I've never met anyone that hates change as much as you do
Looks like I wont have to worry about these guys for a while anyway..

Yeah I admit it, Im 34 so I dont sit well with changing G1 concepts. Isnt that what we have other lines for ??? It's funny how the robot mode is made to target collectors and the alt mode is made to target kids.
Am I the only one who enjoyed playing with tape decks, cassettes, microscopes, and cameras as a kid ??? When I wanted to play with a car, tank, plane, or beast, there were so many other options. It was these characters unique alt modes that made them so cool. I guess they fired the guy that made Ravage transform into a cassette. (with classics Hound) Horrors...

I understand your point and I'll also admit that Hasbro/TT do not always hit the mark, but in this case I think they did they best with what they had. Now, personally, I would have loved articulated a Rumble/Frenzy mold that turned into a cassette but i doubt children these days would. Especially, without an updated Soundwave to interact with. (Maybe a reason why the RTS version didnt even mention SW in the bio?) And if Hasbro/TT would have gone the cassette route, we would have kissed the piledrivers goodbye. So, I think they did a decent job with trying to update the character to appeal to todays generation and accomodate the original figures.

I have to say this review was the first thing that really made me want these two. But now, since they have become hard to find, and are $50+ when they can be.
I'll stick with the Shadow Warrior versions too.

How hard is it to stand a Generations Deluxe figure next to them?
Huh guess it doesn't matter either way since Bayformers are stealing what little joy I have left for the foreseeable future.
PE ones look far better anyway.

Here ya go, posed with music label SW who's roughly deluxe in size. Hope that helps.

They look awesome with WFC Soundwave, too.
As for their alt modes, I personally think they looks more like those unmanned SWORDS systems the Army is now trying out [you know, those remote-controlled robots mounted with assault rifles, running on tractor treads?]
Maybe it's Rumble's & Frenzy's implied size, and the fact that they have thin, twin lasers instead of one main large barrel canon.

I agree with Rated X on these guys. They've taken away what makes these guys unique and interesting and made them pedestrian.
Sure they've added the pile driver feature but it still doesn't sell me on the overall design.

I'm not a fan of Giving the microchange TF G-1 toys different radical alt modes.
