Fellow Seibertronian chuckdawg1999 brings us our first proper look at the second wave of Transformers: Robots in Disguise One-Step changers - and actually sounds quite positive about the new version of Steeljaw and Grimlock, plus the first toy we have of new character Fixit. Check out the embedded clip below for more!

While many collectors pass on these toys due to their simplistic nature, I think they're missing out on some fantastic engineering. There are three figures in this wave and each one features its own, unique transformation. I think most people will go for Fixit since that's the new, kid friendly character, but Grimlock and even Steeljaw have something to offer.

Do they ask to play with your G1 toys? ;)

Well, my youngest is 1, so he is still safe. My 2 year old, however, is not. My G1 figures are kept out of sight in my toy room, so he doesn't see them. My masterpieces are on display, and those he wants. Hence why I've started giving him armada toys to play with.

That's cute! I'll be a dad this summer, hence all my questions. Looking forward to that stage.

Congrats man! Fatherhood is the single greatest and most rewarding journy a man can take. No feeling on earth compares to your child looking up and smiling at you. You'll find the kids laughter to be the sweetest music you've ever heard. That first time you gaze on your newborns face, you'll finally start to understand the true meaning of life.

That said, get as much sleep as you can now. Trust me on this. ;)

Picked up both Fixit and Steeljaw yesterday. Fixit is ok, at least for now, since it has one of those "click to lock" transformations, which will probably strip out after a while. Steeljaw is complete piece of sh*t. The thing is loose and unstable from the get-go, and its transformation leaves it with a giant panel just sticking out of its backside. They want us to pay $10 a pop for this lazy bullsh*t?

I will be picking up Drift, after that, no more one steps. They increase the price 20%, and give us retools of used molds and the new ones are either sh*t from the get go or a disaster waiting to happen......

The NY Toy Fair 2015 gave us a first look at Robots in Disguise One Step Drift Fracture and Thunderhoof, and we were even given official images from Hasbro in conjunction with the event. However, through Hasbro Poland, we now have the new official images of these toys. These images show some different coloring, different angles and different ways to display the figures (especially Thunderhoof). They have been mirrored below.

I really do hope we can get a deluxe class version of Thunderhoof sometime soon, instead of less detailed and complex stuff like the one step changers.

And I really hope that when they do make that figure, his alt mode rake becomes his robot mode antlers.

I do hope we can get a warrior class Thunderhoof but i'm just happy to get a toy of him at all! The 1 step doesn't look too bad at all, he seems to have basic articulation.

In general, I wish for more Cons at warrior scale. Given what I've seen of Underbite and Steeljaw, it feels like the Cons are going to be fun this time around, plus it'd be nice if they were counted in even number with the Bots.

Still, more Con representation so far than the entire AoE line.

If every Con gets a Warrior toy, then they will definitely outnumber the Autobots this time around. 8)

Not yet. So far, in the deluxe class and voyager class (and corresponding warrior and hyperchange class), we only have steeljaw (unless you also count fracture as minicon deployer) while AOE had both Lockdown and Galvatron.

And for the one steps, while RID has 4 cons so far, AOE did have Megatron, Galvatron, Lockdown , Stinger (walmart exclusive) and now has Junkheap and Vehicon as power battlers.

I'm getting a ROTF Scattorshot vibe from Thunderhoof, a Flamewar vibe from Fracture, and Drift looks absolutely ridiculous. (PlaySkool gone wrong ridiculous.)

You don't, but the shoulders and chest sorta look right. I was gonna dsay the same thing. Just put his rake on rthe end of Scoop's bucket arm. If that's what it takes to get a decent Genrations quality Thunderhoof, I really don't care about his antlers that much.

And actually, I think there's enough flext in the bucket arm, one might be able to mod a clip into the back of the Robot head so the bucket snaps in. You lose neck articulation though, unless you make it a seperate piece, but I don't think anyone wants that.

EDIT: Dagonit, I fogotabout Scoop's huge front gap... I wonder if you coukd do him backwards?

Picked up Warrior Steeljaw. He suffers from the same "elbows feel like their gonna break" syndrome that Grimlock has, but I gotta say, I really enjoy playing with him.
These toys have a lot of flaws, i.e. price, lack of paint apps, non locking panels, fragility, but I can't help but like them. The character design is so new and different, that I feel they make up for their flaws in style alone.
I don't recall anybody mentioning Steeljaw's cool segmented and ball jointed tail. It's a really neat feature.

Just keeping my cup half full y'all. :D

Yeah. You can use either head in either mode. If you use his robot head in beastmode, he looks like an actor in a Godzilla suit.

What impresses me is that we now have 4 versions of Grimlock that each transform uniquely, but still end up basically in the same bot mode.

Just a heads up, I bought a Warrior Grimlock today and I had the same problem others have been having where the plastic in front of the faux-ratchet just sheared off. I seem to remember that joint being substantially harder to move than the one that hasn't broken, and it had stress marks appear well before the break :-( I should have really taken more time with it. Anyway if anyone notices one joint being substantially more difficult to move than the others or stress marks, don't move it.

Side note, has anyone had problems with Warrior Bee standing? I just cannot get him to stand for the life of me. He doesn't even have a heel, so I don't see why he should stand. I also got CW Silverbolt and he's also precarious to stand as his heel doesn't lock into a position where it's flush with his foot. Instead it forms a V shape, and for such a tall figure that can be a problem. I'm so happy with the stuff I bought today for the most part, but they all have a nagging problem.

When I looked into a toy of RID Jazz, it seems to me that he transforms into a futuristic muscle car that is based on a 2015 Ford Mustang like this one:

As we saw with the New York Toy Fair 2015, it appears the Transformers Playskool Hero Mashers line is keeping the direction of the new "Robots in Disguise" cartoon. Bumblebee, Sideswipe and Steeljaw have already been released in Canada, and will continue with Optimus Prime, Strongarm, and Clampdown. There's new official pics of the last three below!

Additionally, Amazon Canada has other Hero Masher listings for Quillfire, Thunderhoof, Fracture, Bisk (under the Bixk typo), Jazz, and Drift. Stay tuned to Seibertron.com for all your Transformers News!

I wasn't going to buy into RID. I absolutely refused. In fact, even when I bought Grimlock, Steeljaw and Strongarm, I had buyer's remorse. Quite a bit of it. Grimlock and Steeljaw really won me over and after awhile, it turned out to be Strongarm that I play with the most. I do love a good shellformer when it looks good in both modes and she pulls it off quite well.

Then I bought Drift. I'm hooked on Warrior Class. Except for Optimus. He really is the one I won't buy. I've watched videos, I've seen images, and he's just completely unappealing to me altogether.

I even bought into the One-Steps. Fixit is AMAZING. Underbite is actually quite good as well, and it helps that he's an awesome character on the show.

I hate to admit it, but I'm going to keep buying these figures. They have just the right balance on almost everything. Compromise from animation model to figure, transformation complexity and even articulation.

Impressive considering it's the kid's line.

Ha. I remember when you were disappointed in Strongarm. I'm glad to hear you've changed your tune. I was real hesitant at first too, but I am really enjoying this line as well. Drift is fantastic right? Simple and fun transform and really nice in both modes.

I have ZERO desire to own a single Hero Masher, but I'd go out of my way to buy them and rub it in the faces of Play With This Too.

All that time spent telling us 3rd parties are basically evil, "Buy Hasbro!" and giving us all a bunch of noncommittal answers at 'cons, only to run as fast as they can to make their own company ripping off their former employers and NOW it's okay to 3rd party all night long.

Screw them.

Also, we've gotten some really killer crap as of late and I have to wonder if the new team is responsible for it and if so, was it the PWTT team that was holding us back? (At least to some degree, I know Hasbro has the final say and they're no saints.)

Just pure crap.

They don't, but I guess they are superficiously similar to HM, so the original post made a comparison and... well nature took its course.
