This time, it's true! There is indeed a Mandarin Chinese video review of Leader class Megatron from the upcoming Transformers: The Last Knight movies, shot by the same user whose images were reported here, and the source of the mask gimmick GIF too. The video, however, is on Chinese sharing site Miaopai, and cannot be embedded - you can check it out for yourselves here!

i never know primus has 4 modes...

Planet mode, Robot mode, 'I've started to transform and got lazy so I stopped' mode, and my favourite, 'Faceplant' mode.

I hear that! Might just try and get that one.

The colours on Primus are kinda ugly!

Nice figure for leader megatron I may buy leader over voyager figure I skipped past articulation wast of my time in video all transformer figures move same different body's different series it's redundant and repetitive in all transformers gijoe reviews to show articlautiok of figure if it's third party figure I can see and make expection maybe watch articulation on transformers figure

Articulation can differ quite a bit, actually. Whether it's a swivel or a balljoint, whether there's articulation in the feet and wrists or not; and then with Legions and Legends it can go from excellent like CW Shockwave to almost non-existent. Besides, it's important to show off the articulation to confirm the extent of it for a potential buyer - I want to know how far a figure can move its arms out, how stiff the ratchets are and whether or not it can pull off certain stances. I know this is apparently very important to you since you say it about every review, but I can assure you there are very good reasons the articulation is shown off.

From this review (knowing Chinese does come in handy!), I got that although Hasbro is trying harder this time (unlike AOE Prime), this figure is still flawed. He only has 1 hollow arm, but the way it bends leaves us with yet another under-arm-fusion-cannon Megatron. The silver wash looks faint and just passable. The backpack exists but is not blatant. The skirt plates are a soft rubbery plastic and does prevent him from the full Van Damme. The transformation is somewhat complex and harkens back to ROTF Jetfire. The robot parts are MUCH better integrated than the ol' bot-underneath-a-jet, but the reviewer said that his chest armor doesn't seem to have a proper locking point. Bummer.

At first glance, I anticipated the leader Megs to be superior to the voyager due to its presence, its gimmicks/accessories (changing face plate and flame effect parts FTW) and detailing. But now, the voyager stands as the better-engineered figure. It may not match the leader in terms of accessories (the size and the pin in the middle of the fusion cannon really bug me), but its engineering negates many problems which the leader has while coming across as fresh and intuitive. However, the leader still looks to be a fun figure with a good deal of play value!

Yeah again there seems to be no bad Megatron figure so far in this line no matter what the size (and even that retooled Deluxe isn't bad if not quite for me). I went for the Voyager because of the cheaper price and the better scale to my other figures (including Voyager Prime) and I'm very happy with my choice and he looks great on my shelf (and on my desk... he's already become one of my most transformed figures in years especially considering his size and complexity compared to my usual desk-formers). Leader Megatron may have a couple flaws but he has some great things going for him too including that neat face changing gimmick the Voyager does not have. I think they all have their pros and cons but all are great so no matter which version you buy for your personal collection you should be pretty satisfied with him. :)

This guy looks GORGEOUS! MAN! He even has wrist swivels! I thought he didn't! That makes him SO much better! :D And that face mask gimmick tho! DANG!

So it looks like Leader Megs has swivels in the wrists to allow for somewhat "normal" arm movement.

The more I see the movie toys, the more bummed I am that Bee doesn't get his hammer. I am loving his hammer.

And I really can't wait to see new toys. All the stores around here still have wave 1 and there are tons of guys I need to get in wave 3. Wave 2 is decent and does include almost every Megatron I plan to get (which is all but one)

After a California sighting, as seen here, we also have a Canberra, Australia, reporting from fellow Seibertronian Rainmaker of the Toys'R'Us exclusive Mission to Cybertron legion 2-packs, featuring Optimus Prime and Grimlock, and Bumblebee and Megatron!

Check out the photo proof below, and head to our Sightings section to find out if more have been found in your area. Happy Hunting!

Sighted both MtC Legion 2-packs at a Toys R Us in Canberra. For some odd reason they're $30, making each legion cost $15. Megatron released before the original Megatron.

I don't know if it's the same for everyone but my mission glyph for the Bumblebee VS Megatron 2-Pack is Galvatron

Also Bumblebee is disappointing, his top half windows are painted and has the extra details but his legs don't have the extra details or paint on the windows.

A new Mission to Cybertron Transformers: The Last Knight toys sighting comes from a Singaporean Toys'R'Us, and Instagram user jesterhatsjhund, featuring a $99.99 SGD (72 USD) two-pack evolution-esque set of Deluxe Optimus Primes: the Dark of the Moon mold and the 2007 Protoform mold! Check it out below, and help us keep our Sightings section up to date with new figures!

It turns out our fellow Podcaster Scotty P was right when saying that his initial impression of Transformers: The Last Knight Deluxe Hot Rod was seeing it as mostly a new mold. In hand images of this toy have been uploaded to Transformers Never Die fan site by Blackai, covering the toy's many angles and, more importantly, includes images next to Lockdown. It is here that we see that this toy is more of an inspiration from the Lockdown mold, using its design as a base and building from it like Titans Return Chromedome did with Combiner Wars Dead End, rather than a more common retool. Wha sells this is the upscaled nature of this toy. In both modes, this toy is larger than the Lockdown mold, at least from what the pictures show. While the transformation remains very similar to Lockdown's there is a new trick for the arms. In terms of parts and scale, this is very much a new and distinctive toy, offering a unique build for Hot Rod, while still having a familiar car mode and transformation.

For those unaware, this is a Walmart Exclusive in the US (and presumably in other countries where Walmart operates).

$72 for two deluxes? I dunno about protoform but deluxe DOTM OP is NOT worth $36 in any universe I live in. Even at half that price it'd be a ripoff. I hope it's just local market forces driving the price and it'll be much cheaper if/when it winds up in other locales, because holy smokes.

Definitely going to have to pick this up. It's a massive retool, in all the good ways.

I wonder if they'll give us a traditional Hot Rod deco later down the road.

Some pretty impressive retooling going on here... reminds me a bit of Titans Return. Hasbro have upped their game in the mold re-use area and they've no intentions of going back.
Re: Video Review for Transformers: The Last Knight Leader class Megatron (1887735)

Huh the only things that show it's a retool is the white/silver neck piece, the lower legs and feet and presumably the Transformation.

While it's a shame the chest is not raised and the feet are Lockdown's this Hot rod seems to be a good figure for him.

I'd have liked that Proto-form Optimus in the Cybertron (Beast) Optimus Prime Colours - or even Optimus Primal colours he's always reminded me of that toy & toys.

The Silver-gray is kinda plain looking - I need to see what it looks like next to the blue Grey Original - not something I'm going to be chasing though with much enthusiasm.

Optimus seems very similar to the original mould - I like the gun though.

Damn that Hot Rod is so very nice and being bigger than Lockdown is a big surprise too. A very likely purchase from me! I need to know which UK store will have him.

ALso it's a bit odd that on the box Bumblebee is the main focus and pushing Hot Rod off the edge. As if Bee doesn't have enough attention already. :P

I still wish weapon packs were a thing. Just a whole bunch of random and awesome guns, swords, shields and such with 5mm posts. Easily equip weaponless figures without depriving others of theirs.

Id kill for a weapon pack of those little pistol rifles that come with Titan Return Blurr, Chromedome and their repaints since it's the perfect standard troop firearm.

More of a reason for me to bye multiple Getaways as Autotroopers.

I mean, Lockdown to Hot Rod seems about as similar a change as Titan class Metroplex to Titan class Fortress Maximus was.

A better comparison would be CW Skydive into Air Raid, or any other major CW retool for that matter. The only difference is that it's not pre-planned and the retool ends being taller thanks to longer body parts.

More news from that same Weibo post as we have some new stuff about the toyline for The Last Knight as well! In this case, the packaging for the Toys R Us-exclusive Mission to Cybertron Infernocus figure. A redeco and rather major retool of Beast Hunter Abominus, we see here that the packaging proudly displays Infernocus in his combined form along with the tiny little Quintessa figure on the side. Take a look and tell us what you think in the forums!

Hasbro stock photography has a penchant for being saturated and lighting-altered. I was never expecting they toys to look like that.
