Look closely at the mechanical parts there. THere is an Autobot insignia engraved on his back. Likewise, I noticed a Decepticon insignia on Megatron's back in one of the previous stills. Very interesting idea, so you can tell who is who when they're backs are to you in combat.

I was starting to get a good feeling about this game right up until I saw this video. I too like the constantly shifting components on Optimus' back, even though it seemed very repetitive. I loved how viceral the weapons look and sound, and the way they impact enemies. Matt Tieger kept saying how the weapons were very 1980's, but they're nothing like them. More like the movie weapons. And I can't believe there's no cover system. Weak!
Did anyone else notice what I did when he was fighting as the Aerialbot against the 'Titans'? The Titan was firing at him, he engaged his cloak, and the Titan started firing in a completely different direction as if he'd gone completely. Doesn't look like the AI is particularly clever.
God knows I'd kill for a good Transformers game, but I'm not going to hand over my money for such a generic shooter just because it's the ONLY Transformers game out there.

I hope it isn't just constant, mindless shooting - that will really affect the game's last-ability. I was hoping for some variation in the missions and a little bit of exploration.
I'll still be buying it, but I can't help feeling slightly underwhelmed.

Personally I'm fine not getting a cover system like 'Gears'. I find myself annoyed whenever I pick up a new game and find that there is one. They feel clunky and restricting to me. If I need to take cover behind something I prefer just doing it myself rather than putting my faith in the 'take cover button'. I usually get shot in the chest a bunch because I'm not standing or looking in exactly the right spot for the auto-cover to work.
I could have gone without the commentary. I was more interested in how the game itself sounded. From what I could make out though the voice acting, SFX and music all sound great! Speaking of which does anyone think the game will have a commentary option? I love the commentary system that's in Valve games. I think that would be neat.

With every update, this game just keeps looking better and better.
Also, if you have the volume up at high setting, try to listen for Soundwave's voice when he speaks, it has the modulated, monotone sounding voice from G1. It isn't the exact same voice, but it sure sounds an awful lot like it did in the 80's cartoon!

Nitpickings aside, boo yeah!!! I'll admit it does look repetetive yeah, but hey if your playing the game and not watching it, then as long as it doesn't feel repetitive it's cool.
Hovering=vehicle battles that actually work. Now I'm getting really, really exicted about the game. This fact alone kicks things up a notch. Yeah you could attack in the Movie and ROTF games in vehicle mode, but controlling them accurately was almost impossible.
Soundwave popping energon cubes out of his chest was a pleasant blast from the past.
When Prime picked up that big cannon it didn't look like it slowed down his overall movement speed. Good!!! He's one of the mightiest Autobots, he shouldn't have strength limits based on weapons. I'm not sure if Air Raid slowed down or not, but that would be understandable considering he's smaller than Op. It did look like it prevented Transformation, but that's to be expected.
All in all, so glad I pre-ordered.

Agreed. To be honest, the last few days of the war for Cybertron would mainly consist of prolonged shooting, destruction and chaos. It certainly looks like they've captured the feeling of a desperate, frantic power struggle perfectly.
Back to being excited again.

I agree with this agreement. But to be honest, what would you expect? It's a global war, there's going to be chaotic, mass destruction and battles, like what we saw from the original cinematic trailer for this game, one, huge battle. The RoTF game, to me was too much of a shoot-'em-up on the single player, because there was constantly shooting, and you don't see a bunch of what seems like endless amounts of robots coming and coming on Earth in the movies. (which is why I pretty much play only multiplayer, it's where that game truly shines)
This game's constant shooting makes more since since it's on their home planet, where you see nothing but Transformers, and once again, it's a planet-wide war. It just makes more sense, and therefore, I won't mind all the shooting, it being a huge war and all.

Meh, its an open preference opinion.
I agree with the 80's weapons reference. I just did'nt see what he was talking about.
Hey pal, i'm a gearshead and then some, but the transforming and close combat stuff would'nt work too well with having a need to be in cover alot.
Generic shooter!? OMG, go play some CoD:MW2 bro, yes TFWFC uses the unreal engine, but ya know what, it ain't no Gears clone and omfg the latest version of the unreal engine is really nice. I'd love to see more games done with it.
Yeah, call me a sheep, but they already have me sold on this game, not because its the best game in town, but because there are too many elements found in this one game that just excites me.

oh yeah, im gonna be getting this one
love the little details like mentioning he "decagon" ala war within.
if this thing has a bit of problem solving in there too it'd be well on its way to being the best TF game ever (admitedly not a huge streatch considering whats gone before but still )
cant wait for this.
and i really like that jetfire design, very reminicent of the original
