Courtesy of the Prime 1 Studio Facebook page, we have some new images of their latest movieverse statue - and we're dipping into Transformers: The Last Knight with the chihuahua-lovin' MMTFM-18 Sqweeks! Check out some selected images mirrored below, and the full works right over here.

Prime 1 Studio is proud to present MMTFM-18: Autobot Sqweeks Half-Scale statue from The Transformers: The Last Knight film. The diminutive robot has huge bulbous headlights for eyes, extensive damage from rust erosion, and a peg leg to bring his whole look together. Sqweeks is a small-sized Autobot. He is the only friend of Izabella and transforms into a turquoise Vespa. He is a refugee Transformer who was severely damaged in the battle of Chicago, during the events of Transformers: Dark of the Moon. His resulting injuries have left him with calamity of ailments, none bigger than losing his ability to transform into his original form. Statue features: - Size approximately 24 inches [H:60.6cm W:46.5cm D:42.3cm] - LED functions on eyes - Limited Quantity worldwide Retail Price: $ 1499 US Edition Size: 500 Prototype samples shown. Prime 1 Studio Beast Wars Megatron had been released at SDCC 2017. We are just now seeing more images of this massive statue via facebook. Prime 1's facebook page gives us more details about the statue, letting us know that the eyes and his arm contain LED lights. Also we would like to mention that this statue stands a whopping 27 inches tall! If you want one of these dinosaur sized statues you are going to have to clear a space, that's for sure!

It bothers me to look at pictures of this thing because its such a remarkable piece of art but it fits nowhere in my collection or in my limited space!

Regardless....this figure is a beautiful thing.

We head back to the Facebook page of Prime 1 Studios for a new look at their latest product in the Transformers movieverse line: MMTFM-15 Barricade, in his first incarnation from 2007 (not the bulkier The Last Knight one)! Check out the description and images below, head here for the full album, and let us know what you think in the Energon Pub!

MMTFM-15: BARRICADE (TRANSFORMERS 2007) "ARE YOU USERNAME: LADIESMAN217?" Prime 1 Studio is proud to present MMTFM-15: Barricade from Transformers Film. Barricade is apparently a complicated robot. He believes that Starscream is vital in their search for Megatron and the AllSpark. In many ways, this makes him Starscream's closest ally in the naturally combative Decepticon ranks. Then again, it's been said that he likes to trick people into trusting him, just so he can see their reactions when they find out just how much of a bad idea it was. As such, he has disguised himself as an Earth police car in an attempt to fool the humans around him. Statue features: - Size approx. 30 inches tall [(H)64.5cm (W)50cm (D)43cm] - LED Light-up function on head - Limited quantity worldwide Retail Price: $1499 US Edition Size: 750 Prototype samples shown. Product details could be subjected to change without further notice.

Coming from the official Facebook page belonging to renowned manufacturer of licensed Transformers statues, Prime 1 Studio, we have an extensive gallery of prototype images of their Crosshairs statue (based on his appearances in Transformers: Age of Extinction and The Last Knight)! The statue measures approximately 31 inches in height, boasts LED light-up eyes and right gun barrel as well as a light-up base, and the 'exclusive' version features two sets of arms so he can hold his guns pointing up or down by his sides.

The 'regular' version will sell for about $1349 and will have a run of 700 pieces produced, while the 'exclusive' is expected to cost $1399 and will be limited to only 350. Check out a few selected images below, see the full gallery here, and let us know your thoughts in the Energon Pub forums!

Just as we report on the latest statue offering from official license-holders Prime 1 Studio - the MMTFM-19: Crosshairs release, just newsed here - the Transformers areas at Tokyo Comic Con also bring us some closer looks at this one figure, and the previously shown MMTFM-15 Barricade (first newsed here).

Also included in the images below, mirrored once again from Twitter user 7777_diver who is present at the event taking place this weekend, are previous releases in the Museum Masterline Transformers Movie (in the sense of live-action films) line from the company, such as Shockwave, Ratchet, and Jazz. Ewww....thats a face only a mother can love. Im still dying to see whos actually buying these damn $1500 statues. Is this not the same fandom that wants to buy POTP Optimus as a "stand in" for MP-10? Is this not the same fandom that complains about a $50 import tax? Is this not the same fandom that left Walmart shelves clogged with Bayverse toys 5 times already? Who the hell spends $1500 and a non-transforming statue? Especially one of a character who barely did anything in the movie?

Yes, because every fandom is a singular entity, and if any two people within that fandom hold different opinions then it's hypocrisy and needs to be called out! Image

Bear in mind that if we take the production numbers for say, the Crosshairs statue, then if 1050 people - 1050 people in the entire world - decide to buy it for the asking price, then all the stock will be sold and Prime 1 Studio will be totally satisfied. On the other hand, if 1050 people the world over buy a copy of every single movie-related item, or purchase an MP-10, or don't complain about import taxes on the internet, nobody's ever going to notice the slightest difference.

Not that I'd ever buy these in all my years either, but don't confuse general consensus for unanimous opinion. Some people do want to buy these, and if they decide they want to spend a few thousand dollars on non-transforming statues, that's their prerogative! :D

Well im genuinely curious exactly what type of Transformers fans buy $1500 statues. My first thought might be movie buffs who also have statues of Predator, Iron Man, Terminator, etc. But then I think those guys probally wouldnt buy characters outside of Optimus Prime, Megatron, or Bumblebee. But Crosshairs? No way ! Thats a character only a hardcore Transformers fan would buy. So where are the hardcore Transformers fans that snub MP to collect $1500 statues? Are you out there? (crickets chirping)

One thing I noticed about these statue threads on both here and TFW is that you never see anybody posting the usual comments such as "it will be mine" or "pre-ordered on sight" or the infamous "shut up and take my money" meme. Where are these uber-rich super fans of Transformers? They sure arent here or on TFW. What kind of hardcore fans buy $1500 statues but dont post on fan sites? Its mind boggling. I recall BBTS asking for a non refundable down payment to pre-order one of these things. Cant say that I blame them, but it leads me to believe these things are really made to order and the whole "limited run" is a lie to get you to believe the makers sell more than 15 or 20 of them. $1500 x 1000 = 1 and a half million. I dont believe they make that much off of one statue when Takara cant even get 3,000 people worldwide to pre-order Grand Maximus for $250.

That's also true, I've never seen anyone sharing their desire to buy these things. But there must be a fair few of them somewhere; I'll readily admit I don't know anything about the toy production process, but I have a hard time believing they'd make their money back on the whole production process if they only sold double-digit numbers.

I've got no idea where these mystery buyers are, but I'm sure they must exist since these statues just keep comin'. I think you might actually be on to something with the idea that they're being bought mostly by movie buffs and the like - it's quite possible that purveyors of high-end collectables who liked the Transformers characters as a child (for the G1 statues) or appreciate the live-action designs (for the movie statues) but don't care about the actual toys, would spring for at least one or two of these.

It seems weird, but it might explain why they tend not to show up on fan boards like these. Paradoxically, they may not be big enough Transformers fans to buy a bunch of cheap kids' toys or join messageboards to talk about the franchise, but they just might think fondly enough of the characters and/or designs to buy a $1500 statue or two, if they're that kind of collector already.

Another theory I have is these mystery statue collectors might all be living in Asia and dont read or speak any english. They might be rich guys that work for successful tech companies. The type of guys that live in Tokyo or Hong Kong high rise apartments. People that are not connected with any crowd except business friends and really hot Asian chicks. As much as "geeks" are associated with sci-fi franchises, when you spend that kind of money the girls will party with you lol.

Probably the same kind of fans who don't hesitate to buy those 1000$ MP-10 special repaints, AFA-graded sealed G1 Transformers, or Lucky Draws.

If they keep making those super expensive statues, it's because many people DO buy these things. They are just not vocal about it I guess.

On my end, I bought two statues in my lifetime.

A 200$ MTG Spirit Link statue (Instead of an Unlimited Mox Saphir at the time):
Image

And a 400$ Cutey Honey statue (Instead of a PS2 at the time):
Image

Their value kept going down and down and down. You can still buy both for like 1/4 of their original price, brand new and sealed.
Both end up having some fingers broken off due to mishandling/cats. So now, both are totally worthless. I just can't bring myself to throw them in the garbage.........

So, even though that Shockwave above look INCREDIBLE, I just can't bring myself to spend more than 100$ on a statue. Breakage risks are real and the long term value is iffy at best.

Prime 1 Studio, notable manufacturer of licensed Transformers statues, is back at it once more, this time sharing a teaser image on their Instagram: a close-up of a gray, prototype statue based on the Transformers franchise. While only the lower torso and upper legs of the statue are depicted, details appear to closely match Optimus Prime's powered-up-by-fallen-ally form seen in the climax of 2009's Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen film.

Variously dubbed "Jet Prime", "Jetfire Prime", "Jetfire Optimus" and other similar iterations by fans, this memorable configuration formed by Optimus Prime and a dismantled Jetfire has received a few toys over the years since the film's release, but lacks a high-end collectable quite like the ones Prime 1 Studio is known for. Once the statue is fully revealed you can bet we'll share the news, but for now, check out the current image below and on Prime 1 Studio's Instagram page.

Does the idea of a Jetfire Optimus statue appeal to you, or is it just too much ado for something with such a brief (albeit memorable) appearance? Let us know your thoughts in the Energon Pub Forums, and as always, stay tuned to Seibertron.com for your daily dose of Transformers news!

A new update comes our way from Prime 1 Studio, the licensed makers of high-end statues featuring Transformers characters in a range of different styles of aesthetics - specifically today, the Museum Masterline Transformers Movie (live-action) MMTFM-20 Bumblebee, modelled after his latest iteration in the Paramount series, Transformers: The Last Knight!

You can check out below a selection of the images released, as well as a description of the figure and its accessories and features, and head here for even more to look at.

"I-I am Bumblebee, your oldest friend. Optimus. I would lay down my life for you." Prime 1 Studio is proud to present MMTFM-20: Bumblebee from The Transformers: The Last Knight. Bumblebee is one of Optimus Prime's most trusted lieutenants. $1500 ??? I could put a down payment on a real 2007 Camaro get the **** outta here lol. Why would anyone even buy this when the new MP movie bee costs under $100? (and it transforms) Is there like some small country in Asia where people love transformers but hate transforming them? Who buys these these damn statues?

Adult collectors who see statues as real display pieces worthy of purchase and toys as dumb children's playthings, who don't want to waste their time "playing" with childish things.

This sad mindset has been around for far longer than Transformers has existed.

I get what youre saying. But in my opinion that mindset doesnt seem to match the whole point of being a "Transformers" fan. I would totally agree with the "anti-toys" mindset if we were talking movie characters such as star wars, predator, super heroes, mortal kombat, gi-joe, etc. Those characters all make great statues without defeating the purpose of the franchise. But the whole lure behind the transformers franchise is that they can transform which pretty much keeps them stuck in the toy category. But thats a connection that runs deep in the fandom. I find it hard to believe a Transformers fan would hate toys since it kind of goes with the territory. If I was a Terminator fan, I would definitely want an Arnold statue over some dumb action figure. But with Transformers that logic just makes no sense. At least not to me. To me the fact that its a robot, automatically makes it a "toy" whether it transforms or not. It doesnt get away from being less "geeky" just because it doesnt transform. Its a freaking robot and anyone who is ashamed of collecting toys isnt going to have an easier time justifying their robot statue collection to other toy haters lol.

That's just it, though. This mindset applies to those hardcore adult collectors who regularly collect statues and display pieces, not Transformers fans who regularly collect Transformers toys.

Such people are those who collect these things for their being highly-detailed physical representations of pop culture. These aren't the kinds of people who want these primarily because they have an emotional attachment to the characters, but because they have a more superficial attachment to the movies and their mainstream-ness.

Transformers fans tend to have some inner-child emotional connection that compels them get invested in what is primarily a children's toy brand. The tangibility of changing a robot into another thing entirely is enticing to us Transformers fans as adults in the same way it was enticing to us as kids. But those who grew out of that feeling don't share the same tangible endearment of transforming a toy. They don't want to waste their time figuring out how to get a million-step MP from one mode to the other, they just want a pretty display piece to show off in their living room or wherever they put these things. They don't care as much about the mechanics and engineering and the feeling achievement that comes with mastering a complex transformation, they just want something solid and fancy to decorate their room(s) with.

The main demographic buying these aren't diehard Transformers fandom members who buy and play with toys, they're enthusiasts of pop culture statues who exist outside of the core Transformers fandom.

I was actually thinking about that this weekend too. Who knows what happened. They probably saw the movie and realized Onslaught, whom they probably thought would be a big character and fan favorite since he shared a name with a G1 guy, only showed up, spoke a line, and was decapitated, and scrapped the statue since it would be utterly pointless

Sadly, that's probably what Happened. The Decepticons of the Last knight will probably sit high on the list of wasted potential for years to come. on the Upside, we got a Crowbar figure in the studio series, so a Dreadbot custom is entirely possible.

Along with the official images from Prime 1 Studio directly of their Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen highly articulated (and detailed) Jet Power Optimus Prime statue, we also have a first in-person image of the piece - as well as a first look at a Dark of the Moon Sentinel Prime too!

Twitter user Chohenken brings us both apparently also from Wonderfest 2018, currently still taking place in Japan, and we've mirrored them below for your viewing convenience. Check them out, and let us know what you make of these pricey, sizeable display pieces - all in the Energon Pub discussion forums on Seibertron.com!

In what they called their Sneak Peek of the Day, officially licensed Transformers statue makers Prime 1 Studio have showed off on Instagram the head sculpt for their upcoming Bumblebee figure - this time styled after the new battle mode, complete with battle mask, we've seen in trailers and will see in the Bumblebee Movie come December!

Check out the grey prototype below, with the visor / hive patterned eyes glowing with (sweet baby boy) blue below, and let us know what you think of the Buzz surrounding this new movie and its related merchandise in the Energon Pub discussion boards below!

A double whammy today from Prime 1 Studio, the officially licensed Transformers statue makers, as the Bumblebee Movie hype train has clearly left the Cybertron station - the next sculpt they're teasing on their Facebook page is none other than big bulky bad, possibly triple changing though we have no full confirmation yet, Blitzwing himself, as seen in most of the footage shown in trailers and clips so far from Paramount!

Check out the grey prototype, this time with red optics, below, and let us know what you think in the Energon Pub discussion boards. Who is buying these statues after all?

So I guess blitzwing is relegated to a seeker and his design matches, and since dropkick and shatter are triple changers, maybe he's their triple changing leader?

Theories aside, I love the head design. It's like the "07 Movie G1 Seeker" head mixed with Kold War Scorpion. :-D
