Thanks once again to Seibertronian chuckdawg1999 we have a new video review and our first in hand look at Cyberverse Scout Class Scraplet and Energon Axe Attack Optimus Prime!
Fans have been especially excited for Scraplet being our first official figure of the biggest natural threat to Transformers life since cosmic rust and gold plastic syndrome. Chuck points out, and rightfully so, that Scraplet is probably the only Scout class figure many fans will ever buy and they'll likely be buying multiples. While it's a very simple figure with no articulation worth mentioning it does look good in both modes and has an effective gimmick that can be used in either mode.
As for Energon Axe Attack Optimus Prime it appears to be either a new mold or an extensive retool of the previous Ion Burst Optimus Prime figure. While the bot mode is a little more colorful this time around with more detailed paint apps and an open face head sculpt, the alt mode isn't very appealing to adult collectors and the new battle gimmick is very awkward.
Chuck also points out that while these haven't turned up at most retailers yet, both online and off, you can get Scraplet and Energon Axe Attack Optimus Prime on the still running Hasbro Toy Shop eBay store right now!

With TF:Prime being my G1 2.0, Scraplet was a figure I was very excited about. It doesn't look all that good and seems off from what I remember. I do like the hypno spinning mouth part.
Hey Chuckery, when you going review Gnaw? I'm still interested in adding that bot to the sharktiswam.

Not the first time I made that slip. I think Gnaw is part of this wave but it wasn't up on eBay. Amazon is funny like that too with the armor figures. All of the small ones but Sky Byte.

Yes, but not in this form, and I think this is a case of the Cover outperforming the original. Maybe it just has to do with the Pdime version bei g more recent and therrfore more relevent, but I think down the road if you say "Scraplet", people are gonna think of the these silver bug-eyed mouthful of sawblade critters and not the almost disney comic looking Marvel Scraplets that were literal living nuts and bolts

First off from our own Seibertronian ScottyP comes sightings of some of the new Cyberverse Basic Assortment at a Target in North Carolina. Scotty learned that basics are $14.99, and Elite are $24.99. The case breakdown for Basics looks to be 2x Starscream, 2x Sky Byte, 1x Prowl and 1x Jetfire. Elite seems to be 2x Optimus, 1x Bee, and 1x Megatron. (Also spotted at the same Target was the new Siege Micromaster 10 pack so make sure and check your local stores they're definitely making their way across the nation)
Then thanks to a member named terrific over at TFW2005 we've learned the new Tiny Turbo Changers Series 1 has hit the shelves of at least one WalMart in Ottawa, Canada. They've also learned a way to decode which character is in which blind bag! The code starts with a letter of the alphabet and it’s this letter that tells you who is inside. terrific has also provided us the full list of codes.
Tiny Turbo Changers Series 5 Identification Codes list:
A – Bumblebee
B – Optimus Prime
C – Grimlock
D – Autobot Hot Rod
E – Jetfire
F – Autobot Drift
G – Blackarachnia
H – Decepticon Shockwave
I – Soundwave
J – Megatron
K – Starscream
L – Prowl
Then lastly thanks to a listing at Amazon Mexico we have an image of the lineup for Series 2 of the Tiny Turbo Changers. In it we see Starscream, Megatron, Drift, Prowl, Grimlock, Jetfire Hot Rod, Shockwave, Black Arachnia, Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, and Soundwave.

Each of the Spark Armor figures seems to enjoyably blur the line between real world application and wild creativity and rampant fun with the play pattern. Ratchet is no exception. That being said one thing you can't deny is that armor looks pretty cool on Ratchet.

Or Transmetal Rhinox! His alt mode was sort of the first snowmobile, right? It may have been called a tank, but there were skis in the front.Skritz wrote:Is that a friggin skidoo?! Someone repaint this guy into Snowcat or Icepick ASAP! We need more snow-bots!

Like Starscream's legs being one piece, all for the sake of the gimmick.

Jazz's design reminds me of another design... something to do with pots and pies...
Anyway, his Autobot symbol is the Bayformers version, compared to the G1 versions of the rest.

And that Ratchet is perfect. Proving that the best part of Cyberverse is the Armor guys.

Woah, nice catch!
I didn't see that until you pointed it out.
(This makes me realize that I still need to find a Henkai Jazz for relatively cheap)

They're not, different mechanisms. In fact, the One-Step range hardly has retools to begin with, just figures using the same style over and over.
:EDIT: and this is where re-releasing characters in the same Size Class gets confusing: It's the first One-Step, not the one shown in these images. Still not a retool: different parts, but same style.

Hang on, let's start over...
As said before, releasing characters multiple times in a single Size Class gets confusing. Jazz is indeed based on the first One-Step Prowl:
And from the looks of it some parts like the blasters, feet, wheels and internal mechanisms are reused. Indeed a retool or reshell. I stand corrected.
