Well Seibertron.... we got an odd one for you. It appears that in celebration of the Transformers Movie Franchise's 10th anniversary, we're going to be getting some reissue's of past movie toys. It may even be a sub-line titled "Transformers Tribute" and starting with the 2007 Leader Class Optimus Prime! Thanks to some Facebook and Weibo users we have some images on him in and out of box, and side by side with other Movie Prime alumni. Specifically though, he's not a straight reissue as he has some different paint apps along with a pile of chrome, and is not the resculpted "Premium" release.

What do you think? Is it too soon for '07 Movie nostalgia? Sign in and let us know, and stay tuned to Seibertron.com: home for the best Galleries and Conversation around!

The Orion Pax/WfC Optimus Prime 2-pack is also part of Transformers Tribute. Which makes it hard to properly classify. Is it a Movie line? A Generations-themed line?

Eh, since Generations has encompassed Movie figures before, I'll put it with the generic Generations-themed lot for now, without a sub-line.

With two (3 if you count wfc) different universes in the line the Tribute line is more of a generations line then the current generations line right now ha!

Bro that's a dope image I'm racking my brain thinking of all the figures I bought in the 21 years I been an adult collector and I got nothing it's NOT wfc Megatron maybe you can help me out. It has a Titans Return look to it but you said it's a pre movie Megatron. lol Looks dope tho! ;)

It's a digibash (digital custom) of Titans Return Twintwist, made to look like a "Pre-War" version of Megatron. I don't think it's based on any Megatron design in particular, moreso just an interpretation of the idea of Megatron from before he became a soldier/gladiator/whatever else, I believe.

EDIT: Whoop never mind

So anyone's that knows about this Leader 2007 "tribute" Optimus Prime I absolutely have to get him! I have a boxed loose complete 2007 Leader, a MISB AFA grade worthy of grade-9.0 2007 Premium Leader Prime (Premium L. Megatron too) & I always wanted a MA-01 Prime with the regular head but chrome & sword, this is the closest I can get to that. For anyone that doesn't know me I pretty much collect all Transformers & have been since 1996 at 19yo. I started in 1985 January but my mom put thr kabosh.on that in 1990.when I was at school sold ALL my toys for 16.00 towards my car. I wss pissed. Even at 14 years old when NO ONE collected toys as far as I knew.

I'm looking forward for clear HD pictures of that 2007 Leader Optimus.
Even though the toy is flawed and not movie accurate at all, it's a great toy by itself and well worth owning.

Honestly, any collector who don't own the mold already should consider this release. Merely for the added pizazz of a special edition.

I'm glad this figure's getting a bit more love. It's not really movie-accurate, but it's still great. This is the one that got me back in the game after mistakenly thinking that I was too old for such things. I have definitely changed my tone now.

The robot's pretty cool but the truck is just so solid and heavy. It's awesome.

It should have been sold this way in the first place. Do i dare say double dipping or triple dipping? These transformers should have been sold in their premium versions right out the gecko and Optimus Prime should always be sold with a trailer. Its crazy that the trailer is being sold separately on certain versions and by third party vendors. I stopped buying transformers years ago being we are getting the shaft nowadays and the high expense is phenomenal.

Fellow Seibertronian MaverickPrime has alerted us to a review of the Transformers Tribute Optimus Prime & Orion Pax Evolution pack! The set features the deluxe War for Cybertron Optimus Prime with a new deco, and a unique version of Orion Pax: A retool of Titans Return Kup! Chefatron's review itself has comparisons between Optimus Prime to the original version of the mold, and Orion Pax with Animated Cybertron Mode Optimus Prime and Thrilling 30 Orion Pax.

Check out the video embedded below, and let us know what you think in the Energon Pub!

I don't really agree.

Ok, it's absolutely not screen accurate. At all.

But it's his only issue. As a toy, it's a good toy, from the ratchet joints era, which doesn't feel hollow at all etc.

It's not like it's the first time we get a good toy not screen accurate.

Why?

He's not 100% screen accurate sure but he's a decent toy for what he was back in 2007.

Maybe not $89.90 decent but still well worth a regular purchase. $40 to $50 bucks worth easily.

That Leader Prime is the only Movie Prime I own (well, OK, I have EMOP, but...) and while I'm not a movie fan, I adore that toy. It is a cool symbol of the switch in design from the Cybertron line to the first movie toys. It's design carry's over so many things that make the Cybertron toys great toys.
It may not seem great to the die hard movie fans, but if you are a fan of how well designed toys are made, it's a magnificent toy.

nope probably one of the worst for Canadians.
You have to deal with the exchange and duty fees and the very expensive shipping so far were you I would wait to see if some Asian eBay stores have this instead. That was the best way to get some of the platinum sets.

I agree completely. Also, RUBBER TIRES!
I own the Premium version so I've no need for that one. Still, anyone who is not rigid in their TF collecting habits and want some oddballs here and there, that leader OP is a solid purchase.

There's more! Directly from the floor at San Diego Comic Con 2017, site owner Seibertron is providing us images of the display area at the Hasbro booth - featuring so far some older reveals from existing toylines. In this post, we cover the Transformers Tribute toyline! Covering 'evolutions' in old design and new, featuring older and newer incarnations of the same character, we see the likes of Optimus Prime in his 2007 Leader class toy (but nothing on the deluxe 2pack we have already seen in stores).

These are only the initial images, of course, expect the full Seibertron.com treatment as the event continues across the weekend, with more toy images, the Hasbro Breakfast Press event Thursday morning, panel coverage on Friday and Saturday, and follow-ups with official images and more!
