Nelson of Michaelbay.com has shed some light on the upcoming DVD/Blu-ray release of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, particularly concerning the IMAX footage.
I spoke to Paramount today and here's the lowdown on the Imax TF2 release:
Walmart will have exclusive rights on selling the ROFT (w/ Imax) on DVD and Blu-ray.
So for those of you who missed the extra IMAX footage of ROTF, Walmart will be the only retailer authorized to sell the movie with that added footage.

I buy things at walmart anyways, so cool. I just hope it's not exclusive to blu ray.

I find it very funny that Walmart is calling rights to this and has more TFs while Hmart is claiming it as "The Transformers Headquarters" when nothing is ever there...

So they get the rights for something that shouldn't be allowed to be exclusive anyway, and it will probably only be on the single disc version of the DVD so if you want special features you need to buy both the single disc and 2-disc set... wal-mart sucks... pretty soon wal-mart will have entire movies exclusively like blockbuster. That's right folks! don't expect to buy Batman 3 at best buy or anywhere else! it's a wal-mart exclusive!

I don't even remember anything about extra footage in the Imax.

Saw the IMAX footage. Worth it to go to Walmart to get the Blu Ray/DVD.

And I have to live in NYC, where there isn't a SINGLE Wal-Mart for 20 miles. And I don't drive...or use Credit cards.

I haven't seen any extra footage of devi but the extra footage is of the forest fight, you get about 30 secs of prime fighting all three cons. Pretty good scene just look it up on youtube.

I never saw the non-IMAX version but I was going by what Bay said on his website when ROTF came out...he said about an extra minute and mentioned the Devastator scene. I'm gonna take it out of the main page story just in case.

I work at Sam's club, so I will just pick it up at work. Hopefully it's not just blu ray for the Imax footage since I don't have a blu ray player yet..(aka PS3 heh.) I might get one soon enough, but I prefer get a full version on DVD regardless.
Heres an Imax scene....

So now the truth comes out. Where were all you guys when we were posting about the small screen movie being identical to the Imax/the false advertising of extra footage. So there's just an extra minute of footage? That's it? I really want the steel book version, but if I have to get the wally to get the extra footage I will. (Damn you Sam Walton!!!!!!!! Khaaaaaaaaaaaan!!!!!!!!!!)

Will this just be US Wal-Mart exclusive or will Canadian Wal-Marts also receive the Imax footage?
Any word on a steel box version?

The only new footage in the IMAX version was just an extended fight between Optimus, Megatron, Starscream, and Grindor.

thx for the info Sabr.
Don't quote me, but I'm guessing the Suncoast/FYE exclusive will be the steelbook. Too bad wally won't have that with the extended Imax footage -then I'd be in heaven. Maybe wally will have more exclusive stuff too. That'll make it worth it.

Saw this movie both in IMAX and nonimax version, and I don't remember there being any difference.

i'm not exactly sure which parts specifically, but I'm certain that it was longer in the IMAX version. I'd probably guess that the moments before the part where Prime slices Grindor's head apart were longer.
I'd have to watch both versions side-by-side to know what was added in the IMAX fight.

checked Wally's price for the 2D exclusive BR --$34.00!!!!! Ridiculous. Almost not worth it for 45 sec. to 1 min. of extra footage. They had better darn well include something else with the BR for that price - e.g. comic, figure, more exclusive spec. feats., something! Horrendous.
