The hollowness of the midsection when in robot mode just kills it for me. I'm also not a fan of that head sculpt. This is a bummer. Wake me up when Takara takes on the likes of Trailbreaker, Hoist, or Brawn. I want to see some trucks other than Prime and Magnus. The fact that were getting Shockwave, Arcee, Ironhide, and Hotrod 2.0 don't thrill me either.

Hollowness in the legs plus its the first review it could change plus its unlikely the legs just won't stand on the actual release plus ironhide looks great so why come you don't like him?
EDIT:we don't know if we are even getting arcee its possibly debunked with hound being on it

A few points I noted:
- The head and shoulders of the figure are at the same level as MP Wheeljack's and he only appears taller due to him being slimmer and having the extended wings.
- He has a massive backpack as well as a very big gap (hallowness) in his torso.
- He can carry Blaster inside the car.
- The leg transfomration is very involved.
Enjoy!

Yeah this blows really hard. This is what I needed to solidify my decision of waiting for the Hasbro release. If ever that doesnt come to pass, then I will be ok with it, I have no connection to tracks and the only reason I would want this toy is for the alt mode and to experience first hand that incredible looking leg transformation.

Those legs are definitely something unique to be sure

But the original's tf design was also hollow in the torso.

Well, obviously you should just get them both, I mean, why choose

The whole point of this line is to excel where the toys failed in the past. Using your argument of things being ok because of the original release, it would be ok if Ironhide didnt have a head.

Don't forget little Rust Dust! She makes Victorion a six member combiner.

While I agree with you, there is only so much that TT can cram into such a small car body, and still make it look great in each mode; remember, mp10 still has his entire crotch and obvious feet just chillin' out in the open (not even an attempt at 'fixing' the first ones problem of having them out in the open)

Budget is a nasty thing and unfortunately mine's not masterpiece worthy yet

How could I forget her. I was speaking in torso/limb modes only, but for corrections sake: 6-member combiner, complete with chest minion

Where pre tell then would you fit the hands? Of course it would be the back compartment. So once the arms are folded out, then it would be left hollow. Unless you put the arms into the cab but then again it would damage the chest aesthetic. If you copy the WJ style, then he wouldn't look like Tracks anymore.
And the analogy of its OK for IH to have no head does not hold water because the MP hopes to make a near identical analog of the anime figures. My "logic" as Burn previously mentioned is based on the pragmatic engineering design.
Let me repeat again, where should the arms be folded and still make the chest/torso appear solid? Remember the same argument with TAV Optimus Prime the big kahuna version?
Complaints of how hollow the legs are yet if you make it solid, you will cancel out the feature of his being a car carrier/trailer.
So in the end, practical engineering logic always trumps over the "I wish this or that" that is not founded of sound engineering logic.

November is still a ways away, and we don't know if the issue was manufacturing or licensing related. Hopefully the release doesn't move back any further.

I do not, but I was hoping that a masterpiece could close up a little tighter. That is just a large backpack with room to spare that could have been done a bit better

Distribution issues.Remember that big explosion in a port of China? That may be a contributing factor too.

I have never questioned Wheeljack. That guy screams Masterpiece and truly is amazing

The backpack isn't even supposed to be that much of a backpack. It's supposed to be more like a large hood that goes over his head rather than behind it.william-james88 wrote:The backpack doesnt bother me, its that gap which makes his body look really weird at the side. Don't you just hate it when reality so rudely stomps all over your lofty expectations?

While I understand the idea of limitations, I also don't believe in being too forgiving. This reminds me of all the fans saying that there was a reason Scrapper didnt have elbows for combining into generations Devastator. He didnt have elbows for stability. And it was almost accepted as a sad fact of life. But then we realized it wasnt true. He could have been improved upon, big time, and he was.
So while I totally get that limitations exist, I am never convinced that something could not have been done better. And my expectations do get loftier the more money I spend on a toy being released.

Agreed. But the gap does make his torso seem like it's too frontwards no? That's more my issue with him. Car looks amazing though and some of those action poses are really cool.

I see what you mean - from the side, it does look that way. But I'm overall happy with how he's looking, and I'm still curious whether the backpack will necessarily rest at an angle or if you're able to adjust it.
I'm just excited to get Tracks (and Road Rage!) in hand.

Btw, on a slight deviation, Sideswipe's back pack ain't that bad because that the max you can put in on given his earth mode design. I doubt it you can squeeze the figure any further.
