all living beings, only his sworn enemies, Optimus Prime and the Autobots stand between him and his goal of supreme authority.

Via the official product page for the figures over on Gaki-DVD.Yoshimoto.co.jp, we have some new images of the previously reported set of Titan Masters molded after the Japanese comedy duo Downtown: Transformers Hamada Robo ~ Donalimas ~ & Transformers Matsumoto Robo ~ Guilty Mass ~! These two new robots turn into the faces of the two comedians from the Science Laboratory skit of their show “Downtown no Gaki no Tsukai ya Arahende!” (“Downtown’s This Is No Task for Kids!”), where they are dressed up as scientists and have round glasses.

We also get to see the Cerebros head ready to be attached to Fortress Maximus, which was missing from the previous story. As a reminder, the promotional set will only be available via puchasing the Limited Edition BluRay/DVD of Downtown's work, which will come with a serial number to pre-order the figures, which cost ¥9,504, between November 28th 2017 and January 31st 2018. Release is expected to take place in summer 2018. Take a look below!

Several months ago, Hasbro sent out a press release highlighting their new campaign to connect faces and names to the gigantic toymaker company, called Hasbro Stories. As a series of short clips on YouTube, they spotlighted employees and departments that sparked the interest of potential viewers, from personal hobbies to connections to the brands they work on, giving a human face to the usually corporate reality for a wider audience.

Well, they're back! We have a whole list of clips for you to enjoy, spanning from My Little Pony to Consumer Care, to Baby Alive and Global Philantropy - and of course, Transformers. Two clips in particular are included below, focusing on Corey and Thor & Amanda. Corey is the eye behind the lens that has taken pretty much all the stock photography images of the figures we know and love (and many other Hasbro products); couple Thor and Amanda met through Transformers, and share an interest with each other, and about each other, and can be seen in a number of images with the franchise and the brand team for our robotic plastic friends. Check out the clips below!
