Sure there is, it's just a little looser than before. Micromasters become weapons or armor and most combine and all the leaders so far have had voyager sized base robots that armor/weapon up. I'd be shocked if any new Siege leaders don't have an armor/weapon size changing gimmick.Emerje wrote:But there are no size class gimmicks in Siege. If armor was mandated then Hasbro would advertise the hell out of it every chance they had like the evolution gimmick of PotP Leaders or the Triplechanger gimmick of TR Voyagers.carytheone wrote:Does it even make a difference with Siege? I'll toss this out again. If Astrotrain comes to Siege as a leader he will have armor because Hasbro likes to stick with size class gimmicks. His nekked alt mode will be a train of sorts and then it will partially transform and armor up to become a larger shuttle. We'll get some parts forming mass shifting.

I agree, I'm just basing my guess/speculation on their Prime Wars track record of forcing gimmicks on size classes. So far from what we've seen Siege is doing the same thing with the leader class.Nemesis Maximo wrote:That’s a gimmick that just doesn’t work for Astrotrain IMO.
Skritz wrote:I gotta say its really weird for Astrotrain to show up when he just got a toy in Titans Return. Yes, I know this is a GEEWUN pandering line but so far, Siege hasn't really stepped on any toes of the previous lines (unless its a 'mandatory character') unless it really felt the need to give a toy/cartoon accurate update. I'd argue Astrotrain doesn't seem such a pressing matter, unless people at Hasbro felt this line really badly needed a purple 'cybertronian' steam locomotive. Not only that but Leader class seems odd for a guy like Astrotrain in terms of popularity.
Anyone else suspect he's a pretool to someone else?
That would actually make more sense. A troop transport for each faction.JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:Anyone thinking this rumored Astrotrain may actually be Commander Class and not Leader?

But will he still be a triple changer?

Yes. Now go to your room and don't play with yourself.
Wolfman Jake wrote:Does anyone know exactly how big Astrotrain is supposed to be in robot mode (at least according to the original Sunbow produced cartoon)? I've seen a lot of scale/size and style guides for G1 characters out there, but haven't found one that includes Astrotrain or Blitzwing along with their contemporary Decepticon comrades. I found a still of Astrotrain crowning Starscream from The Transformers: The Movie, so they look to be of about equal stature, but we all know G1 is never consistent with its scaling in the cartoon, so one scene isn't enough evidence to prove a case for whether Astrotrain should be a Voyager or Leader scaled figure.

He cant be since the preorders people can actually pay for right now have him pegged as both a leader and coming in a 2 leader case.
Here is my prediction, it will be a triple changer with g1 styled modes.

That makes the most sense. It would be pretty cool to see how they do that as well. Since robot scale is so important in this line I am guessing he will be approx voyager sized in robot mode but thick (high parts count) and with accessories. I am thinking a cool idea would be tracks that are weaponizing parts or some such.
That said I am almost certain Astrotrain is not a Siege figure, although a December release date is a definite gray area for Leaders (usually listed as Jan for the new lines/waves).
Are we at a point were we should start a WFC pt2 thread or should it all stay here for now?

Also, I want an Astrotrain has has a steam locomotive alternate mode, please. That's all I really want.

How did you come up with this projection for the Voyager waves? I would just assume Wave 4 is Apeface for now. Why repeat Thundercracker and then have have a fifth wave with Apeface again?
