The BotCon Timelines comics.

Do these comics that come with the boxed sets every year stand alone, or are they connected somehow?

Games of Deception is connected to Invasion, which is connected to Shattered Glass. Wings of Honor, G2: Redux(epilogue connects to Shattered Glass), Termination, and Hoist the Flag are a series(along with the club magazine storylines Coming Storm, Battle Lines, and A Flash Forward). The other 3 are stand alone.

Yes and no. All of them are meant to be standalone one-shot stories, but each of them are part of a greater universe/continuity.

2005 - "Descent Into Evil" - the only real exception to the above since it came first

2006 - "Dawn of Future's Past" - part of the Beast Wars cartoon continuity

2007 - "Games of Deception" - part of the Classics comics continuity, and slightly related to a TransTech text story

2008 - "Shattered Glass" - began as standalone but later spawned more fiction set in this universe, and slightly related to the 2006 Classics comics in the TCC magazine

2009 - "Wings of Honor" - began as standalone but later spawned more fiction set in this "Wings Universe", which is also based on the G1 cartoon continuity

2010 - "Generation 2: Redux" - part of the Wings Universe, set in the future

2011 - "The Stunti-Con Job" - set in the Animated cartoon continuity

2012 - "Invasion" - crossover story connected to both the Classics comics continuity and the Shattered Glass continuity, and loosely related to TransTech

2013 - "Termination" - set in the Wings Universe further in the future

2014 - "Hoist the Flag" - set in the Wings Universe in the far far distant future, and based on the Beast Wars/Machines cartoon continuity and the 3H comics.

And there's all the TCC magazine fiction and the text stories which amount to further connections.

Oh wow, that's a lot of different stuff. I don't have all the BotCon sets, but I have read a few of the comics. I wanted to see if it would be worth the attempt to collect the others from eBay sellers or other places, if they're a part of the same story in general, but looks like it might be a wasted effort. :-?

I once wrote a list of all TCC fiction there is and grouped them by continuity. If I can find it, I'll try to update it (since more fiction has been produced since my writing it) and post it, if you'd like.

Though, note that the list was written in the order in which the media was published, rather than the fictional chronological order of each story.

As long as all the parts of the story are there, it makes no difference which order they come in. Thanks! ;)^

Here's a list of everything released thus far in order by release date, encompassing magazine comics, convention comics, text stories, live script readings, one-shot comics, online comics, other magazine content, etc. etc.

To make thing easier, I've color coded it all by continuity (let me know if any colors need changing for better visibility)

Peach = Unicron Trilogy
Red = "Descent into Evil"
Green = Beast Era
Orange = Classics
Gray = TransTech
Pink = Shattered Glass
Blue = Wings Universe
Yellow = Animated
Purple = Aligned Continuity
Teal = Beast Wars: Uprising
Brown = IDW G1 (or worlds based on it)
No color = unspecified

Holy crap that's a lot. I was trying to focus on Classics and Wings Universe, but that's a hell of a lot to track down.

Well, to be fair, though I was listing everything individually, not everything was released individually. A LOT of the above were included together in things like magazines or the Diamond Edition convention comics.

For instance, every "Around Cybertron" and "Recordicons" story is included in a magazine issue that also contains a comic story. And nearly every Diamond Edition release of the convention comics includes whatever pre- or post-comic story material that was produced to be in conjunction with the comic itself.

Plus, there's also compiled volume releases (not unlike trade paperbacks) of the earlier magazine issues that group together five issues in each. Thus, there are volumes for the 2005, 2006, and 2007 issues.

Though, not everything in the above list can be tracked down and physically owned, due to their intangible nature. Like, all of the text stories exist as online PDF files, and all of the live script readings were exactly that: live performances.

This is a great resource you've put together here. They've got so many timelines and universes going that it makes my head spin, so hopefully I can use this to try and separate what often seems like non-sensical stuff going on.

Glad you like it.

Though, as I said in the other thread, keep in mind that this is all production order whilst not everything released in this order is necessarily in chronological order. Some things released later might take place before, during, or even eons after other things released earlier.

And some storylines even transcend universes, requiring some things set in one universe to be read before or after other things set in different universes.

If you'd like, I could go through the list and pick out the few items that ought to be read better out of production order.

Just read through Balancing Act/Revelations for the first time. It was really cool to see some added continuity to the Unicron Trilogy. Not having read the Universe comics made the whole Sentinel Maximus/Omega Prime thing feel a bit out-of-nowhere, but that's more on me.

You're not missing out on much. Universe was canceled after just three issues due to the company going out of business, and that was before it got to Omega Prime's proper introduction. The third issue was about to bring him in, but this is all we got before it went under:

As for Sentinel Maximus, his origin story didn't actually get published until after Balancing Act and Revelations, and came in the form of a prose story instead of a comic.

The Timelines/Universe comics have always seemed so interesting to me, but this is the reason I've never read them before. It seems so unnecessarily difficult to follow.
