Via Mashable we have the first images of the Transformers Collaborative Back to the Future crossover toy, Gigawatt. Gigawatt looks to share many parts and have similar engineering to the War for Cybertron Siege Sideswipe molding, similar to how Ectotron shared elements with Combiner Wars' Hot Spot (among others.)
The image mirrored below is of a "Limited Edition" version of Gigawatt, with 1,985 pieces available starting today at approximately 1 PM EDT on Walmart.com. The link for this currently returns an error page, but is reported by the Mashable article as being here: https://www.walmart.com/ip/TRA-GEN-PROJ ... /504056937
Another version of Gigawatt, for which there are no images thus far, will be made available on October 1st through Hasbro Pulse and other unspecified retail channels.
Additionally, a four-issue crossover comic from IDW Publishing will indeed be happening. No details other than its existence and a pair of cover images were available at this time. Those and more images of the toy are mirrored below.
Good luck to all the Seibertronians looking to score a preorder for the limited edition Gigawatt this afternoon, and keep it here at Seibertron.com for all the latest Transformers news!

*what's the price on this? Half expecting it to be the price of a titan.
Posted by Stormshot_Prime on July 2nd, 2020 @ 11:04am CDT
That windshield looks a bit messy, but it looks like a small price to pay for all the movie-accurate things this guy can do. The paint deco is perfect though. The figure just wouldn't have worked if they used a basic grey plastic, that airbrushing looks great.
Also, his face looks distinctly like Maccadam from Cyberverse interestingly enough.

Well, we know there's also a Top Gun one coming.

"You built a time machine out of an Autobot?"
I definitely seem Sideswipe in the mold and the wheels look a bit Cliffjumper-y.
Since Hasbro owns MASK how about a few transformers with MASK functionality. Switchblade, Thunderhawk Rhino and the rest. You can make it the Battle of Boulder Hill or something.

I am guessing just a second general run maybe? They state sold at hasbro pulse.

They say in the article at the bottom that they had the wrong date before, and today is the new correct date.
...still not live though

I'll try for the limited edition, whatever it is, since I'm a big BttF and TF fan. Maybe I'll get a regular release too to take out of the box. I usually don't do MISB, but this time I may.
The chest is really wide. But the flux capacitor being there is fantastic.

too true, with any luck when they do get the link working it wont magically be already sold out like with some other exclusives. I am looking at you Neca Casey Jones and Raph.

The website originally said for preorder on July 2nd, but the correction at the bottom says July 3rd- That makes a bit more sense since tomorrow is the anniversary- Ill keep checking but I think we are 24hrs early!

After decades of collecting I have grown a lot of patience for the hunt, and even my own ineptness with interwebering, but Walcrunk.corn is the absolute worst!!!
And I have no patience for it.

I'm expecting closer to $40 because Ectortron retailed for $50, didn't he?

I would also accept $20.15
but $19.65 or $18.65 might be too steep of a price cut for them

I am going to go out on a limb here and say that the preorder will finally got live in about two and a half hours from now. Because that's when I make my thirty minute drive home from work.
... my general luck anyway leads me to believe that.

An hour of refreshing and still an "Error" page... I will make sure to get mine for October for sure. I am lucky my little bro picked Ectotron up for me for Father's Day.

I'm pretty much right there with you. We'll see if the shiny newness wears off before orders go live.

Expectation: log on at 10am PST (1pm EST), go to link, go to walmart website and order product
Reality: log on at 10am PST (1pm EST), go to link, link is broken, thus more effort involved (i.e. "complication") than expected. Do I keep refreshing? Is it really tomorrow (July 3rd at 1pm) as originally stated?....do I even care any more?....
Does that make sense now?

Yes, now that you have clarified that you meant the figures are becoming more complicated/more of a hassle to order.o.supreme wrote:ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:"more complicated"

The wording in your original post implied you thought the figures themselves were becoming more complicated.

If you read the preceding sentence , I think the implied idea pretty well understood (at least one other person understood it). If English is not your first language, I apologize as my sentence structure may not be as specific as needed sometimes.

The chest feels a bit wide and it's more blocky than I imagined, but its still cool.
If they gave him accessories to recreate part I and II,I hope they do the same for part III.
The use of the Sideswipe mold reminds me that would nice to have a remold/repaint to homage Armada Wheeljack.
Day 184 of waiting for Transformers Armada Masterpiece news.
Posted by Sabrblade on July 2nd, 2020 @ 1:45pm CDT
Some people made their own Armada Wheeljack out of that mold in the customization class at last year's RoboCon. The class was to make it SG Sideswipe, but some chose to make Armada Wheeljack instead.TulioDude wrote:The use of the Sideswipe mold reminds me that would nice to have a remold/repaint to homage Armada Wheeljack.

It really isn't.o.supreme wrote:ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:The wording in your original post implied you thought the figures themselves were becoming more complicated.

The preceding sentence, "I was going to try for this just because of serendipitous circumstances," says jack all about the ordering process. Ditto for the sentences that precede that; those are about you passing on Ectotron. And the only other sentence is about you probably passing on the Top Gun TF - once again, no mention of the ordering process. The only things you explicitly comment on are the figures. So what exactly was supposed to imply that "they are becoming more complicated" refers to the ordering process?o.supreme wrote:I passed on Ectotron completely. English very much is my first language; I'm assuming it's yours as well, based on you bringing this up. Your sentence structure in that first post wast fine... but this post could use work. One thing in particular stands out: "I think the implied idea pretty well understood"o.supreme wrote:If English is not your first language, I apologize as my sentence structure may not be as specific as needed sometimes.

I love that they went the extra mile as far as accessories go. I only hope that he has some kind of gravity gun that makes things heavy.
