Via fellow Seibertronian Abejorro1997, we have a new video review for a figure from the second wave of Transformers: Power of the Primes toys - one that we have seen in our in-hand images covered here: Blackwing, the second jet in the old Powermaster power couple with Dreadwind!

The video, from xcorpeo, shows the vehicle mode of the Deluxe class jet, its robot mode, superjet Dreadwing mode, comparisons with Combiner Wars Cyclonus and the figures arm mode for more combination opportunities, shown here with Dreadwind again, and using Cyclonus as the torso. Check it out below, and join the discussion in the Energon Pub!

Deluxe wave 2 have now been found at wall Mart. But we would need a sighting of our own, so if anyone finds them at Walmart please let us know.

With all the posts on Elita-1, I'm surprised noone seems to have mentioned the fact that her combiner mode has her robot mode chest as a butt, and therefore, somewhat bizarrely for a transformer, has a posterior that wont quit.

The Wal-Mart near me always, always looks wrecked and unclean so I had started avoiding it, but they have made headway in their grocery dept. looking decent. The toy area was a mess, but until these figures pop up elsewhere,.Wal-Mart is now a normal stop for me.

Just a quick question for anyone interested...
After doing a small amount of research it seems a "Unite Warriors" type of line for PotP combiners is only rumor at this point.
Does anyone have any more info about this? Those of you that remember me, I'm beyond excited about Abominus finally making his way into a line.
If there's going to be a Japanese version which is more cartoon-accurate, I'll hold off on looking in stores and bite my time.
Any insight is appreciated!

And speaking of Walmart, the couple local stores that I frequent have had a decent selection even though the actual section space for TF's has been pretty small.
I've already been tempted to pick up a couple Dinobots, but again, if these are released in a Japanese line with more show accurate paint apps, I'm more than willing to wait.

Thanks, and hope you all have been well!

The Dinobots will be released in Japan as is, same paint apps, same stickers, no differences whatsoever (same goes for all of PotP, really). The Terrorcons's status as a "Classic Combiner" may allow them to be released as a UW exclusive set, but restarting the line with just one item?

That's an...interesting? name. Yeah, still not so wanting to own her. The in hand photos are not so bad, I guess I just have no real connection to her outside a few old G1 episodes.

The only mode he's lacking from the original is the truck mode (which was/is arguably the weakest mode anyways). We've seen the jet mode on the Hascon teaser from last year, plus you can have the big Primal use the small one as a surfboard.

Via the official Facebook page for the Transformers brand, we have some official imagery for today's 'reveals' more or less, in some cases, from New York Toy Fair 2018 for the Power of the Primes line.

As covered in the Hasbro Brand panel at the event - which you can read here - these include characters such as Deluxes Moonracer, Nova Star, Legends Tailgate, Battleslash and Roadtrap, Voyager Elita-1, and leader Optimal Optimus. Also included is imagery of Titan class Predaking, whose discussion thread can be found here; as for the rest, join the discussion in the Energon Pub by replying to this post below!

im trying to figure out what the hell bludgeons alt mode is.

im THINKING its a club/nightstick ?

if so its at least a variation as i cant believe bomburts is ANOTHER claw weapon.

STILL im getting these lads as i like the shell mode the most. that said i leave it up to better minds than mine to figure out octopunchs intended weapon mode :D :D :D :D

i'll be picking up the girls as ive got jazz already so with alita its another bot combiner for my shelf (and i like her take on the mold over starscreams)

but my true love in this line is abominus.

god he looks great, and all the vids ive seen of hun gurr have me convinced he'll be a joy to pose (those heads are just so articulate)

I'm really digging everything in PotP. All the stuff shown is pretty much a guaranteed purchase for me, but I will say that I'm kinda disappointed we didn't get any info about stuff that wasn't already rumored. I would have liked to know who the last pieces of Elita InfinONEte and the Screamer combiner are gonna be.

Pretty sure it's supposed to be a Kanabo, a Japanese studded club that Samurai used, they tend to be octagonal, and have metal studs running down the sides, not so sure it carries over to the alt mode, it might be a gun, maybe, but the part the tm uses is definitely a Kanabo

Some mixed feelings about this batch:
Prime Master sculpts look amazing, though I’m curious about octopunch’s face. Bomb-burst especially oozes evil, and bludgeon’s weapon is just unfortunate a surprising and unique piece of real-world inspiration.
Battle trap is bought on sight, looks like a huge step forward in engineering as many have already said.
Nova star’s gun is cool. And that’s it; colors look pretty atrocious in the floor pictures and the back kibble...
Elita 1 is not for me. They probably could have made a better one out of Pyra Magna, saved some of that ever-shrinking budget. Even the headsculpt looks derpy to me from the in-hand photos. Maybe it’s better in person?
Conflicted on primal. Optimal Optimus is passable (grey chest can be painted) but doesn’t have much of a place in my collection.
Razor claw looks like he belongs with the Cyberverse reveals. ‘Nuff said.

Elita and Optimus are bought on sight, though Moonracer and Novastar are still on my maybe pile. Predaking does't look very appealing to me, he's not quite as good as Devastator design-wise, and I am a bit sad that Prime Master Onyx will only be sold with Predaking because I wanted every Prime Master but didn't want to add any more Titans to my collection. Speaking of Prime Masters, I love that Bludgeon turns into a weapon made for bludgeoning.

HAH! Called it that Megatronus & Bomb-Burst are retools of Liege Maximo & Skullgrin  Bludgeon is all new and so is Octopunch surprisingly enough. Both are styled after the G1 Pretenders's inner robots, nice :)

The rest looks pretty decent, but what is up with Divebomb?

So Elita 1, nova star, moonracer, Arcee, Nautilus and Duct tape :) It will still look better than volcanus :P

Predakings looking very power rangerish which woudl be okay if they had kept the spiked gloves and sword. Pretty sure the initial sketch designs of the optimal optimus had the car mode (with him being able to transform and roll out), if not a lego mars missions wheel and duct tape should sort it out. I wonder why there is such a market for third party stuff.

Well, nertz. Star Saber's a perfect candidate for the Evolution gimmick, and it's not like they'd have to make him a psycho like in IDW.

I hope we'll be getting some more combining Legends guys, though, because I'm super stoked for Battletrap. Come on, Flywheels/Slamdance/Beastbox/someone else!

Another gallery from Seibertron directly from New York City and the Toy Fair 2018 brings us the big, but not biggest, full colour reveal from the Hasbro Showroom - the protagonist of the Power of the Primes line under many aspects, and definitely the boss bot many will remember from childhoods: leader class Optimal Optimus, the winner of the 2017 fan vote!

The gallery, which you can view in full here, accompanies the initial look we reported on here and the official image posted by Transformers Facebook earlier today. Check out a selection below, spotlighting the two main modes for the Evolved version, and the Optimus Primal sk8r munky mode looking proud!

I would have loved a star saber in this evolution gimmick but alas it was not meant to be apparently. Though I'm curious is primal getting put out on his own or is one of the other leaders being re-released alongside him.

Also I share yourhope for the other duocon and I think it would be neat if you could mix and match with them...wouldn't be that hard to pull off right?

I know many clues point to PotP not being long for this world, but I really hope we get enough deluxes to round out complete combiners. Abominus is already set, but we need at least one more Autobot or two more Decepticons in order to have more than ONE complete combiner in the whole toyline. Ideally, we'd get two more fembots to complete Elita Infin1te, three more carbots for the Inferno torso, and two more cons for Starscream. Unless they've really been keeping things under wraps, this isn't looking very likely. :(

predaking looks amazing just a little skinny looking, same thing with OPOP, looks a lil skinny but still looks awesome regardless, always been a fan beast wars, ambominus looks beautiful. also is it me or do those prime masters appear to have screws instead of the pins, bit strange to change over to pins for the next wave. the customs for this wave will be amazing :x

I am in love with the Optimal Optimus. His grey cockpit doesn't bother me; it may actually be an improvement. The only negative IMO is the fact that he is a modern toy, which means hollow parts that will look very cheap next to the original toy (specifically the inner thighs, Hasbro's favorite place to hollow out a Transformer).

Check out below a selection of the newer figures from the displays, including the original names of the Terrorcon team, with Voyager and torso Hun-Gurrr, and limbs Rippersnapper, Blot, Cutthroat, and Sinnertwin. you could always take some rejects from other teams to fill out Inferno and Starscream.
Alpha Bravo and Rook are homeless now that Slingshot and deluxe Groove took their jobs back, so there's 2 limbs for Inferno.
if the rumors anout UW shuttle mode Blastoff getting a us release are true, then you can kick CW jet Blastoff off of your Bruticus, pair him up with Offroad and toss them onto Starscream.

Do we have any proof that PotP is ending after Wave 4? That and I wonder if there is anything new in that wave or if it's repack-and-one-new-figure (which makes me damn glad I don't intend to chase down Novastar becasue Slugslinger was a P A I N to chase down at retail)? Is that reallly it for Potp?

Edit: Btw I may be in the minority but I actually think this Optimal Optimus is looking quite nice. It was never intended to be a 1:1 remake of the original toy and I'm fine with the compromises it take given that beside the new gimmick they fully committed to keeping it's overall design very close to the original. Plus, in spite of how little he used in in the show, the robot and beast mode were always the main attraction for a Beast Wars figure. And, oh man, does he look like one.

Hmmm. some of the bots on the wave is missing, Flywheels and other Duocons were missing in this wave.
