Guillermo del Toro, althuoght it is highly unlikely, since he have it's own Franchise in great Pacific Rim...

So maybe someone young and promising?

Forget Pacific Rim, he's got another two movies I want him working on, the Justice League Dark movie and his adaptation of At the Mountains of Madness...and that one I've been waiting a good while for!

The only director other than Bay I want touching the franchise is Quentin Tarantino. It will never happen, but just imagine. That movie would be existence realized.
