Drift is of course based on idw character of the same name.

It's most likely Japanese...
Oh and, LOOK AT DEM JOINTS HATERS!!! Ha!
He's gonna make a great Blurr! Er, so long as he gets the new head and weps promised.

He'll be the second best Blurr, right after Animated Blurr.
I don't understand why people say this is too kibbly and unstreamlined to be Blurr and then praising Armada Blurr in the same sentence.
This is Armada Blurr:
And this is his alt-mode:
Hanging off his back he's almost as bad as Universe Silberbolt.

If you like the aesthetics of Animated, then that Blurr is obviously the best. I, for one, loathe the animated designs. So Animated Blurr doesn't even come up as a blip on my radar.
As for Drift, he looks like a heck of a toy. I probably won't buy him, but I can appreciate how good he looks. I still don't see Blurr coming out of that mold.

Oh that wasn't praising the Animated stuff, I like them but I know and understand why people don't like them as I hate the animation style myself. It was more a stab at people who claim that Drift would make for a crap Blurr as it's not as awesome as Armada Blurr since it's too kibbly and not at all streamlined.
Up to date Animated Blurr is the only Blurr to have almost full articulation and actually being streamlined, till Drift gets his Blurr treatment that is.

I don't think Drift would make a bad Blurr, but in my limited capacity, I'm not seeing the fit. I do agree that whatever mold is used needs to be streamlined in both modes. So in that sense, Animated Blurr does fit the bill. I am VERY anxious to see the Blurr version of this mold.

I too can't wait to see the Blurr version, the fit comes from the idw comics in which they share the same design, save for the head and the doors hanging off the hips.

I gotta say that's a toy I want, even if what I've heard of the character does nothing for me. And there's just somethign about comic-first guys that i like.
I just need *one* version of this mold, though, so I just won't get Blurr. Animated Blurr looks fine in my collection as Blurr anyway ... but I don't see any use in complaining about more Blurr love. If you don't think Drift will make a good Blurr, don't buy it.

But WHY OH WHY did they have to waste such a wonderful bit of engineering on a contrived Mary-sue character like Drift?!? We still do not have a Classics/Universe/Generations Jazz, Wheeljack, or Tracks, deluxe size cars this 'slot' in the line would have been better for. And important characters like Galvatron get crappy moulds...
Sigh.
At least we are going to get a Blurr retool from this awesome looking mould. And if the rumours of a Kup in the near future are true, we could have a nice little season 3 Autobot cast going on with Protector, Defender and City Commander.

This is my argument.. Too much kibble and not enough streamline in bot mode especially..
I am interested in seeing how they make him into Blurr also.

Really? Over 9 minutes and we didn't even see the transformation... I may be in the minority here, but I find the transformation to be about 90% of the whole reason for a video review...otherwise pics can cover most of the other info well enough.

Hasbro, I grant you to make as many repaints of this figure that you would like. lol

Also: WHY would some one want to leave the Decepticons? C'mon! Evil is fun! We have BBQ's, you're mad and wanna blow something up, go do it! You always hear about characters joining the Decepticons and then defecting to the Autobots, why are there never (or rarely ever, cause I can't recall if there was actually never) any Autobots who buggered off to the Decepticons?

I wonder what sort of fantasy-self insert character Pat Lee would have put into the transformers comics he made?
He *did* design the Fallen.
It helps that Pat Lee wasn't writing TFs.

On the subject of the Blurr repaint, if I remember correctly Hasbro said they would remold him to have guns, right? If they do that, what are the chances of getting an earth mode Deadlock figure by remolding it back, repainting it and keeping the guns? Could be a future Generations release or even a Botcon/TFCC exclusive.

He made a design which was ultimately not used, the design used in the actual comics was done by Andrew Wildman.

There was a link near the end for the transformation. I didn't watch it because I'd rather find it out for myself. This is one of the few reviews that actually goes in-depth about articulation and shows some poseability.

Guess you actually had to sit through the whole thing to see that there was a link...I kinda stepped through after about 4 or 5 minutes of him just talking.

Once the pre-order goes up for the Takomy version of this, I will be getting that too.

Some converting,some not.
I've always like the henkei versions better, but now they are finally hitting ebay more and more loose, I had to pass when they originally came out.
I got Henkei Astrotrain yesterday, puts the hasbro one to shame. I have Henkei V-megs and Cyclonus. I want Prime, Hound, Jetfire, and maybe Inferno, Dinobot and Smokescreen.
I've decided that Ratchet, Ironhide, Prowl, Bluestreak and the twins are not worth getting the Henkei versions, as I don't care for the IH/Ratchet mold, nor do I care much for the Prowl/SS/BS mold.
Anyone selling the above mentioned Henkei's? LMK!

Yo, so on the same page on what I want from the Henkei line and Hasbro.
My current Henkei want list is small, only needing Megs, and Smokescreen which I'll probably get at Botcon. Smokescreen will be the 1st Henkei figure of that mold since I already have Hasbro's Silverstreak and Prowl. I just prefer the paints apps on that. Henkei Hound is awesome and I would've gotten Jetfire if I already didn't own Hasbro's version. It was a store impulse buy.

Every time I pick up a Henkei I have been selling the Hasbro version, and so far I have been making up about 2/3 the cost of the Henkei versions that way. Not too shabby. I did keep both versions of Cyclonus, and my sons will end up with Classics Hound, but classics Jetfire and Prime should do pretty well.
