Even greater to see the Generations size voyager figure carrying over to the movie line.
He's taller than FOC Grimlock!!!!

I'm a HUGE Grimlock fan and although i like it in bot mode far more than the alt mode I know it would just be an impulse purchase in the end.
It just isn't classy enough of a figure for me in regards to Grimlock. It'll be a pass unless i get it for dirt cheap. I mean 10 dollar cheap.

Takara has a listing for a movie-accurate deco of Grimlock, but I don't think Hasbro will be doing one.

I can't wait for a more professional review from Optibotimus or someone like that.

Wow. *smh* Sense of humor, anyone? Vange1us does all of his shtick on purpose. He's an entertainer first, reviewer second. He's quite intelligent and talented. This is all for show and he doesn't take himself seriously in the least. He's having fun with it, that's the whole point.
You want a professional review? Vange1us is that professional. His production values couldn't be higher. You tear him down, but he's well known within the fandom and people like him. A lot.
As for throwing the packaging around, it's a running joke he's been doing for awhile. I realize it might put off some, but it made me laugh. (Because I know the original joke) In fact, when he did it, I knew I was in for a good time.
I go to Peaugh for reviews because he's the best at transforming them and shows them in great detail. I go to Baltmatrix when I want an honest opinion that's going to spare no one's feelings and tell me the absolute truth. (Even if I don't always agree with him, I certainly respect him.) When I want to laugh, I go to Vange1us. Plus, some of his videos educate you on the 3rd party scene. He's shown off items I never knew existed, given details I didn't know about, you get the idea.
You don't like his style, fine. You don't disparage the man, either.

The thing is, Autobot_032 (sorry if I misspelled your screenname), I watch reviews of figures to find out about....the figures.... so forgive those of us who would rather forgo what we see as reviews more about Vangelus' personality and general goofiness than they are about the toys. Peaugh and Optibotimus can be funny, but their reviews are not all about them, with a toy as an added bonus.

As for the review: This is probably only the second or third time I've watched his reviews, I don't think he does very many compared to peaugh or optibotimus (I'm probably wrong). I watched the reviews with my girlfriend and she thought he was entertaining, which is rare because she normally doesn't get why I watch someone else play with a figure I'm probably going to get anyways. A nice change of pace from watching the same two people all the time. He has a really nice filming technique, like showing closeups of the figures from a lot of angles. You can tell he puts effort into his videos, not just plopping a toy in front of the camera for 10 minutes then uploading it right away.

Yeah, he's a bit silly, and some of the jokes fall a bit flat, but I enjoy his toy reviews more than most others. His videos feel more like a real review to me, and less like a simple rundown of features and transformation that some other reviews give. You can tell he's passionate about toys and want's to tell you about them, good and bad. I like hearing from someone who has fun with their toys, and who seems to take time to think through the positives and negatives of them rather than just open the box, transform it a couple times, and then point a camera at it.
Though I will say, I do enjoy Peaugh's videos too. Quite a bit different than Vangelus', but I think they complement each other well.

Scorn looks like a great character in his own right. If my customizing skills were up to scratch I'd buy a few and paint one up in Energon Cruellock colours.
Also, I'm not getting the Vangelus hate. Peaugh gives very thorough, in-depth reviews, but they seem a bit too clinical and dull for my liking. Optibotimus does good reviews too, and I've found does a great job with comparisons and making up my mind what to buy, but I find he waffles on and reiterates the same points over and over a it too much. Vangelus is unique in that he manages to make his reviews genuinely entertaining whilst still remaining informative, and also gets a point across without an hour-long review. Generally speaking I'll only watch Peaugh and Optibotimus reviews to get an idea of how good a figure is, whereas I tend to watch Vangelus reviews over and over for the heck of it. I dunno, i like his goofiness. You can't be dead serious about everything after all.
Of course, we all know the best reviewer is in fact Thew.

I agree with pretty much all of this. I used to watch a lot of Optibotimus reviews but his fixed style and yes, actual repetition actually really does sometimes actually kinda get to me sometimes kinda. I've never been a huge fan of Peaugh's reviews, I just don't often find them that entertaining. I do find them informative though and will usually check both those guys and Baltmatrix if I'm interested in getting a bot. Especially if it's a pricey 3rd party item. I've watched a bunch of Vangelus reviews for stuff I've had no interest in at all because he's entertaining, and sure, maybe not as straight "step-by-step" as some others, but he clearly has passion for what he's reviewing and will give honest opinions.
I watch Thew's Reviews because he's the best. Seriously, can we start a kickstarter to fund him reviewing full-time?

The review is what it is to whoever watches it. To some it's good, to others it's not. Your style is successful depending on if it can fit well with your viewers. I'll never apologize for my style. I do repeat things often. I know that, but it's simply just me talking. I don't script things such as Vangelus does. I give him credit for that. But i like talking on camera as if i'm talking to someone in person. That's my style. It's also something i take pride in when someone comes up to me at a convention, talks to me and says that it's cool that i sound just like i do in my videos. I also know that i say several things, like words, often in videos. That comes with me not scripting things. It's not my style. I apologize for that. But there are a ton of reviewers out there. So if you don't like one persons style, you have a lot of other options. Sometimes you have to wait longer to see a review on a particular figure by the reviewer you prefer. But that's just the nature of things. That being said, i'm always grateful for the support that i've gotten over the years. Both from viewers, community members and sites like Seibertron. There are always bad apples in the bunch, but i try not to let those that are few and far between ruin it for everything as a whole. So thank you for the votes of confidence guys. My reviews of some deluxe figures from AOE should be up next week. I've had a hard time finding Canadian folks that can pick me up the figures.

Out of interest, do you know if/when there are any more of the 3rd-party FOC Dinobots coming out?

I feel the same. I love how Scorn's head is basically IDW Tailgate's. I also like how the Dinobots' "Knights" theme (perhaps that's why Botcon is doing it?) contrasts with the Samurai look of OP & Drift. I wasn't planning on getting any AOE stuff besides Evasion Optimus, but I might just have to hunt for these Dinos.

Autobot_Benz wrote:Hence why like many have stated I will wait for Optibotimus's professional review. Its the same reason I can't stand Emgo's reviews to much stupid humor.
Um, technically speaking, Vangelus' reviews are more "professional" because he writes scrips, does extensive editing, adds effects and such. I don't mean to bash on the other reviewers like Peaugh or Optibotimus, but really they just put the figure in frame and then talk about it as they transform it. It's simple, it's effective, it gets the point across and it does what it needs to, but Vangelus goes that extra little bit to make the review, not JUST informative, but entertaining as well. Of course he skips over things like transformation, details and such, but expect every reviewer to do everything the same. That would be boring.
Personally, I'm subscribed to Peaugh, Emgo, Thew, Vangelus, AND Optibotimus because there's some things I like about all of their reviews and some things I hate (like Emgo's "visible head syndrome" thing, I hate that), but they're not all going to review the same things, and if they do then they all have a different take on it.
EDIT
Oh yeah, and I love this Grimlock figure, looks good, orange bot, yay.
