Our fellow Seibertronian chuckdawg1999 has shared another Transformers Generations Combiner Wars wave 2 figure video review, and we keep to the Stunticons with Breakdowm! Check out the embedded clip below, and their thoughts, and let us know what you think in the Energon Pub.

Shakedown, Takedown, you're busted! It's Breakdown, probably one of the best known Stunticons due to its use as various Bot-Con exclusives over the years. The hip joints will take some getting used to, but once mastered pull off an ingenious leg transformation. I expect this mold to be used often in the years to come.

on alpha bravo, push the white piece up a little so the rotor is trapped between the tail fins.

I think the crab armor works the best, actually. Fills out the space and looks most like a plate of armor.

The individual bots dont look too bad, but dear god Menasor looks terrible!! The standard body proportions are just all wrong! Might have to go and look at some of those pics showing the mix and matching of the figures to see what looks best!

Try this leg configuration:

It's not the official way, the thigh/hip area is less stable as the designed pegging system is not used, but the proportions look immensely better, IMO.

Ooh, he's a goodie.
The regular release, IMO, looks better with the white than the KB version.
However if you can get your hands on either, definitely a nice score.

I'm going to look for Gears and Acidstorm. They never showed up here.
Not sure if this helps where you live, but in SE Michigan, those two were effectively Meijer's exclusives starting around Thanksgiving...and already got clearanced out.

Dang, maybe I should've posted that in sightings, but I don't have a camera, and just assume I'm the last to spot anything new.

That second wave of PCC 2-packs in 2010 (Leadfoot) were the last TFs I only saw at Meijer's for a considerable time; they showed up at other stores about half a year later, IIRC. Though I wasn't canvassing discount stores then like I do now.

And my TJMarshaxxes have had jack for toys lately: nothing of note besides Construct-bots Slash (and presumably Scorn), who've otherwise only appeared (overpriced) at Kohl's.

Back on topic, I'm guessing Air Raid's going to be a tad difficult to find, with everyone buying two for an extra head to make their Firefly a tad more G1 media-accurate?

slingshot probably 2016 if at all (in australia anyway). air raid don't know since ports will be backed up for months.

Superion is definitely better-proportioned than Menasor. Meansor's torso is too small and his legs are too long.

The suggested transformation maybe, but it's been proven that his stature can be greatly improved by simply adjusting the legs and crotch piece.

If only Optimus and Motormaster had been given the same kind of upside-down treatment that Silverbolt was given, with the combiner thighs being formed by the torso bot's arms instead of the torso bot's legs.

My Menasor arrived earlier today. I've literally spent hours fiddling with his legs and waist desperately trying to get him to look half decent. I couldn't, so I'll just be displaying them as a team.

The compromises needed to make him look half decent are things I'm probably not willing to do and leave him on display. So I'll probably be leaving them as separate individuals too, in alt mode most likely.

I saw both Gears and picked up Acid Storm from Target just before they announced they were leaving Canada. They had them in mid-December, and Acid Storm was already on clearance when I got him.

Thinking next year in 2016, HasTak will give fans CW Bruticus, CW Computron and G1 animal combiners. Think it should be rather easy for CW to repurpose toys between Predaking, Abonimus and Piranacon. Think it should be easy to also Repurpose these as autobots or maximals combiners.

Don't think HasTak is going to be doing any CW G1 Dinobots combiner. Unless Combiners Wars go into the 2017 Third year. If 2017 happens for CW, Then I could see HasTak doing Monstructor and Dinoking first then a Repurposed G1 Dinobots combiner.

Think HasTak or TFCC might be able to do a Liokaiser toy. Using Three jets bots from Superion, I tank bot Brawl From Bruticus. One drill bot from CW Computron. CW Liokaiser's 6th member can be a legends class bot that looks the most like Jargua.

Don't think HasTak will be doing any new toys or repurposed CW toys for Raiden, Landcross and Road Caesar.

Here's my review of the final Stunticon in the current wave of TF Combiner Wars figures with Motormaster. Pretty much a retool of the Optimus Prime from Wave 1, but overall not too bad.

Where it all falls over I think, is when combined with the rest of the team into Menasor. Pretty terrible body proportions that kind of ruin the look, especially when compared to Superion.

Hope you can check out the review, subscribe, like, and comment with your thoughts on the the gestalt :)

We have heard rumours of an upcoming Ironhide figure in the Transformers Generations Combiner Wars line eventually. Adding fuel to the plastic fire, the in-pack comics that come with Wave 2 deluxes in the line, the Offroad one in particular, shows off an orthographic design for a toy sharing the same mold as the titular character.. but a slightly different head. Check it out below, thanks to chuckdawg1999, and let us know what you think!

That is definitely an Ironhide head.

But for those who don't wanna use the figure as Ironhide, he can be a stand in for a CHUG Micromaster Tote, having been given the same modern day pickup truck updated altmode treatment that Ironhide's gotten in recent years:

Huh, interesting. This means that the pretool scheme the figures have has gotten more interesting. Using Offroad as that example:

- Each mold potentially has two vehicle shells, given Offroad and First Aid.
- Each mold potentially has three pretooled heads, in this case Offroad, First Aid and now Ironhide. Only Wreck-Gar shares that honor with the Junkyard and Scrapheap heads.

Hasbro and TakaraTomy are really planning ahead. Then again, having a line span 2 years you kinda have to.

Well, we have:

- Offroad into Ironhide
- potentially Drag Strip for Mirage
- potentially Breakdown for Sunstreaker
- potentially Dead End/Streetwise for Prowl

As we predicted earlier, all Stunticon (p)retools.

I'm a little disappointed, though not surprised, that they're only changing the heads to make the Autobots out of these. I guess there's not a lot they could do about the bodies since the combiner pegs have to be there.

I'd like that the flipdown chests for Dead End and Breakdown at least be altered to look like the chests of Prowl and Sunstreaker.

I might be inclined to disagree with that, partially. While I wholeheartedly agree with the shortcomings of the Universe Ironhide figure, it still very much resembled Ironhide. Whereas this figure, while likely being a much better figure than Universe in almost every regard, is but a non-Ironhide body with Ironhide's head slapped onto it.

It's definitely gonna be a better toy that Universe Ironhide, but aside from the head, it's just not as Ironhide-y as Universe Ironhide.

Indeed. The Universe 2008 mold gets a lot of hate, but it's a DAMN good looking Classics Ironhide in bot mode. Same goes for Ratchet. There's no getting around that CW Offroad as Ironhide is quite a departure for the classic aesthetics of the character.
