Courtesy of Takara Tomy, we have details about the regularly occuring event Wonderfest and its 2018 edition, and more specifically, the Takara Tomy Transformers presence at the festival. Wonderfest will take place concurrently with New York Toy Fair on Sunday 18th February 2018 (NYTF is 17-20th February), and only lasts the one day at the Makuhari Messe area in Chiba, outside Tokyo.

According to Takara Tomy, we will see their Power of the Primes figures debuting (though yes, they are the same as the Hasbro releases), as well as movieverse toys and displays covering lines such as Movie the Best, Lost Age, and The Last Knight, with some speculation about the new Studio Series too. The event will also bring an exclusive Takara Tomy Mall Evasion Mode Nemesis Prime, not available physically at the show but to be pre-ordered during Wonderfest, with delivery later in the week. Wasn't expecting that as their exclusive, thought they'd go for an MP or maybe a Legends Blitzwing repaint based on the G1 Overcharge drones featured in the latest Legends comics.

Doesn't matter, that figure looks great. Looking forward to pre-orders, though I do wish they had given us time to prepare.

Different show, the first one was for Transformers Expo 2014. Aside from that, no changes made for this one.

Wow. Takara is choooooooo "kechi" these days! You can even get this version as a KO at Sirtoys ( http://sirtoys.com/toys.php?c=23&p=2624 ... _Blue.html ), not the mention the original TT version. Heck, you might as well get the gorgeous OSKO Nemesis Evasion Prime ( http://sirtoys.com/toys.php?c=23&p=2750 ... Black.html).

Obviously, the regular-sized official version looks better (more paint apps, faceplate, etc) but if you can't get an official on the day...

I REALLY hope this is a mistake, and they are going to release a new toy this year...

Edit: - I THINK it's not just Nemesis, but some of TT Mall's old stock of exclusive figures? If they are going cheap, it might be worth it, but I'm sure it will all get scalped...

It looks likes Wonderfest 2018 - the Japanese one-day hobby industry event taking place outside Tokyo, usually coinciding with the New York Toy Fair - will be seeing even more black, purple and blue toys, as the official Twitter [url]account[/url] for Takara Tomy Transformers has shared some images of another 'Nemesis' version of a movieverse toy: Voyager Grimlock from the Age of Extinction line!

According to a very bad machine translation of the post, it'll be some kind of point-based purchase, and the listing on the official Wonderfest page on the Takara Tomy site included a full list of other toys that will be available to pre-order during the event, including the likes of LG-EX God Ginrai, UW-EX Lynxmaster and Megatronia, several Masterpiece figures including the recent MP 15/16 E Cassettebots vs Cassettrons, the two Nemesis figures, Movie The Best Laserbeak (Pink Bumblebee), and more. Nemesis Grimlock is great. I bought it AND an OSKO version, which I partially repainted.

I suppose they could have, but this is just a reissue from 2014. He's meant to be paired with Nemesis Prime who is also being reissued at Wonder Festival 2018 Winter.

Man, Nightmare Megatron is getting a third release? :shock:

I don't get it, the aftermarket price has completely crashed in Japan on these after the second release. Originally they were going for a little under $200, now they can be found for $75! A third release is pointless.
