That was an awesome review! Man, this figure is great! You were right about the details sort of getting lost but then I saw them better in your review. And the door wings and where they sit is great and I love the lack of kibble anywhere. the die cast is awesome too.

UberSmaug wrote:While I do think this looks fantastic the price just seems outrageous. If I'm seeing this correctly $159.99 in Singapore translated to roughly $115 US plus tax. I can't be the only one that thinks that is just crazy. This guy look to be to scaled with other MP cars like Tracks, Prowl, and Sideswipe. I figured this was going to be somewhere around $80 which still seems overpriced to be honest, But +100 is steeeeeeep. Would that also put MPM-04 pushing $200!!!!. Is there a Plastic shortage I don't know about or are Takara/Hasbro just taking us for a ride.

To add on to what the others have said, the prices of TF figures in Singapore are horrendously inflated. Deluxes are SGD34.99 and Voyagers are SGD59.99...

I recommend watching this with the sound off. That guy's voice is annoying. I still can't justify the price, so hopefully Wei Jiang or somebody will release one with the mentioned annoyances fixed.

Come on, he was just fine... appart from the very hairy hands that were just a tad distracting.

Anyway, I'll wait for it to come out locally. Let's hope it will be the same as the Classic MP-Bee. Horrendous price at first, then sale/clearance while there's LOT of stock for a long time.

That was a very great review! And to see the roof hiding feature in action finally gave me the desire to buy this MP... Eventually.

Keep up the good work, manly, manly man!

Not a fan of this way of thinking. Waiting for it to go on sale and clearance is insulting.

I wasn't very keen on this but i'm starting to like it more and more. I'll keep an eye on HLJ. They're currently sold out of their preorders unfortunately.

No. Just..... No. There is a whole list of reasons to set this post of yours on fire, but let's just leave it at not paying full price for an over priced item, and waiting for a sale is smart economics.

It's a two edged sword really. Often, I DID get burned. Meaning waiting for a sale was NOT the way to go because the figure went into the store like a droplet of water on a hot pan. But too many times, I buy a figure too early only to see a SWARM of them on clearance some weeks or months later.

So, my attitude toward that MP-Movie-Bee is based on the Classic MP-Bee I saw in store. First, it's Bee so you can bet your ass that it WILL be available aplenty. Second, the Classic MP^-Bee was at a whopping 120$CAN as the initial price. Only to go down quickly to 99$CAN and finally ending at 68$CAN. (Not counting getting my Hasbro version at 34$CAN total due to some shenanigan after paying 130$CAN for my Takara).

So, I'm pretty confident that I will NOT miss out on MP-Movie-Bee and I'll be able to eventually get him for around 80$CAN total. [-(

Doesn't matter. They find ways to save money for their business, I will find ways to save money for me. Looking at it in a general sense on both sides.

It actually does matter as you've said something wildly out of context and inaccurate so there's that.

Nope. We are talking about buying it on sale, which is what I will do. And I will do so because Hasbro as a business saves money oing certain things, like redecos ad retools I dont care for. So I will save money every chance I get as well.

If you think something is urelated, please report a post instead of being judge and jury on what someone says.

I'm buying this guy full price as soon as I can. This is a great figure and as far as I can see, it is completely worth the $80 price they are asking.

Cool I'll report it so as it is unrelated to what the discussion is about which it most certainly is. Nobody is being judge nor jury that's another incorrect statement.

Look, we could go around and around on this, but never get anywhere. We all make excuses and justifications for the figures we like and buy. As a 3rd party collector, I do it even more than most. It's okay. It's okay to think something is worth its sticker price, and it's okay to think it's not.

What isn't okay, is saying waiting to find a sale or clearance price is insulting. It's one of the most foolish things I've ever read on these boards.

Saving money is ALWAYS smart.

Same here. I want to at least try and find it in store first. Plus, I'm looking a bit rn on Battle Hornet, but this guy is so pretty.

As I said it's the fact it was thought about and what the individual intended to do. Fair play if you want to save money but don't brag about being that person that says that stuff which is insulting to the fans who really want it. It's certainly worth the price it is being offered and more in my opinion. If everyone had that mentality hasbro would cut costs and that's certainly not good.

Agreed. that is the one thing he is missing.

But at his size, I may be able to give him the Forge of Solus Prime that came with Beast Hunters Ultra Magnus, and it may be the perfect size

That sounds good it'd scale well too. This bumblebee looks wonderful and it's the first time I'm excited to get a beer figure. The new deluxe looks great and I loved the g1 mp figure too.

Gee wiz! Lots of reports coming out of here. Everyone OK? Everything being discussed seems pertinent to the topic to me.

When a retail item goes on sale, the only one who loses money is the retailer, and most often they don't lose that much. Hasbro always makes their money. Always.

Anyway. Carry on folks! :D

Long may it continue too. I know barricade is next so I'm curious if after him they might stick with cars. For some reason I think when they do barricade they might skip jazz and go to sideswipe. Just get that feeling that he'd be lower on the list after sideswipe and soundwave. I would absolutely love an mpm Ironhide.

You and me both. How awesome would it be to have the original Autobot cast in MP form? Jazz is one I'd really like, but I cannot wait for a movie MP Sideswipe too. He is one of my favorite movie characters. And we really need the Bonecrusher and Blackout. The movie 1 designs were (mostly) really good and they deserve this treatment.

Agreed on all points there. I would really like an mpm megatron too. Surely with the wizardry they can clearly do it's time for movie 1 Megatron to get some love. I know he's not everyone's favourite design but it would be great to have him opposite Prime and I did love Hugo Weaving as that iteration of Megatron.

If we can get the original 84 cast of bots in masterpiece, I'm sure we can get the original 11 or 12 from the movie. And I think you're right: they definitely can do a good megatron now. They have learned the magic, and MP-36 and these 2 movie MP's so far appear to be proving that point.

and I agree: I did like Hugo Weaving as his voice. It sounded deep and menacing, more so than Welker. But they each did good with their Megatron voices for a live action movie: one darker and menacing, another a bit more eccentric and hamlin-styled

The fact that there is far less characters in the Movies do help.

Also, based on this incredible MP Bee, I do wonder the mind-blowing improvements the INCREDIBLE ROTF (HFTD) Human Alliance Jazz.

One thing for sure, I want the back kibble to disappear like they did for Bee.
That alone, would be incredible.

and I agree: I did like Hugo Weaving as his voice. It sounded deep and menacing, more so than Welker. But they each did good with their Megatron voices for a live action movie: one darker and menacing, another a bit more eccentric and hamlin-styled

I liked Weaving's voice in the first yeah but I also like how Welker has adapted his voice when playing Galvatron and TLK Megs to sound much more fitting to the movieverse Megatron too. When I heard Welker use his regular G1 Megs voice in the movieverse video games it didn't work for me at all but when voicing Megatron in the moves he's done a much scarier voice for it and I loved the close up scenes of TLK Megatron speaking. I forget how much Cullen's Prime voice has changed since G1 (to be fair I don't watch much of the cartoon cos I never liked it much but I was watching clips of the animated movie and his G1 voice sound younger and cleaner back then but more gruff, seasoned and wise for movie Prime, whether that's intentionally done or just cos Cullen is older I dunno).

I'm babbling.

If all you guys need is an MPM of a Hugo Weaving Megatron, then forget the first film and go straight to an MPM of the DOTM version, We never got one of that size, it would be epic!!!!!!!

I guess... if only cos it exists purely as a Voyager with no MP scale one. But I'd still like first or second film too.

Don't count on finding this at store.

I stopped into my local TRU today, and asked about MPM Bee, and if they knew when he would be coming in. The didn't, but offered to put my name on a list to be called/texted when he arrives.

A list that already had over fifty names on it.

Anyway, I gave up on thar, and paid the extra 20 bones and ordered him from Chosen Prime (along with Badecube Brawny for free shipping). Bee will be here next week.

Straight from Chevrolet Japan's company newsletter, we have an interview with Yuya Onishi, a member of the Takara Transformers product team and the lead designer behind MPM Bumblebee! The original text can be found here, and a mechanical translation courtesy of Tformers is transcripted below, so check it out and let us know what you think in the Energon Pub!

Before the release of "Transformers / Last Knight King" on August 4th, as for Camaro likes the place where Bumblebee's career is anxious. And better news before the new release. Transformers masterpiece "MPM - 3 Bumblebee" commemorating the 10th anniversary of the movie will be released from TakaraTomy on July 15th.

This MPM - 3, the world 's topic with the amazingness of making it. As I witnessed the appearance of the standing Bumblebee, I do not think that this is assembled with the parts built into the Camaro scale model.

"This January, when real items were announced in Hong Kong in the world premiere, it was a pleasure from the fans around the world that I was happy." Transformers designer Hiroya Onishi . In the United States, Hasbro Inc., a toy maker based in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, holds a license for Transformers. In that connection, Mr. Onishi has visited Hasbro headquarters in the US East Coast several times. When entering the United States, passport control declared "Transformers designer" about occupation, and was also deeply impressed by the officer. It is not uncommon to be asked for a sign when participating in an event held in the United States. Even in Hong Kong, again. Transformers designers are very popular worldwide.

"To faithfully reproduce the image in the play is a mast, it is a masterpiece movie that requires a high degree of completeness as a transformer toy, so I bothered as much as I could breath, and the overseas fans got a weight There was a strong desire to be sensitive to marketing and to have a strong sense of weight. It was severe in terms of cost but this time we adopt die cast parts everywhere to give weight And I made the deformation difficulty degree a setting of 8 years old up.When I touched the transformer toy for the first time, I designed it so that you can enjoy the deformation easily by getting used. "... It will fit properly in the Camaro form It is terrible because it is. If you ask Mr. Onishi, he sometimes aimed for a car designer. "Actually, our company President Toyama was riding in Camaro's Transformers specification limited car released in 2010, and I have also tried it.It is very prominent in Bumblebee color, but also unique to the cockpit There is a view of the world, driving is fun "

The MPM-3, manufacturer's recommended retail price setting is 10,000 yen (tax excluded). It is a one-make product to be released under the TAKARATOMY brand logo as a universal specification, but although it had significant cost constraints, from the quality it can be said that it is reasonable. Bumblebee is a dream function carried by Camaro. That dream was very realistically reproduced and molded. It is wonderful that Mr. Onishi who likes cars designed it by driving Camaro. Whenever a new work of a movie transformer is made public, "Bamblebee is Speaking of Camaro", it is no longer promised. Mr. Onishi keeps his promise as a designer.

Also, at the dealer caravan event "Chevrolet Camaro Preview Tour 2017", the Transformers Specification (5th generation) Camaro owned by Takara Tomy and the Bumblebee statue exceeding 2 m in height are also on display. The future will be Chevrolet North Osaka (Minoh City, Osaka Prefecture) on June 24 and 25, Chevrolet Kasugai (Aichi Prefecture Kasugai City) on July 8th and 9th, Chevrolet Tokyo on August 19th and 20th (Tokyo Metropolitan Port Ward) and a caravan. Please check the power and precision of Bumblebee, and the profound charm of Chevrolet Camaro on this occasion.

Yuya Onishi (Oyunshi Yuya) Born in Higashi Osaka city in 1984, "City of Manufacturing". He is in charge of research and development of next-generation devices at the Panasonic Group. Joined Takara Tomy in 2011. In charge of planning and development of transformers overseas with mechanical engineering, car design / product design as backbone. Coauthored book "Monodzukuri 2.0 Makers' Movement in Japan" (Kadokawa Shoten).

On the right side of the photo, the vehicle mode of "TLK-01 Bumblebee" (2,800 yen / tax not included) with the motif of "Bumblebee of Transformers Last Knight" published on August 4. The left is "Vehicle mode of" MPM - 3 Bumblebee "(released on July 15, ¥ 10,000 / tax). Furthermore, the left is "MPM - 3 Bumblebee" robot mode, and "TLK - 01 Bumblebee" robot mode. Package is "MPM - 3 Bumblebee". On the left side, Mr. Onishi changed the vehicle mode from robot mode to robot mode in an instant while answering the interview that day Takara Tomi customer consultation room tel. 0570-041031 (Weekday excluding weekends and holidays 10: 00 - 17: 00)

Nice, but I have concerns.

Don't leave us hanging and go on with a detailed review, please. [-(

Because these things MUST be addressed. Especially for the price of this figure.

Just watched Acter's review. This looks pretty interesting. If I didn't have the human alliance one, I would actually be very tempted by this one. If barricade is this level, I may have to put him on my list.
