chuckdawg1999 wrote:Continuing the Deluxe Class subline of Cyberverse, Hot Rod is a solid figure that's a great representation of the animated design. Transformation is smooth but satisfying, although there are some details missing like Hot Rod's trademark yellow spoiler. The blast effects are a nice addition but I feel a handheld weapon would've been a nice addition. Definitely worth a pick up for your Cyberverse collection.

They were not present at the show.
Well, that sucks.
Iaconus has an Ultimate Class listing from a while back, remember?

Gotta say, i dig what i see that. He is not perfect, yes, but for what it is, he looks to be a pretty fun toy. Might end up licking him up.

Rack n' Ruin is a very unique character to Transformers, and one whom took a long time to finally get his first toy. Rack n' Ruin debuted as a set of conjoined Autobots who were members of the Wreckers back in the original Marvel Comics, though much like their leader Impactor, it took time for them to break away from the comic world and into other media.
Transformers Cyberverse introduced Rack n' Ruin in Season 1 of the show, and he has been a regular background character for Season 2 and 3, even showing up as the Captain of one of the Arks in the Season 2 finale! And with Impactor finally getting some mainline toy love and Whirl getting some cartoon love (finally), it seems it is Rack n' Ruins turn to join them in toy form.
The new toy is part of the Ultra Class assortment, and will be around $20 USD. He has the armor up gimmick that Clobber has, and much like her, he has some decent articulation and a pretty neat transformation.

So the first email they sent me yesterday said the release date had been changed to 2/27, but backordered to 3/6. Now I've just received another email saying backordered to 3/16. Really hope this order doesn't get canceled.

Geez, this isn't sounding good.
A friend on Twitter has his delivery date updated to 3/6 for those toys, so it seems weird stuff is afoot here.

i'm glad Dead End and the Scraplet are my only 2 scouts, they are not that good, but i'm glad to have Dead End, he ended up being my favorite con! Soundwave is pretty alright, he's not great, but he will do. I loved him in Season 3. I just wish his faceplate was the same as the show model, I'm contemplating shaving it town and painting the eyes red to match the show model.
Repugnus is wonderful, that is what the 1-steps were supposed to be, I love him. the beast mode is super cute, and the transformation is great. I love how you can't really see the robot mode is beast mode. This is the 1 step we always needed.
Now to hunt down the remainder of the Resistance and the other cyberverse guys I want:
-1-step Whirl
-the 4 final deluxes / Maccadam
-Warrior Hammerbyte
-Ultra Rack n' Ruin
-Ultimate Iaconus
-Meteorfire
-Wildwheel
With them, I now have the con half of the Resistance!
And the irony of getting Repugnus while wearing a Repugnus!

Also, it's really cool to see the height different from beast to robot mode for Repugnus. They nailed him.
And I predict that in the next TV show, Grotusque will finally get a new animated show model and toy, following Twinferno (RiD2015) and Grotusque (Cyberverse)

At this point, I don’t give a bleep, just give me a good, well articulated, properly painted, accurate Deluxe-ish Starscream based on his appearance in Cyberverse. And then pump Seekers out of it while they’re at it.

Here's hoping they can churn them all out by the end of this year, since this is Cyberverse's final year for the show.Mindmaster wrote:Sabrblade wrote:If they do make a Deluxe Starscream, it'll probably be in his normal body rather than that upgraded one.Mindmaster wrote:I want that Starscream but I’ll do what I did with Bee and gunna hold off in the hopes they do an actual Deluxe that’ll do him justice. His body just felt too...angular? It just didn't convince me that he was a "transformer" so to speak, not quite sure how to explain it.
Love the character himself in the show and like his head design.

chuckdawg1999 wrote:Hasbro must have heard the cries from the masses since these new mold Warrior Class figures feature articulation that's comparable with Deluxe Class figures. Both Starscream and Hammerbyte feature an action gimmick that's the signature of the Warrior Class line but they really don't get in the way of the basic movements of the figures. Unfortunately, the gimmicks are still a little fiddly, not as bad as before, but enough to make you pause for a moment of reflection. Ultimately these are good, not great figures.

The only Seekers I really liked in the show, design wise, were Slipstream and Thundercracker. I wasn't really a fan of how the rest turned out.
And this seems to be the only seeker toy that really came out good, expect maybe Slipstream, but i never saw her in person to judge properly

I suppose the colors were hit or miss, by design I meant the body shape that the rest of the Seekers used and not necessarily the colors.
I was just glad to have gotten so many Seekers in the show since it's been a long time with their last major appearance being in Animated (I know Dreadwing in Prime is said to be a Seeker and presumably Skyquake was as well but they were new characters which was fine but you know)
Glad to have gotten some first screen appearances from characters like Acid Storm and Nova Storm, Cyberverse was great with the amount of cast they had.

Personally, I loved the Black, Green and Blue seeker that we had previously dubbed Changeling/Changewing

Until I get Whirl (I've seen he is really good too), he is the definitive 1-step for me, he's just that good. You should pick one up, he is ridiculously fun!

Sabrblade wrote:Repugnus also has so much redeco potential. The show introduces so many other Monsterbots and Energon Masters, all of whom share his body-type.
I would gladly take more and army build, he is a really good mold.
I'm actually very happy with my current Cyberverse collection, and with what it will eventually look like. I kinda regret passing on the Scout Shadowstriker and Ultra Slipstream, I did like both of them in the show, but never really could commit to them, and still might try to get them eventually. Season 3 was just so good, and it feels good to have or be getting some of the characters from that parts of the show.

I get the feeling that Hasbro made the toys first and that Boulder Media simply worked them into the third season by crafting stories around them a la the old days of the pre-2007 era.D-Maximal_Primal wrote:Season 3 was just so good, and it feels good to have or be getting some of the characters from that parts of the show.

Makes me sad that we are not getting a Cyberverse Perceptor. and it makes me eager to see Iaconus and Skullcruncher. And to get Maccadam, Rack n' Ruin, Whirl, Hammerbyte, Wild Wheel, Meteorfire, and the deluxes.
Posted by Burn on March 13th, 2020 @ 4:32am CDT
Now I've seen plenty of people having a good ol whinge fest about them, but I don't see why. I found them to be bloody good figures. Megatron is a little on the loose side, and Optimus' plastic is transparent at some points, but other than that, they're solid figures.
I like that there seems to be more pieces to lock in together making the alt modes solid. They also seem to have a good range of poseability.
Good figures, bring on the rest so I can finish off ol Macca.

Rack n' Ruin was a comic original character from the Marvel G1 comics, where they served as members of the Wreckers, and much like their buddy Impactor, they made quite an impact with readers of the day. they briefly showed up in the IDW comics, but until Cyberverse, that was about the limit of their fictional appearances, with no toys either.
But then Cyberverse happened, where Rack n' Ruin became show characters and proved to be quite fun in the show. And with their show appearance, they have finally been granted a toy in the form of this Ultra Class figure, which is quite posable for the size class, much like Clobber, and is available for $19.99. You can pick it up at the above link, and let us know what you think in the comments section below!

Hammerbyte is a really cool warrior. The transformation is actually quite intuitive, and the shark mode is really cool. Except for no head movement, he is really good!
Rack n' Ruin is also a joy. The comments for him are similar to Hammerbyte, with the lack of any head movement being any sort of detriment. But they are really cool and the alt mode is nice too.
They are both fun!
