And just to keep up the Generations figures streak, Pax Cybertron has also been taking shots of the Deluxe Skids redeco and remold - the diplomat with a gun (in the current IDW continuity), Crosscut! Check out some in-hand images with size comparisons and close-ups below, and wait with us for an inevitable video review.

Crosscut actually looks pretty nice. There aren't too many straight up silver Autobot figures I can think of. He certainly has bright feet, but if I didn't have Skids already, I'd consider getting him.

I like the fact they worked crosscut into the comics. Like Tankor if not I'll probably wouldn't want them.

I'm looking forward to placing him with SG Tracks to make some of the first eHobby original characters - Crosscut and Road Rage.

I'll keep asking this wit every single Gen. Skids repaint: are the hips still misassembled?

Judging by a couple of the poses, it appears not. It's hard to tell, but you can also tell by the slot on the hip part. If it's closer to the front, it's assembled correctly.

I picked up Skybyte & Roadbuster on the weekend. I like them much more then I thought I would to be honest. Skybyte, being the surprisingly better figure.

His shark mode is a clip together nightmare but when it's done it's a very nice looking figure. I think he will likely stay as a shark for the most part. Probably for the best as he has no vertical neck articulation and a really weird looking left hand.

Roadbuster is okay. Not great, but okay. The weapons are pretty lame and don't really clip together in a way that is pleasing to the eye. The head is a little too squished looking, but on the other hand he has a great range of motion and a pretty simple yet pleasing transformation.
Re: Video Review - Transformers Generations Deluxe Nightbeat (1600477)

Roadbuster is good for what I want on my shelf, a beefy, reasonably "Classic/G1" representation of the character. His transformation is intuitive and fun without being simplistic. I think part of what sucked the fun out of him for me was putting on over 30 different stickers. Hasbro, please, just stop it with the stickers already! Leave that bit of Transformers legacy in the past. :P

I like Sky-Byte a LOT more than I thought I would. He shell-forms quite a bit, but the transformation works well and is intuitive. I wish his head could look up just a tad bit higher. He must suffer from the same self-esteem/pathological shame issues as Classics Ironhide and Rathcet. It also helps Sky-Byte's case that I opened him up while watching Sharknado 2 with my partner. He did not appreciate Sky-Byte's commentary during the film, though.

In a plot twist, YouTube reviewer PaxCybertron did not upload a video for Crosscut first, but rather a look at another Generations figure from the same wave, of which we've seen in-hand images before: the redeco and extensive remold of deluxe Starscream, Jersey Shore Jhiaxus! Check it out in the embedded clip below.

Works for me... but as far as the figure itself... meh. Don't have enough connection to the character. Might buy it just to keep it in package, toss in the attic, and sell in 5 years if it ends up being a rarity, but I'm not going out of my way to find it, either. He's not a "big" enough character to go in my Lost Light display (what all did he do, other than be name checked, after all?).

its a shame that crosscut is just gray plastic. not that i expected the shiney united treatment, but one can dream. gray plastic aside, i really dig it.

I think Crosscut is the better looking of the two characters from that mold.

I want this guy most out of the wave. More than a headmaster thzt isnt a headmaster. More than a retool thats not colored the same as his G1/G2 imcarnation. More than a robot with a geisha head.

No such thing. And it doesn't look like he has metallic flake which is the main culprit of such brittle plastic.

really wanted the skids version of this guy but i seem to have missed out on that wave.

I'm on the fence about getting him as he's not a character I care for... but i still want the mould grr.

If you want that mold, you are better off with this one than Skids. Skids has issues locking his panels in. We all know how much Ryan wants to show the best version of the toys in the galleries and even he couldnt get the darn doors to fit in properly

Image

It looks like crosscut has fixed that particular issue. I dont want to own two similar molds that I dont absolutely adore (unlike some seeker molds) so in retrospect I would much rather have had this version of the mold than Skids (though his prices on e-bay do comfort my purchase).

Posted by frogbat on August 26th, 2014 @ 9:00am CDT
hate it when that happens! thanks, it is a bit of a comfort knowing there were issues. Hopefully they fixed them on crosscut though at times I think it depends on a particular batch rather than the whole run.

I'm a bit confused re the wave containing skids and waspinator.. seems like a couple of sites are saying they'll be out september 2014? was there a 2nd run or is that a mistake you think?

Also take into account Skids has his upper legs misassmbled, and that the fix could potentially ruin it as the ball joints in the hips can snap off. Crosscut and Rollbar seem to have that fixed.

The fix can easily snap off the limb. It happened to me. I tried dissassembling him by twisting the hip and when it gave way, the ball joint was still attached to the leg, but apart from the body #-o

Crazy glue helped though and I usually forget it ever happened, until SOME people bring it up...

We saw these figures show up in the Philippines, but we now have confirmation of their existence at US retail too, thanks to fellow Seibertronian Bounti76. Check out below photo proof of Generations Nemesis Prime and Cliffjumper, with their respective Targetmasters. The figures come from a Toys R Us in Murray, Utah; make you sure you flag up your own sightings in the appropriate section too!

Meanwhile, at my local Canadian TrU, the Bomshel/Reflector set, along with his wavemate, are priced at 15$tx. That's 50% more expensive than the American price. TrU, what the hell?

Ok, the deal with Sightings.

The News Staff are running a bit on overwork right now, and I hope you can all understand that we do this on a voluntary basis, in our spare time, and in different time zones.

There can be issues with emails, and a new address has been created specifically for sightings: sightings@seibertron.com. If you see something, send it along, and we'll get to it as soon as we can. If you don't email us, it'll be harder to track it down in forums and the Sightings page (which should still be used for everyone's hunting, though!).

As much as it can be frustrating to see an item not recognised and credit not given, it's equally frustrating to have to read the same comments each time. We know things can slip, and we apologise for that - but please help us out! :D

Thank you Cyber Bishop for the link to the Louisiana thread; YoungPrime, can you please re-send the email notification? This is not the first time it's happened, and we'd rather make sure all is working correctly on both ends.

if i knew this was news i would've reported it, i saw these 2 days ago at walmart. Figured if they're showing up here they must've been out for a while elsewhere. But i passed on em since i still dont think they are worth it, especially since the Rattrap & Tankor that were right next to them were $9.96. Oh and id like to thank hasbro for putting generations on the AoE deluxes, cause of that i got lockdown for $10 as well.

Same here, saw these the second week of August, but I have been so used to being behind the releases I didn't say anything. And to that fact, no store oter than that Target in Fishers, IN has them. I might pickup Cliffy , but I have really no interest in him. And truthfully, I only got NP for Spinister, and gave hat to TFSS Scourge.

Well, pricing should be going back to "normal" soon, so grab your $9.98 Generations while it lasts. My Walmart went back up to $14.95 for Generations Deluxe once the Rattrap wave hit. This also included the movie stuff. Target is $15.99 near me, and I have heard higher in some areas.

The wait is finally over fellow Seibertronians! Earlier today both Seibertron and myself received our shipping notices from Hasbro Toy Shop for Transformers Generations Crosscut, Jhiaxus, and Nightbeat! You can still pre-order at Hasbro Toy Shop here. This means that this wave will be hitting everywhere pretty soon so make sure to post up any of your own sightings in the appropriate section and forums when you see these guys in the wild!

Also let's speculate away here, why has Windblade from the same wave not shipped?

Because HTS send the order in more than one shot if they go beyond 3 figures or something. I dealt with them ONCE. Not only they charge taxes, they charge my ass 30$ base Fedex shipping for a order of ONE minimicro figure. Then, the shipping cost increase and increase as I add figures to the cart. Then, they MUST use FedEx for me. Meaning I had to change the shipping address to my workplace or I'll had to go to the NEXT TOWN AIRPORT to get my package! They also sent my order of six figures in 3 different packages over a week!

TlDr:
HTS is awesome ONLY if you are American.
For anyone else, go to BBTS or any other online shops instead.

Well, that was true for me. Read my original post again. As an American, not only you have cheap or FREE shipping from HTS, you can have your stuff in one go. I'm CANADIAN so I'm screwed. 30$ base shipping costs, taxes anyway, FedEx mandatory, and an order shipped in more than one shot obligatory at my workplace.

So, never again.
