We have some cool news for all you Transformers Power of the Primes fans. Fellow Seibertronian Bacem has informed us that Chefatron has now released video reviews for the deluxe Monsterbots that come out in wave 3 of Power of the Primes. They are Sinnertwin, Cutthroat and Blot. He then also reviews the combined Abominus. This means that the toys are out in the Philippines, but from previous experience there is usually about two months in between toys showing up there and being found in the US. Just letting you know in case some of you are going to run to a local store looking for them tomorrow. Wave 3 is scheduled to be on the shelves in the summer (around June). But until then, you can check out these reviews to see if completing Abominus is worthwhile. Also, just to reiterate for those who might be waiting for a box set, Takara will be releasing the exact same toys in the same way.

Enjoy the reviews!

I never get when people say they are thankful when characters have their original names or get upset when a characters name has to change due to legal reasons or the name being inappropriate for modern day standards. It’s your toy once you buy him you can call him anything you want. Who’s stopping you?

Now I see how Blot is retooled from Rippersnapper. Not just in parts but how the head and everything folds to the back. Not complaining at all I love him but his transformation from
Ogre to bot was baffudling me

Or even just a motor home altmode, period.

Personally I'd want to see a bus, either a yellow schoolbus or a public transport modern bus design.

I'm hoping that tampo has been fixed too, but it's probably going to be a while yet before we get solid confirmation one way or the other, honestly.

I've seen Jazz in stores recently, but I couldn't see where the tampo on him since his arms are packaged with the car kibble side facing the cardback away from sight, hiding that side behind the robot mode sides of his arm.

I doubt it'll have been "fixed". Not that it should be changed, really, it's such a minor detail and honestly the joke is pretty harmless. So Jazz is a Republican, so what? Perhaps he just respects people's right to free speech. Besides, he's obviously keeping it discreet in the form of a tiny Cybertronian decal on his door rather than pushing it in people's faces. Not like it's a gigantic logo slapped on his hood.

The phrase has taken on a much more offensive meaning than what it was original intended for, so its presence on this toy, regardless of it being written in non-English letters, bothers people.

I mean, would you still feel that it was harmless if it had been something like the F-bomb or a derogatory insult word that had instead been written in Cybertronian letters?

You can get a look from the side of the bubble pack (the side that isn't textured, that is). You can't make out exactly what the lettering is, though, but you can see if the tampograph is the same, e.g., a black square with an Autobot insignia and four tiny "letters" below it. Honestly, I don't think we're gonna know what's what until someone is brave enough to buy a Wave 3 Jazz and open it up.

Exactly. The phrase has taken on a life of it's own and has become a kind of "catch all" slur of sorts the alt-right uses to attack practically anyone else. It can't be treated as a "harmless" political campaign slogan anymore.

Here's a radical idea for all of you who bought a MAGA Jazz but find the thing reprehensible: grab a tiny bit of white paint and gently apply over the tiny area this tampo occupies. It's not like this mess is Hasbro's fault so people don't need to not buy Jazz to 'make some sort of statement' as they themselves explained what happened. Just remove it from the toy yourself.

There. Your Jazz is now DRUMPF-free and we can move on without spending 15 pages over this all over again.

Would make more sense to use black paint or just a permanent Sharpie. It's a black square with white lettering below a white Autobot logo. And yes, it would be easy to do such, but I'd support Hasbro making this correction by buying another Jazz figure that doesn't need to be modified as such.

Okay, so I don't really care much about "to MAGA or not to MAGA", but I am a big fan of irony.

Anyone else find it funny that a reasonable portion of fans are actually hoping for Hasbro to include 1 less paint app?

Prima in particular is the biggest offense because not only it's Prima, you know, the guy who started the very concept which would evolve into the Thirteen Primes but his Decoy Armor being Waverider mean if he doesn't get released then the Autobot Pretenders will be missing a core member.

It's a shame that those figures themselves have almost nothing to do with the actual 13 besides packaging name art and the vague symbol in their core forms.

This was an awesome way to bring the Pretenders back in their new revamped modern figures that homage their roots well.

This was also an extremely lame way to give most of the 13 their first figures that have just about have nothing to homage them.

Awesome? How is making them smaller and adding NO articulation (something virtually every modern update of a G1 character has enjoyed) awesome?

They could have kept them as deluxes, split the shell to fold open around the waist, add articulation, and upscale the Primes so they looked like actual robots instead of transforming boxes.

Hasbro dropped the ball on Pretenders.

I too wished we would have seen the Thirteen with their own mold as Deluxe/Voyager/Leaders but I suppose this is too much for Hasbro to design.

Hasbro dropped the ball on Pretenders.

Or even kept them the same size and just based the Prime Armor ebgineering off Repugnus, who at least has movable legs.

Honestly, i dont think the general market would have supported Deluxe Class Pretenders as the main "thing". Even the Clones are more costly than the DLX pricepoint, and ypu are talking aboyt a comperable size robot and a larger hunk of armor, so I have to agree that the size the Pretenders are is ptobably for the best, not to mention the relative scale they are close to human size for sone Deluxes and Voyagers.but I fully agree they are terribly, horribly exevuted.

Who, Repygnus? Yes. But the Armor concept is the same. Only, instead of being stretched out, you balled the Titn Master up and shoved them into Repugnus chest. It opened up the hips though so the legs could be a single, seperate piece. No reason the Prime Masters couldnt have done the same thing, and designed the chest plate to hinge at the belt instead of the knees. For added effect, you coukd even have left a hole in the bsck of the armor for the matrix plate to stick through, so that instead of attaching te Prime Master to the top of the armor for Gun mode, the Prime master was already integrated.

But what do I know?

Yes Wave 4 is the final wave. Novastar is the only new deluxe. No new Leader Class figure. Unknown on the Voyager, Legend and Prime Master classes yet, but doubtful there too.
