Thanks to several Seibertronians, such as bacem, for pointing out to us that we now have reviews for Transformers Power of the Primes legends class Beachcomber and Slash. Both are part of the first wave of legends class toys and have appeared at Target in the US (and no where else in the world so far). They both come two per case, as can be seen in an image of an opened case below. Their wave mates are Skrapnel, a slight redeco of the previously released Generations Skrapnel, and Windcharger, who is a completely new mold. All new molds can have a Titan/Prime Master pilot them.
If any of you find thse interesting and hope to find one at Target, please check this article which specifies the product (DCPI) code for the class and how to use it to check if those products are in stock.

gotta say, beachcomber's transformation is a bit more complex than I imagined. Liking him now.

AFAIK, these aren't supposed to be out on the floor yet so buying a case is probably better for the Target Team Member so they won't have to put them back in the stock room.

That's a point good point. I just feel bad cleaning places out of stock. Is there actually a "street date" for these? I've noticed that BBTS and TFSource haven't gotten any postings yet.

Maybe Hasbro really wants to hold them for the 24th... but that'd be a nightmare for a regular person....

The street date thing is really hard to tell, especially since the implementation has not been consistent, at least from a consumer point fo view. Usually, street dates are only for movie products since they have to be out at a particular time when linked to a film. There was in fact a date written on the cases of wave 1 TLK products. So if there truly is a street date, then it would be written on the cases people have been taking pictures of but I dont see any.

As for buying the whole case, when I trouble someone to get toys out in the back, I always hope to be able to buy as many toys from that case as possible to show that their effort was worthwhile. Thats why combiner wars was so fun. The deluxes came 8 per case and since me and my friend both wanted to complete whichever combiner it was we would just buy the whole case.

True again. I guess part of me doesn't like circumventing the idea of "regular people" getting product... but I know we're also in a world where ppl will poach all the Cogmen and double the price leaving the rest to rot. I got a feeling Jazz and Dreadwing are gonna be clogging pegs. Hell... I still haven't seen wave 2 movie figures (let alone 3) on the West Coast. So the idea of someone else cleaning them out *before* anyone else getting a chance bugs me a bit.

Though also... I think stores would do better if they took a minute to realize some figures are clogging pegs and just rebox and ship them out (to discount chains or however they deal with that). Keep the product fresh and rotating.

is dinobot slash somehow a part of volcanicus in any way like how legends class groove was a part of defensor? it would seem odd to have this other dinobot that is a dinobot team member that isnt part of volcanicus :-?

It seems that Hasbro has made errors on these cards, by repeating the same ENGLISH phrase on some cards, instead of the translations into other languages. This was shown in that video review of (Slash), some posts above.

That is just one big blocky head.

I really like the mold, but I think I remember hearing something about a rumored Tailgate in the line later on... If Windcharger gets a nice new Tailgate head and colors I'll gladly buy one, but I agree that the Windcharger head is a bit clunky. Wait, see and hope, I guess.

When I took my trips to Target, the gentlemen who helped me with the Deluxes and Legends said that they were told to put them out at end of November but if they were in the system that they could be taken out early and given to whoever asks for them.

Have any Titan Masters, Voyagers, or Leaders been seen in the US yet? Strikes me as strange that the deluxe would trickle out first.

I was able to use the codes and ask a Target Employee (Janesville WI) if they had any in back. The brought out a case of 8 Deluxes. I got 5 of them, and another lady got the other Slug. I got one of each deluxe and a extra swoop for my daughter. (It was their Saturday toy sale for 25% off also)

We got two different power of the prime cards with swoop. So like earlier reports they are random.

I did notice in the instructions for Swoop for forming Volcanus they mention a "coming mid 2018" mention for Sludge and Snarl, but nothing noted on Grimlock.

Not yet. I’ve been periodically checking that inventory checker with the DCPIs of the other size classes but nada.

Doesn’t surprise me that much. Deluxes are generally the forefront and most common size class out there.

That is because Grimlock is in wave 1 just like Slug and Swoop and in theory should be on the shelves at the same time. Sludge and Snarl are in Wave 2, so they are shown in the instructions before they will be available, hence the reference to mid 2018. We will see the same thing with Hun-Gurr and Rippersnapper being in wave 2 and the other 3 Abominus limbs in wave 3.

I believe this also confirms that so far, Volcanicus and Abominus are the only 2 set teams of combiners, and Starscream, Elita-1 and Inferno are extra torsos with Jazz, Dreadwind, Blackwing, Moonracer and the others from the leak are extra limbs for mix and match play. I'll be interested to see if they even give the torso's combined mode names like CW did with Galvatronus (Cyclonus) and Betatron (Shattorshot).

So, I went to a local Target yesterday. I had already seen the new PotP deluxes (well 2 of them), at the one near a mall where I live, but the Brickfinder app said they were now out of stock, but another store across town had them.

When I got to Target, I basically just wanted to show them to my son, since he understands we are waiting on :TAKARATOMY: . However when I got there, they were advertising a 25% off ONE DAY sale on all toys, so I figured for that proce, what the heck, we can get a couple. The pegs were filled to capacity however wit that awful wave 4 revision.

I waited a while to try to find an employee I thought would be competent/understanding enough to look in the back for me. One employee actually asked if he could help me, then I made my request. He then referred me to the "toy expert" (some guy stocking shelves that didn't even have anything indicating he was a Target employee)...

I asked him, explaining fully that these were NEW Transformers that were probably in the stock room. He just dismissed me with a "nope were cleaned out..." WTF??? Your shelves are full of deluxes that aren't moving at 25% off...that should tell you something right there.

My wife said I should have asked a manager. I probably should have, but I was so upset at the time I said screw it. If they don't want my money, I don't have time for them.

Bad customer service aside....I do hope that we see a fan-mode sometime that is able to integrate slash somehow into Volcanicus whether as part of him, or as an accessory.

Also I still think there is a chance we will get the rest of the members for the Starscream, Inferno, and Elita-1 teams in later waves. If we get a minimum of 5 waves in this line (really hoping for 6), then that's at least 10-12 deluxes that have not been revealed yet, enough to finish those other teams. I mean I'd rather have Piranacon and Monstructor (or Dinoking) in later waves...but I'm actually hoping they are made into box sets, and the rest of the regular deluxes come as regular retail.

Different stores, different treatment. For Walmart, Target, TRU and any other big box stores these things are quite literally delivered by the trailer load to their respective distribution center warehouses. This stuff has to be handled well in advance to assure it gets into the individual stores across the country at a reasonable time. From there it's up to the corporate offices to decide when they actually go on shelves unless there's a specific street date. Usually they don't care, but in this case it sounds like Target wants the stores to hold off on stocking these until Black Friday so there'll be plenty of new inventory on the shelves.

On the other hand you've got smaller stores like BBTS and TFSource which are given the same treatment as your local comic shop. Hasbro has a specific start date for when they start taking orders and while there still isn't a street date per se, everything is shipped out to the shops at the same time so it all arrives within a day or so of each other. This gives the appearance of a street date, but it's more like an arrival date as they usually go up for sale as fast as they can get them unpacked and into the warehouse.

Hope that cleared things up.

Courtesy of our regular source of not entirely through the right channels news, Weibo account tf-factory, we have some scans of the instructions and cross-sell images for the Transformers: Power of the Primes line, and mostly its combiners. These are the images showing with limb is 'meant to' attach to which torso - from a purely marketing and distribution strategy, as the scramble city deployment is still in effect with this line, and you can make up your gestalt with whomever you choose, of course.

From the looks of it, the Terrorcons almost get a dedicated schematic, with Inferno and Moonracer joining Cutthroat, Sinnertwin and Blot, while Hun-Gurr, Sinnertwin and Rippersnapper hang out with Duocons Blackwing and Dreadwind; Grimlock is then joined by Jazz and Dreadwind, while Slug and Swoop go out on a limb; Starscream so far includes Jazz, Slug, Dreadwind and Swoop; and Elita-1 is joined by Dinobots Sludge and Snarl, plus Jazz and Moonracer. Check it all out below, along with an extra shot of Dreadwind's instruction sheet.

Once more via fellow Seibertronian bacem, we have a video review of the third member of the Autobot side of the first wave of Transformers Power of the Prime appearing at US retail this week: Windcharger! An old favourite of previous toylines, namely Reveal the Shield with the Scout class gems, then again to less success in Combiner Wars, Windcharger had a small spotlight in the IDW comics prior to the Dark Cybertron event (as a member of the X-Men Outliers helping Orion Pax), and is now back in plastic form in this new toyline.

Compatible with Prime Masters and Titan Masters alike, you can check out the clip embedded below, via YouTube reviewer Long's Toys. Reviews of fellow Legend class wavemates Beachcomber and Slash can be found back in this news post here, too. Enjoy!

This is where I play dumb.

"Hey I didn't see any left out on the floor but if gave you the DPCI could you see if you have more in the back?"

Most of the time, these folks only care about getting an item out to you. They don't care what the item is.

Damn that sucks. Next time do what I did. Dont tell them what the item is....just give them the DCPI code and let them type it in their little gizmo thing they carry. It worked for both deluxes and legends for me and both times they went to the back and pulled them.

This is where I play dumb.

"Hey I didn't see any left out on the floor but if gave you the DPCI could you see if you have more in the back?"

Most of the time, these folks only care about getting an item out to you. They don't care what the item is.

this is the reason why i dont spend so much time hunting for them at stores most of the time they skip over waves or never carry certain class sizes, if i just happen to come across ones im looking for then great like sometimes if im near a store ill pop in for a quick look sometimes i get lucky like yesterday i was at walgreens in salem and found the clone two pack then down the steet was a toys r us and found the chaos on velocirton set i havent been that lucky in a long time
any way i find it easier to just get the figs online less of a fuss ;)

I was just adding my sightings to the sightings section, and noticed there was a Rippersnapper sighting.

Can we, like, get some confirmation, here? I have a hard time believing that someone found him already.

I can confirm this was a mistake on our part: a technofinger slipped, and we haven't amended it yet. Thanks for the heads up!

Loving Slash. Only one flaw for me. Loving the Titan/Prime Master compatibility. Reminds me of the Diaclone pilots. But hate how they don't "sit" properly with the knee bend.

I'm loving Slash as well. I don't mind the seat positioning. My only concern is the cover for the cockpit. Because 1) clear plastic and 2) Wolfwire.

Yeah, I'm holding my breath waiting for the names of the upcoming combiners. Not sure why that's so important to me, but it is.

I'll chime in with my own brief reviews of the deluxe wave. I've been really impressed by them. Engineering and deco all seems to be above average. Gimmick is fun but doesn't get in the way. Head sculpts all spot on. I like the new gestalt fists. None seem cheap/KO or like they are trying to spare plastic too much (e.g. waffling) Sizes look good.

I thought Slag looked stiff in all the reviews, but you can pop his neck up and away from the body. Looks significantly better. No complaints after that.

Only real complaint, I'd love it if Jazz could be the original car, but I know there are licensing issues. That taken into account (and knowing their hands are tied) they came through with a pretty G1 looking bot mode in spite of it. Curious to see what they repaint Jazz into.

Wouldn't it be nice if they just put out all the combiners for s single set at one time, rather then mix it up like this

The jury is still out for me & Jazz, but I love Slash & Beachcomber!

Now this would be cool. I'm waiting on a Leader Star Saber and a combining Road Caesar!!!

On another brought up note, I would like a seeker combiner. That would be pretty awesome! King Scream/MegaScream and the seeker armada. Though who would be left out of the 3 coneheads and 3 original seekers would be interesting. Dreadwind makes for a good conehead basis.

I'm excited for Slash, Beach, and Windcharger. Windcharger looks pretty good, and while I would have preferred his earlier toy, this one is good to me. Beachcomber looks pretty awesome, and Slash is adorable. I may just keep her in raptor mode beside Volcanicus, kinda like having Volcanicus as Rexy from Jurassic World and Slash as Blue, and have them fight Predaking like that final fight!!!

Also just realized why Scorn was the only new dinobot mold in TLK: the other 6 were all getting new PotP toys, makes sense. Maybe my deluxe Scorn will go join my PotP dinobots and leave his voyager self on the movie shelf.

I actually think Jazz looks good, and I do need a generations Jazz. Combining him, the plane brothers, screamer, and others like them are questionable, but I'm kinda hoping for that Artfire/Stepper/3 other guys combiner from Takara. Maybe Artfire and Stepper will combine with Braver, Laster, and Blacker to give us a new Road Caesar!!!

what id hope they will release is a Voyager Sludge and Scorn for POTP, also maybe a new Dulex Dinobot to replace the sludge or a Dulex Paddles. I just think sludge is to small, and we need a gen/classic scorn.

Wow. I'd SO be down for a deluxe Paddles retool. New head and legs on that thing would be such a cool nod. Would also look great for matching size/shape legs or arms on volcanicus.

maybe a 3rd party will come out with a upgrade kit to mod sludge into paddles, that would be awesome. Also I'd buy a 3rd party upsized sludge that was voyager size.

agreed on all of those. Bummer is, the real option I'd have liked to see would be a sludge/paddles that could be the torso. Can't really get that out of a KO... though I'd still buy a simple upsize in a heartbeat.

see I'd love a Voyager sludge, paddles and scorn as torso's, and two new Dulex dinobots one for IDW "Skar" and I want a remold/retool of Snarl as "Slapper" (2001 Robots in Disguise - walmart)

Thanks for the info on these other dinobots, Stealth Claw. They slipped under my radar, though I do remember — and would also add — the PowerCore addition Grimstone. He would be a good Slag minor retool that could round out an alternate matching limb, too.

I'd love some running-changes like this from Hasbro. Would be great to see some deep-dives into obscure lore like we saw from the club and Botcon. That's actually one of the top things I miss. Hoping they can find a consistent outlet for some store or box set exclusives that really fill that missing niche... not to mention some place for the fiction we have lost now.

Not sure why they don't do an SDCC comic, or something to go in the box sets we saw (Velocitron, etc.) The characterization and story are what makes you attached to a character... and want to complete some story lineup. It's a great sales motivator for me, and I'm sure a lot of other fans.

But I digress... solid wave. Hope we get some repaints and retools of these guys.

Based on purely circumstantial evidence, they're making plenty of money without doing this.

I quite agree with you, just to be clear :) It's really tough to get super hyped for the future when it looks like endless variations of G1. Transformers has always remained compelling by not overstaying its welcome in one state or another, but PotP is dangerously close to just being CW + TR without bringing anything actually new to the table.

I think an auxiliary dinobot box set would be cool.
Grimlock -> Scorn
Slag -> Grimstone
Sludge -> Paddles
Snarl -> Slapper
Swoop/another remold of the others -> Skar

I really want to see another line get the Generations treatment.

I wouldn't even mind if it was "lazy" repaints/redecos.

Give me 2001 RID as Generations -

Optimus Prime from the CW Hot Spot mold
Ultra Magnus from the CW Optimus Mold with a trailer that can split into a powered up mode via the CW ports (you can then use these pieces on Optimus for Omega Prime)
T-AI from a Prime Master mold
Prowl from the CW Sunstreaker mold
Side Burn from the CW Dead End mold
X-Brawn from the CW Offroad mold
Fortress Maximus, Emissary, Cerebros as a repaint of TR Fort Max

Hot Shot, R.E.V., Crosswise, W.A.R.S., Ironhide, Mirage can all use CW molds too.

Or make new molds. :)

I forgot about IDW Strafe, it be cool to have a remold of Sinnertwin as her with the dinobots color.
