We thank Nuclearxpotato for letting us know that there is a video review for Transformers Kingdom Wingfinger made by Tonton. This is a deluze figure from the third wave due on shelves in around 3 months from now. This is the final fossilizer mold we are getting for this line. It has a combiner head, different from the robot head, meant to be used in a combined mode with the previous two fossilizers. Let us know if you will be getting him.

When has something like that stopped a reviewer from complaining? I'm glad they're a thin bone being. The rest of the Fossilizers have added some much needed body-shape diversity.

Also I hadn't noticed until now that Wingfinger reuses the robot legs of Paleotrex.

If we're being anatomically correct, Wingfinger is actually female. As I understand it, females of the pterosaur species (or pteranodon, I forget which is the correct word) have noticeably smaller head crests than males, so really, she is a ninja.

The problem is that Hasbro said he was a he in their product bio but, that's only an issue if you stick to what they say ;)

It's not the thinness in robot mode that bugs me...I just can't figure out how Wingfinger can fly with those "wings!"

When the Earthrise line was launched, I confess that I was disappointed that they did not launch any Dinobot. But since the first Fossilizer was shown, I loved the concept. The fossils are directly linked to the origin of the Dinobots (in the episode SOS Dinobots, in the cave and in the museum) as to some characters from Beast Wars (who scan buried fossils), in addition to the fact that the Fossilizers are extremely creative, allowing for several different combinations and assemblies . It was a big hit by Hasbro, which went beyond the conventional and gave us something really new and interesting. ;)^

Tigatron and Waspinator scanned female beast modes too, yet they're both still male.

It's also a nice nod to the early days of paleonthology, when scientists barely knew what they were doing when rearranging the dino bones.

Although the field has made some advancement, any honest Paleontologist will admit they STILL today barely know what they are doing.

Greetings Seibertronians!
Once again, Prime VS Prime deliver with an early Kingdom video review!

This time, it is for Deluxe Class Scorponok from the classic Beast Wars series! Scorponok is part of Deluxe Wave 3 that will be hitting store shelves along with Fossilizer Wingfinger, a repack of Earthrise Wheeljack and Tracks!

He come with a look that closely resembles the original show but with a modern interpretation of it.

Are you planning to pick this guy up?
Let us know!

way too short for my liking and something just looks off about the robot head. Could see it being reused for seaclamp or ciccadon but doubt they could work combining into it.

I think after watching the review I'm leaning towards passing on this guy. He's mostly solid but I'm just not sold. Maybe if they retool him into sandstorm with the mutant head later on.

I wish there had been a core class comparison, since he's so short maybe he'd be a good opponent to rattrap

Pretty sure we’ve gotten several confirmations that this kid does NOT steal these, he’s partnered with Hasbro.

Not an agreement with Hasbro, but someone here recently (I apologize I cannot recall at the moment), pointed out a UK website that somehow does obtain toys quite early, and they have sent items to PvP to review before (he has credited them on his reviews), and this is how PvP gets several of them. Some of the more well known (infamous) early reviewers are obtaining questionable factory samples, based on their close proximity to where the toys are being made, but my guess is that PvP's family is financially secure, so he can afford to get the earliest sources and pay insane amounts to get them shipped to him in the UK as quickly as possible.

I mean most of us poor shlubs are living paycheck-to-paycheck so we have to budget our resources to get TF's when they come out, but of the several thousands of us, I'd imagine there are a few more well-off than others, so they get the reviews earlier. I'm not jealous, it gives me a good opportunity to look at something several months in advance.

Yeah he got others off In Demand Toys, like Selects Abominus and Volcanicus. I suspect Scorponok here is similar. An early review to build up hype.

Scorponok looks pretty good! I'm still cool with my original, despite being in inaccurate (to the show!) colors, but I would totally pick him up if I didn't.

I'm really only waiting to get bots I don't have yet, like Tigatron! I can't wait to see his voyager -- I'm expecting similar quality as we saw with Dinobot. I know not everyone loved the Kingdom Dinobot -- but he's a helluva lot more of what I wanted than the original toys were, despite their charms. Of course, I'm only referring to Dinobot in bot mode, since I have yet to transform him. ;)

Early releases are weeks, not months before they're on shelves. I've also heard from several sources that he and Ton Ton sell their samples for crazy amounts privately to recoup whatever costs they had. Between the views and the sales, they're doing ok. For the record, Hasbro will never send out figures this early to be reviewed. If they did there's a long list of reviewers who have larger audiences and have a closer relationship to Hasbro than PvP and Ton Ton.

Hasbro won't send figures out...but retailers do ;) which we've seen happen like how In Demand Toys were Shipping SS Overload out a month and a bit in advance of most other places last year. Or how they were mysteriously Shipping Abominus out the same time as pvp dropped a review on him.

Besides sometimes I do question whether someone has stolen from the factory or if Hasbro are being very sneaky and using it as a way to build hype for forthcoming figures, plus they don't have to worry about a reviewer not declaring they got it from hasbro as they can rely on the "thief" angle.

There are many examples of toys released in other countries months before they came out in the U.S. It happens often. Last Summer , In Demand got ER Skylynx and Scorponok months before many other places did.

Also for the record, go watch Emgo's review of Selects Black Roritchi. He literally reviewed it the SAME DAY it came up for pre-order on Hasbro Pulse, and he did Credit BBTS & Hasbro for sending him one early. Since he usually is not one of the super-early reviewers it was quite a surprise.

Just curious but how do we know to distinguish Male and female dinosaurs when the reproductive organs are bot preserved? No one knows what a trex penis looks like

Hmm. Scorponok looks good, but that height difference in bot mode is disappointing. I already pre-ordered him, and it's still the best looking version of this character so far, so I'm sticking with him, but I can't lie, not as excited as I was before.

Also looks like the main reason for it is because so much plastic went into his tail :BANG_HEAD:

Wingfinger, being a Pteranodon, isn't a dinosaur, but looking at the somewhat larger clade in Archosauria that includes both dinos and pterosaurs:

Basically, as far as I'm aware, the same way we determine a lot of other stuff about them: looking at the fossil evidence (bones, skin/feather impressions, etc.) and comparing to the same things in their closest living relatives (birds), their much more distant relatives that are still closer related than any other group aside from the aforementioned (crocodilians), and also compare to non-related living animals that are filling similar or the same niches today.

For "dead on" cartoon accuracy, there's always the MP line. For scorponok, is not "show accurate" to a T as much as all the other beast characters were. And that's fine because the line is constant.

This Scorpy is very smol, yes. But he's also BEEFY. Like a stronk manlet. The scroprion look creepy enough and that transformation is certainly creative. I'll be sure to pick him up when he'll come out.

Death doesn't judge the souls he reaps - that's for others to do. I just escort them to the courtroom so to speak :).

But no - I would not accept stolen merchandise. I didn't accuse PvP of stealing - I just marveled that he is getting so many of these new figures so early, and wondered how he does it. He seems awash with all the stuff that was only just announced/revealed at the Pulse event a couple weeks ago. These are figures that aren't supposed to be available until late this year at the earliest. That kind of early access seems highly unusual. Maybe they wanted him to do the reviews first because he has an accent, and thus makes it sound 'classier'...?

I always assumed these YouTubers get the stuff early because they're specifically sent it by the company. It's free advertising for them, if you think about it.
It does suck that the rest of us have to wait, but at the same time it also helps us decide if we want to get a figure or not. Seeing someone actually handle the figure, transform it, pose it, as opposed to just photos of it, is a win for us, IMO.

Last summer there was a big thing with him and TonTon and the source of their super-early previews. They were getting them from factory employees, who were stealing them - and then there was some kind of program they were running where you too might be able to become an insta-youtube celeb if you wanted by buying the figures early through them.

I absolutely despise it when reviewers constantly say tab this in "LIKE SO", this goes here "LIKE SO", flip this up "LIKE SO", "LIKE SO", "LIKE SO". Irritates the piss out of me JUST LIKE SO!

I also can't stand it when everybody calls extra parts "kibble".

KIBBLE:
ground meal shaped into pellets, especially for pet food.

Who's the jackass that started calling it kibble anyway? 8-}

I hit 10 stores today just to get out of the house. 7 Walmarts & 3 Targets. I didn't see 1 single leader class anywhere. I was hoping to find Grimlock but I had to order him off ebay instead. But it seems like every toy hunt video I watch has a ton of Grimlocks sitting in their Walmarts. Judging from those videos, I kinda thought he'd be really easy to find. I was dead wrong!

All the Walmarts in my area got cases of Optimus Primal & Cyclonus. I don't think it was a smart idea for Hasbro to pack the case with 2 Primals & only 1 Cyclonus. Everybody seems to be buying up Cyclonus & leaving both Primals. That's exactly what I did too. I'm not interested in Beast Wars except for the 2 females & I already got them.

Saw the review, I'm liking Scorponok more and more. It's crazy because I never cared much for the character in the cartoon. But the scorpion mode is just too good. A shame his bot mode is so short, though. But I'd rather he be short but bulky and with a functional scorpion tail than have him be big and have a pitiful tail. To have both he would have had to be a voyager, and I'm not sure that would have gone over well with such an unremarkable character, specially considering he has a super simple transformation.

KIBBLE:
ground meal shaped into pellets, especially for pet food.

Who's the jackass that started calling it kibble anyway? 8-}

I personally don't have a problem with the term kibble other than it's meaning not being immediately obvious to non-transformers fans.
