Friend of the site and Toy reviewer at large, Chuckdawg1999, has posted up a new video showing off the most recent, and final, wave of Transformers The Last Knight One Step Changers! The assortment, consisting of Scorn, Drift, and Cogman, had started to hit store shelves quite a while ago, but thanks to the notoriously infrequent distribution of the TLK toys, they're still quite hard to come by! Check out his review, and his opening thoughts, down below!

chuckdawg1999 wrote:These might be the best one step changers of the The Last Knight line. Scorn is surprisingly involved, Drift was a surprise, and Cogman can Die Another Day. These make great desk toys and hopefully you'll be able to find them.

I hope that's not the only Cogman that will show up at my retailers. My closest Walmart is STILL stuck on wave 1! Unbelievable.

Thanks to a post over on Ozformers, we have confirmation that the Transformers The Last Knight Voyager Class Nitro and Scorn have been found in Australia! After being spotted at Walmart in the US just a little while ago, these hotly anticipated figures have popped up in a Target in Perth! Unfortunately, we don't have a picture of the figures on the shelves or of a receipt, but it does provide some hope to Australian collectors that these figures are starting to appear at retail!

I snagged voyager Nitro and Scorn in the good old OH today. Still no eyes on Sqweeks or Cogman. They got enough Slash and Grimlocks to make a new Jurassic Park flick though.

So... I think I got the last Nitro @ $29.99. But seriously... now they're jacked up to over $100 through 3rd party sellers??? Can people seriously just "buy" them from Amazon and then warehouse them for re-sell THROUGH amazon... That shit makes it WAY TOO EASY for scalpers.... and the way Distribution has been (at least in) California... it really makes the Hunt(ing) depressing.

Yeah, they had that problem with 25th anniversary Unicron. Amazon released that one in waves and it kind of helped with the scalping but it's still awful. I don't order 'formers through Amazon if I can help it, but that was an exclusive. I try to buy local, but if not I use BBTS, Robot Kingdom, or some of the other estores that are actually good to us fans. Too many insecticons in the market places, no what I'm sayin?

Yeah... BBTS is usually my go to; but I hate they're making us buy cases now. I can't blame them... But it sucks. Also their Scorn/Nitro set has been sold out for months. Feels like they're getting them slow? (What the hell Hasbro?!).

As much as I'm on the fence with Dragonstorm.... with BBTS forcing you to buy either a leader Megs or Optimus with him.... bleh.

I had already picked up Megs. I didn't know they were gonna bundle Draggie with him or I woulda waited and got them together. Now I gotta try to find Draggie in retail. I ain't gonna pay for a Leader Prime when I got a Calibur already. I just... man, I just can't stand that truck pack and lack of paint on Leader Prime! I wouldn't even wanna GIVE him away, and I usually do a Toys For Tots donation every year. I mean, at least a lump of coal can keep ya warm!

but the truck pack's been there since AOE, since they're basically off of the same mold(albeit maybe with the odd aesthetic changes)

It's a Takara product, made by Takara for the Japanese market, created independently from Hasbro.

So unless they make some Platinum Edition thing, it won't come over. It's the same thing with the ROTF Leader Optimus update, Buster Optimus Prime. There was never an American version.

It all come down to weird business semantics and shenanigans only businessmen and lawyers can comprehend.

Ah... Speaking of Takara... I'd be a little miffed if I was living in Japan and picked up the "Hasbro" figures only to have the Movie Best ones magically showing up later in the year.... THOSE were the ones I was expecting from Takara all along. But since they'd released Hasbro's I'd figured they may not have come... going to miss some leader Megs sales there =(

While these were available in multitude of global markets already, the US had not gotten any of these wave 3 One Steps, called Cyber Fire Turbo Changers, from Transformers: the Last Knight. this wave includes Drift, Cogman and Scorn, which was reviewed as one of the best one steps to ever come out. This final wave was found at Wallgreens by fellow Seibertronian bounti76.

I'm bummed the Dragonstorm pre-orders require you to pair him with eiter Megs or Prime. I don't want Prime and I have Megs. Well, just gonna have to wait and pray I get him in a single release, much like Cogman and Bee

Stop your whining, young lad.

The Wallgreens' equivalent in Québec, Winners, is Transformers bare for months. All they had for robots are a couple of Power Rangers Super Charge zords with their "power batteries" stolen from their packagings. #-o

Found nitro at Walmart today. Picked him up, still one left. Scorn was gone and it appears my Walmart completely skipped over the wave 2 deluxes.

Nitro is pretty great, my second favorite from this line behind voyager megatron. My only complaint with him is one of his wing/engines pops off every single time no matter how carefully I try to transform him and his right arm doesn't bend a full 90 degrees but minor issues I can live with.

I've seen the first-run Bumblebee shelfwarming at my local Targets. Not exactly surprising, considering that Hasbro decided to be idiots and re-use the AoE mold. Ugh. If they were going to re-use an existing tooling for Bee they should have used the DotM one since he went back to his proper design (the one that doesn't make the toy designers want to kill the art department) for TLK.

Said Targets also have lots of the big Turbo Changer Dragonstorm on the shelves. Which is quite possibly getting in the way of getting in new TR Leader-class figures because the boxes spill over into that shelfspace.

Winners is the Quebec equivalent of TJMaxx. The Quebec equivalent of Walgreens is Jean Coutu which has some transformers toys sometimes (like Walgreens).

OOps.
It's pretty rare to see Transformers there but lately, I saw some. Transformers movie toys that were 33% MORE expensive than normal retail... but on sale at 33% OFF!
WHAT A DEAL!

On a side note, I remember skipping on a 20$ Battle Blades Bumblebee at a Jean Coutu some years ago. :HEADHURTS:

Wow, what a deal!

Anyways, as you can see in the pic we posted, that 33% mark up is the same at walgreens too. Those 1 steps are $12.99 there, thats $15.83 before taxes. Sounds like Jean Coutu.

When I saw that stupid display, with sales labels bringing the toys back down at they regular, normal prices, I facepalmed so hard I almost knocked myself unconscious in the aisles.
I wonder if there is some law preventing that kind of shenanigans? :-?
The labellings, I mean, not the dangerous facepalming.

An update from my viewers, pretty much all of them that have One-Step Scorn tell me the back part of the tail pops off. It looks like whatever friction tabs were supposed to hold it in place were shaved down a bit too far.

I just wanted to get get something out of my chest for this movie line. Now I dont like to be overly negative (nor overly positive) but I really feel someone fucked up with The Last Knight toyline and how its being distributed. I have always been under the impression that if toys arent out, its there retailer's fault. But every when every single retailer doesnt have product out, it makes me look at the supplier and thats where things make no damn sense. The toys should be out for the film, right?! And yet the film has come and gone and this line still hasnt been fully released at retail. Anything past wave 1 has been scarce in the US (from what I read here), the leaders just started being found easily recently, but no sign of Dragonstorm. Plus no sign of that deluxe Walmart exclusive Hot Rod. We know that the toy has been finished for a while now, and china got him. So, with that being the case, where the fuck is the hold up?! Does Walmart not want this guy from hasbro yet? Or do they have him and are sitting on him? None of those make any sense but neither does him not being released. Since he has been made and boxed, there are loads of em stocked somewhere at some point on the supply chain instead of being at the end of it, up on the shelves. And this seems to be the case for the rest of the line which has yet to see saturation. I just find this whole undertaking bonkers. I dont know who to blame exactly, but for your most profitable toyline, there have been some major mistakes made across the board.

I have to agree at least a little, I think this is the worst I've seen a Transformers toyline become available. Literally all I see at every store is Slash and Berserker and I saw wave 2 deluxes once. Voyagers and leaders have been better but I still hardly see voyager Megatron and Hound - way too many Grimlocks. I caught Bumbebee on Amazon for $20, thank god - I'm getting tired of checking store after store every week. I'm still holding out hope for Hot Rod since he's an exclusive but I've essentially given up on Cogman. I don't think the raised prices have helped anything either.

I miss when the movie lines would make toys out of random cars in the movies. I was really hoping the Age of Extinction lineup would make a Transformers out of T. J. Miller's character's Mini Cooper.

Here's my vision of what the mainline TLK toyline would be like:

Deluxe:

-Wave 1: Bumblebee (new mold & hammer), Barricade, Drift, Berserker
-Wave 2: Sqweeks, Mohawk, Hot Rod, Cogman
-Wave 3: Daytrader, Dreadbot, Crosshairs, and Steelbane

Voyager:

Wave 1: Optimus Prime, Grimlock (w/retooled head like the Armor Change version)
Wave 2: Megatron, Hound
Wave 3: Onslaught, Nitro Zeus

Leader Class:

Wave 1: Optimus Prime (same as Calibur retool but with silver paint replacing chrome), Megatron
Wave 2: Dragonstorm

The RED FLAG for me... is that wave 2 has been on Hasbro Toy Shop FOR MONTHS. They NEVER get things "fresh and new" we had the same issue with blitzwing and tankor. They're just NOW hitting saturation on the west coast (or it's the rare stray case).

I don't know if retailers were tucking their tails and waiting for FORCE FRIDAY to blow over.... I don't know if we'll suddenly see a wealth of transformers for November/December.

At first I blamed it on "back to school"... for places like Target... but that came and went too.

All I have to say... if the Movie line catches heat for "not selling well" again... it's not because the fans aren't trying to find them....

They at least learned their lesson and didn't clog up the transformer shelves with all that weird stuff from AoE.

I also have a hard time believe it's a Hasbro thing... Since again, Force Friday pushed... and I still see (some) new Marvel figures....

I can see Target dropping the ball because they stock all their deluxe/voyagers/leaders by the same DCPI codes (so the associates/stores?) can't actually tell the difference from a stock perspective. That always bothered me when I was a sales associate (though I'd also rotate stock versus letting it rot too).

Yeah it's weird I never heard of it and thought Megatron would be the last of that sub-line. The listing does have official pics fyi. Any idea if WalMart got the legion 2-packs in? I doubt it if they still haven't stocked regular Hot-Rod.

I know, I don't remember ever hearing about Sqweeks. Hopefully, stores pick it up.

Well...that answers that...but hopefully we'll get a pic or even video review of Allspark Tech Sqweeks coming soon, so we can check if it's worth getting ourselves

As for shoddy distribution

the UK's still stuck with Wave 1 of the Tiny Turbo Changers, so no idea when Wave 2'll ever arrive? to get Sqweeks, btw...Ebay ect don't have Tiny Turbo Changer Sqweeks either! even though they have the other Wave 2 figs, nor does the UK yet have Deluxe Cogman or Nitro Zeus(still waiting for those guys too & YES!! online retailers prob have those in...i know Kapow did/does or will) but the point is that they haven't yet adorned the bricks and mortar store shelves here in the UK. I mean ok! when it comes to transformers bricks and mortar distribution as a whole...the UK's always had a bad reputation in that department.

Ok, so I found a Barricade tonight and snagged him since I'm impatiently waiting for wave 3 Bumblebee and MPM Optimus to get here - this is my biggest Transformers purchase regret in years. I don't know if this is a widespread issue with him but my copy's joints are ridiculously floppy to the point he can barely stand up and his chest doesn't even hold down well. The worst part is I really like how his robot mode looks in general (though I'd prefer the WAY cooler head design he actually had in the movie, I'd be tempted to tighten the joints myself in that case) but if he can't even stand on my shelf there's no point in having him. Sorry to all those that liked and recommended him but I'm returning him to Target tomorrow. What a mess.

You may remember we covered this from Toy Fair 2017 back in February that Sqweeks was going to be in the AllSpark Tech Assortment. Here is the description as a refresher for those that need it.
