Greetings Seibertronians! With the Transformers Earthrise Target Exclusive Thundercracker and Skywarp set slowly trickling out to stores across the USA (and to third party websites across the globe), it makes sense that more and more reviews will pop up. Such as this video review by fellow Seibertron user, Chuckdawg1999. Check out his thoughts and review below.

chuckdawg1999 wrote:Thundercracker and Skywarp complete the classic Seeker trio for the Earthrise line. Both Thundercracker and Skywarp feature new faces that are different from Starscream. I'm pleased that the duo came early in the line and will be relatively easy to get. Highly recommended.

Greetings Seibertronians! Thanks to PrimalFury over at TFW2005, who seems to have gotten Earthrise Titan Class Scorponok early, we have some additional in hand images of Scorponok, though they are a little... Unconventional.

The first pictures shows off a fan mode that may be of interest to fans of Super God Masterforce, as PrimalFury turns Scorponok into the mode Black Zarak uses, as seen in the last episode of Masterforce!

The next set of pictures, PrimalFury has some fun and shows the cross compatiblity of putting Scorponok's head on Fortress Maximus's body, and welding both the Master Sword and the MegaZarak Shield.

Looking forward to getting this titan? Think the fan mode is a nod to something coming out down the line? Let us know in the Energon Pub and stay tuned to Seibertron for all the latest news and reviews!

The ER Scorponok mold stowing the scorpion legs does wonders for that mode.

Shoulders could do with the ability to raise up on top of the body but it wouldnt be a stretch for Takara to reengineer a titan. Black Zaraks one of those things I'd have to get with the original toy being so hard to get and gold cosmic rust. Would have been nice if the encore Knock offers had done him (and would have been nice for Takara to have done enocre Metrotitan :( ).

I really like the Titan mode Headsculpt that Scorponok has, something about it looks amazing in quality/build.

If you imagine the large orange circles at the wrists as eyes, they give the Dakatsu mode pretty freaky looking heads.

This guy looks like he's a quick hop away from being redecoed into BlackZarak. Really the only physical differences would be the head/face, I'm wondering if it would retool Scorp's existing head, or they would do what Masterforce did and give him a new, non-headmaster face.

I mean if we can get Brave Maximus, there's no reason to believe we wont be seeing BlackZarak. Besides, who could deny that it would look freakin epic? That black, red, and chromed gold...

Also we saw the sword-thing mode on Fasttrack, so that boxset could include a nice gold Black Roritchi.

That would be Titan pretooling's trial by fire. Devastator's already confirmed to have alternate parts, in his case alternate faces resembling the RiD 2001 Build Team plus two Double Targetmasters to fill in the ranks, so the foresight is already there. Scorponok having alternate parts to turn him into Black Zarak isn't that much of a stretch.

Wait did I miss something? Are we getting a new Devastator? Or are you talking about a retool of CW Devy to resemble the Rid2001 Build Team?

But also yes, not much of a stretch at all. I was worried that the Hasbro/Takara consistency merger would rob us of exclusives referencing the Japanese G1, but so far I'm glad that's not totally the case. I mean we got a confirmed, complete God Neptune much sooner than any of us thought.

It's very common for molds to have alternate, gang-molded parts that can be switched out, something Selects makes full use of. CW Devastator has them as I described them (RiD 2001 Build Team plus Scoop and Quickmix, merge into RiD 2001 Landfill), but they ultimately went unused.

Wait, so if they had actually used thoae pretooled heads for Devy... we would have gotten 2 different toys of Scoop in like 3 years?????

Yep. Those alternate heads exist, but never got used. Hasbro actually once offered them to Fun Pub to use, but Fun Pub didn't use them because they honestly thought Hasbro was gonna use them. Thus, neither group ended up using them.

Back to a possible Black Zarak, I wonder how Hasbro would pull it off. I mean, we can assume the parts are designed, we don't know what kind tho: alternate parts for the mid-stage, or a ginormous helmet like the original.

Probably alternate parts for the Deluxe. I think the transformation scheme lends itself, for one thing, with the way the face cover moves.

Plus on the original Black Zarak the helmet was a case of trading one ginormous helmet for another (one which was obviously part of the same after-the-fact supplemental mold as the Tyrant Spear); with the ER mold, I think it would be simpler to pretool the Black Zarak head as alternate parts for the Deluxe-size head.

I do hope they create Black Zarak, although I'm betting they'll call him Dark Zarak.
I think a little work on the claws could make them a little more dragon head like and work a little better then the original version's claws. I would hope they keep the head a headmaster just for the fun of it.

pics are up on tfw2005 of earthrise 2nd wave in packaging/product shots.

Smokescreens feet are that hollow they dont have a 5mm port on the bottom but look to have some holey heel boxes that might be able to rotate.

Arcees box art is kinda misleading , if you take the hover board of her back there is no way the remainder is anywhere near the creative box art.

Man, I was initially interested in Smokescreen... But those feet look whack.
Looking more and more likely that 35th Anniversary Prime may be the only Autobot I end up buying from these WfC and ER lines...

Definitely interested in that Allicon though, and possibly multiples.

Those feet are G1 but trading the mermaid syndrome in for ankle tilts.

Also, that Smokescreen shot is old news. :P

What I would like to see in WFC is some long-needed love for G1 human cast. Starting of course with Sparkplug and young Spike, then moving on to older Spike and Daniel. There's also Chip Chase and Dr. Arkeville. Maybe they could be made like the EE FE kids from Prime that were in the 2-pack a decade ago.

That's a thought.

Maybe those would sell better than the Micromasters. On the other hand, they might jolt the "Eww human character cooties" fans into crawling out from under their rocks and making noise again.
Re: Video Review Round Up Of Transformers Earthrise Target Exclusive Thundercracker and Skywarp (2070195)
Posted by Jeddostotle7 on July 3rd, 2020 @ 12:23am CDT
I would like something like a special pack of classic G1 human characters (Pulse exclusive or something if necessary), about Micromaster size, maybe with at least a little articulation. Maybe as like a once-a-year format/price-point, and they could use it to get more G1 human characters, and the human characters from other series, like Armada, etc. They could probably keep 'em the same size for several series they do it for, since G1, Armada, Energon, RID2001 are all in the same scale range.

Greetings Seibertronians! Fellow Seibertron users, Blackeyedprime and -WonkoTheSane-, we've learned that the website DorksideToys, had updated their Earthrise deluxe wave 2 listings with in package photos. Wave 2 consists of Alicon, Arcee, Earth Mode Smokescreen and Micromaster Base Airwave. Airwave, like Ironworks before him, can assume different layouts due to his parts forming, and can be used as armour on other compatible figures. Check out the new images below!

I kind of have to pick up smokescreen. The last attempt was more than dissapointing for me but this time around an autobot car with no miscolored panels and the wheels/hubs match (even bonus points for the rear wheels being larger and true to the car).

Allicons probably going to be just the one (and then a netflix version if any or/and a studio series version)

Arcee is still a pass with me having a TR and Genrations version, plus with a better chance of a repaint or yet another figure coming out there is no real reason to buy her.

Airwave has gone from instant buy to probably passing. I like the idea of the new base guys more than their execution with Ironworks just seeming meh to me in hand, think I'd rather not spend the money on them and track down the g1 toys at some point.

As much as I've always wanted an Allicon figure to exist, I can't unsee how badly integrated those arms are in both modes. With the Beast Mode especially, it is like they didn't even try.

Yeah, I feel you on this. I guess they sort of gave up?

Still going to get three, though.

Was there any solid news on the Takara versions getting new color schemes? I've heard conflicting news on whether that would be a thing or not.

I wouldn't expect it. Takara and Hasbro have been using the same decos for the main line since Power of the Primes. Selects is the only place where Takara does their own thing any more.

I feel the same way and hate that fact because I'm going to get three myself. But could the figure in the pic be mistransformed? That's what I'm hoping...

And on another note...was there a release date for the Target clones?

The only place you might get a different color scheme for Alicon now is Studio Series if he gets a release as part of the 86 animated movie. Actually scratch that, there's two possibilities as there's rumours that he may actually be the deluxe quint listing for the Netflix Deluxes. But yeah, brand unification is in full force as far as Earthrise releases go, no matter your place in the world.

TBH ... I'm pretty good with this as far as Alicon is concerned. As an army builder I'd want that variant, but as a toy he's kind of not worth the price hike.

Kinda irritated how simplistic the Allicon seems to be, but regardless, I’ll be army building him like I did the Sharkticons. Definitely skipping Arcee, I’m perfectly happy with the Deluxe from 2014-ish. Smokescreen I was initially going to skip since I have the Siege Datsuns but he’s warming up to me so I’ll probably get him and the inevitable other two; I just hope they won’t be as stressful to get as Thundercracker and Skywarp we’re. Airwave is a definite buy, but I notice that his head seems to be slightly different: did he always have the monocle in the middle of his face?

I heard that as well, hopefully if those sets become reality they won’t be like Siege Skywarp and friends (who I had before I got the new one) and be crazy ridiculous on the aftermarket. I’m kinda tired of big name characters being exclusives, selling out quick, and being expensive later in the future. I’m no completionist but I want to get as much of the modernized 84/85 cast as possible. I wasn’t even thought of when it was a thing so this is kinda my way of living that experience out.

Greetings Seibertronians! Fellow Seibertron user, Ham-Man, has dropped us a line to let us know that they've done a brand new video review of the forthcoming Battlemaster Slitherfang from the Transformers War for Cybertron: Earthrise line! Slitherfang is a bit unique in the fact that he doesn't have a traditional robot mode, instead going from his alt mode (normally a shield for larger figures, but if you combine multiple Slitherfangs, you can make ramps out of them like Soundbarrier) to a robot snake mold! Joining a very small list of Transformers that turn into snakes in some regard. He's also not listed as either Autobot or Decepticon but instead as a Quintesson

Slitherfang is part of the second wave of Battlemasters, along with a re-release of Siege Rung (his deco is unchanged).

We have embedded the review for your viewing pleasure.

Will you be stocking up on Slitherfang to grow your transformers city? Let us know in the Energon Pub and stay tuned to Seibertron for all the latest news and reviews!

I think it's supposed to create a kind of variety on the shelves instead of the same names appearing (though some same names are allowed...) but exclusives bring with them their own problems, it's very hard to balance.

Personally, I'd rather the 'big names' be exclusives than not get them at all.
