I'd have to agree with you utterly. I too had that book, and Wheelie's pretty awesome in it, being a crazy survivalist. And I never really minded his rhymes in the cartoon (I was only three years old when the movie came out)Bumblethumper wrote:Diem wrote:As the only collecter who actually likes Wheelie and Cosmos, I'm excited. Well I never had anything against Cosmos, but I've always liked Wheelie(probably because I never knew him from the cartoon).
But I did have the book The Story of Wheelie
He was pretty cool in that. I still think he's a fun character with a cool design.
Warpath's tank mode I'm not crazy about. I don't see why we get so many H-tanks. They always look dumb to me. But I like how they designed Warpath with a retractable cannon. That's a nice touch, cause now he can have the classic look but he doesn't that big gun barrel getting in the way.
Seriously. What is up with Warpah's tank mode? I'm not very up on military vehicles but surely the original tank or something like it is in service. Unless it's been modernised for the hell of it.
I'll always love Cosmos though his new arms are a little goofy.

I will have to remember to try that the next time I get my hands on my Energon Bruticus.
Although, it doesn't look as stable that way, so who knows.

I didn't like Warpath at first, but I'm beginning to warm up to him. I'm gettin' them all.

I never got Bruticus maximus (thanks alot hasblo for not releasing it in the uk) so this new version should do for me.

That being said, ive gotta admit, for a legends figure, that wheelie looks freakin sweet.

Rodimus: Updated form yet resembles the classic. Nice.
Warpath: Tank mode is very odd but at least he has a nice robot mode.
Wheelie: FINALLY he gets a decent robot mode. Vehicle mode is nice too.

I mean, we got a voyager Powerglide that looked amazing, why not get a nice big voyage tank as Warpath as well?
Wheelie and Cosmos should at least be Deluxe figures.
And I still can't tell, that Cosmos mold isn't the one they used for the Titanium prototype is it?

Hey Hasbro! Bring on more minibots! Windcharger and Gears especially.
I'd also love to see legends class versions of the cassettes. Tell me that an articulate Rumble/Frenzy wouldn't fly off the shelves???

I always loved Wheelie and Cosmos, especially Cosmos. I would LOOOVE a Deluxe or bigger version of Cosmos. Maybe some day...

Mainly getting shot down and spending the episode unconscious.

I'm not big into legends, but I did pick up Jazz & Hound and they are great! Rodimus can hang with them. I have them around the feet of my planet-formers, and they are being chased down by tank Galvatron. Great scene.
I like the former mini-bots as legends, it's perfect.
I would like them as scout class too.
I'm not so into upscaling, but if they are resized like powerglide, they can go with my Alts.

As for Bruticus, I bought Energon Baracade a while back on clearance at a KB Toy outlet and I was going to track down the other figs but then found out there are only 2 different figs that are just repainted for the other combiner parts.
Does anyone else feel ripped off that this is happening with the combiners now? I'm lenient on Superion cause most planes look very similar but for Bruticus, just the main guy and 2 helicopters with same mold and 2 tanks with same mold?
Everything else about the Transformers line seems to get better but the combiners suck, each limb should be different like most of the originals. Even the newer Devastator had doubles in parts.
Maybe having a jeep, space shuttle, helicopter and tank are all too disproportional but still, I think they could have thought of something better.
I really really hope the new combiner in TF2 [if there is going to be one], doesn't reuse same vehicles for parts, it's cheap and boring.
I like the combiners that have 6 figs [different figs of course]

He's supposed to be a pre-Earth alt mode. Which I think is great, since now he can fit in with the Classics figures WITHOUT being disproportionately out of scale.

Warpath is awesome, he's the clear winner here. Wheelie's botmode looks cool, but the carmode looks too much like animated Bumblebee, should be more futuristic. Cosmos looks cool in both modes but i wish they did something about his arms, a bit too crooked s they are now.

Where did they say Warpath was supposed to be pre-Earth? ... I hate when that just becomes an excuse for an alt-mode that doesn't quite cut it. Like people who prefer to think of Universe Blaster being some sort of cybertronian spaceship thing rather than a failed stealth bomber.
Incidentally, tanks come in many different sizes, so a legends Warpath figure doesn't necessarily have to be out of scale. I remember seeing ones at a castle in eastern Europe that were smaller than the average car(!).

DMSL wrote:We already have a deluxe Hot Rod so why make a Legends class? Seems a waste of plastic, they should have made Huffer instead.
I guess past experience has shown that Hot Rod sells.
I hope they do Huffer/Pipes and Windcharger/Tailgate at some point. Trouble with minibots is the more they do, the more people will say why didn't they do such and such. It's a nice gesture, but they don't want to restrict Legends class to just minibots.

I must say I was a bit thrown by Warpath when I first saw his pics a few weeks back, but I like him more and more everytime I see him. Particularly the retracting cannon - nice touch.
It's clear that it's his cybertronian mode since there are no earth tanks that look remotely like that. Plus Universe Blaster isn't a failed stealth bomber since he's a repaint of Cybertron Soundwave who was an cybertronian/alien bomber.

I guess my point was it looks less like an alien vehicle, and more like an earth vehicle that's not right. It should either be authentically earthbound or impressively otherworldly. If they want to do a Cybertronian form, fair enough, but be deliberate about it, don't come up with some halfway thing.

That's a fair call. I liked Animated Megatron's cybertron alt mode since it looked distinctly alien. But others disliked it for the same reason (because it didn't really look like anything in particular). But I apologise, I'm getting off topic.
I do think the new wave of Legends is a huge improvement and Cosmos, Warpath and Wheelie (along with Brawn and Beachcomber) will be the first legends class figures that I will pick up.

To bad Hasbro didn't step it up and make some of these at least Scout Class....
I'm fine with Rodimus being a Legends fig, he's had his share of attention,
but Cosmos and Wheelie (and Beachcomber) would've been perfect Scout figs...
And Warpath would've been a sick Deluxe figure.

i want that. Actually its so called H-tank mode looks almost exactly like mine does lol.

That said, I dislike how Legends seems to have replaced the Scout Class which I think would have suited Rodimus, Hound and Jazz as it's close to the original Diaclone cars, of which I've longed to see a Hot Rod toy that fits in with them, not like his goofy looking G1 version. Though G1 Roddy had a much cooler car mode.
Plus I've always loved Hot Rod/ Rodimus Prime. I never found Wheelie annoying unlike Bumblebee who really BUGS me.
Slag, That joke is bad even for me!

I agree about Warpath's alt mode.
Who started this whole "H Tank" trend? Was it Armada Megatron, or were there H tanks before him? I can't think of any off the top of my head.
