I need to find the guy who's in charge of naming the minicons and buy him a drink. Or ten. He deserves it.

Probably wont happen. RID hasnt been doing cross redecos all that much. The most interesting one they did was simply having grimlick G1 coloured. I wouldnt expect any redecos into different characters from this line.

If anything AoE Scorn would have been the dead ringer for a Beast Wars Megs :BOT:

Not really. That line even had it's own T-Rex mold.

I dont get the need to redeco everything into anything that has some semblance. Arent we sick of redecos?

There are great versions of BW Megs out there, better than anything suggested here. If anybody wants a decent beast wars megs, get those.

If it is a good mold and it works for more than one character, than I don't mind repaints/retools. Combiner wars has overdone it a bit, but that's not a full deterent. also, we must remember that there are only so many ways transformers can transform and many of them share transformations or alt modes.

That being said, this does look like a great mold. it is very similar to the warrior but a bit different, and they did an awesome job with Grims energon parts as a t-rex head. I really like it :BOT:

well remember Takara did repaints of CW Blackjack & Groove as Runabout & Override! with RID packaging & stickers(those scanning type ones for the RID android game)

so it's in the realms of possibility for Takara to do one! but they probably would have to make at least SOME cosmetic changes! i just don't think he could be accepted if you JUST repainted him the BW Megatron colours.

but like William said....i don't think it'll ever happen.

Fellow Seibertronians, hot on the heels of the in-hand images, and the video review of Grimlock vs. Back Mini-con Battle Pack, we have a review of the RID Mini-con Battle Pack Bumblebee vs. Major Mayhem from fellow Seibertronian chuckdawg1999. Check out the review and leave your thought in the comments below.

chuckdawg1999 wrote:Those of us who have been around for awhile know that when Hasbro introduces a new line, the first wave or so really isn't indicative of the overall series. Such is the case with the Minicon Battle Packs. Bumblebee is a smaller, pocket sized version of the Warrior Class figure, with a few additional ball joints. The armor comes together nicely both in the combined weapon mode, and attached to bumblebee. Major Mayhem is a cool name but these new Minicons just don't do it for me.

Alright then, not sure whether to be happy or scared that I remember Bakugan exists, and that I still have my entire Bakugan collection. But yeah, I might get some Cyclone Miniconsjust because they remind me of Bakugan so much.

well for anyone who's interested(although i highly doubt it) here's a mockup repaint i found of what a possible BW Megs could've looked like(although i still say it would also need some retooling as well as just a repaint to make it more accurate)

And because of that everyone and their mother accuses Hasbro of ripping of Bakugan. Which I think is pretty shortsighted. Sure, they're round, they can transform, but that's where it ends.

Not sure I'd everyone caught that but that leader scaled optimus is another simplified big toy. It converts in 7 steps. Seems to be this year's 5 step megatronus.

So, i picked up some minicons yesterday and they are pretty cute and awesome little guys. Also discovered (dunno if this has been said before) but their weapons can be used with the legion guys who need a weapon. They work pretty nice too!

I also love how you can configure Fracture's front wheel so it actually looks like a bike turning. I have also discovered I love him with his weapon mounted on the left arm in that hole reserved for the weapon in vehicle mode :BOT:

This.

A bunch of armada figures transformed in about the same number of steps, the point is that it looks great in bot mode and has great articulation

A Warrior class would be cool, but I don't realy need one when I have the Legion version. When they make a Warrior class version for him it's likely to be more show accurate in vehicle mode, but I prefer this one. Same thing with Springload. If they make a Warrior class for him, the robot mode will be much better, but I didn't like his vehicle mode in the show. The one-step vehicle mode looks awesome.

While Hasbro revealed their version of Power Surge Optimus during the investor meeting slides, they also sent some promotional toy images, which were found on Business Wire. At first, it seemed like the picture below was just a picture of that same Optimus toy, just not a 3D render. However, after closer inspection, this is actually a completely different toy using the same theme. This reveals a new product which is a redeco/retool of the Warrior Optimus toy decked out in Power Surge colours (quite reminiscent of Thunderclash) with some clear blue swords. You can see this new picture below and compare it to the other version of Power Surge Prime.
