Fellow Seibertronian Sillyspringer has alerted us that the second deluxe of Titans Return Wave 3 now has a review! Titans Return Triggerhappy is the latest figure to be reviewed, this time by John Garringer, and in the process of watching the review one can find some very interesting things. His transformation is incredibly unique in that there are parts that swivel from the front to the back, from the top to the bottom, and sometimes even unfolding almost to the point of doubling his height. You can check out the full review below, and you can let us know what you think of him in the comments section below!

Finally found Brainstorm today for $18 and picked up Blurr for $9.

And before anyone says anything, yes, I have spent months sh|tting on this figure (blurr), and no, buying it hasn't changed my mind on the lackluster, nonexistent paint job - it still ruins the figure. I merely bought it for what I thought it was worth >:oP

But the figure is solid, a solid base for remolding and re-tooling. The alt mode is so sleek and sexy and I like the transformation. The bot mode is solid, but very bland, wish we had gotten something closer to the TT release, but we won't |:|

Brainstorm is really nice, while the alt mode might be a little bulbous, it works; I prefer the gen30 version, but that's only because I have them both, for those that don't this one works well enough. But, man, he is just covered in paint, most of his parts were molded in grey and then painted teal, and the tampo's on his wings and legs are just so refreshing to see. His bot mode is more distinct than blurr, and it really helps - it makes blurr seem like eevee, and each remold is an eevee-lution :-P

Given a choice between the two, I'd choose brainstorm, blurr is just too lackluster.

You mean the Cyclonus that they only just last year gave us in Combiner Wars?

That they already made a new Cyclonus so recently is likely a big reason why they even made the new Galvatron and Scourge in Titans Return.

On another note, I actually really like folding up the wings on brainstorm an turning him into a weird batmonile lookin' car thing, it's cool, makes it look like a futuristic hotrod

Is it weird to say that I'm more excited about the deluxes in this line than the larger ones? I suppose it's because they're easier to get a bunch of.

Walmart's on board. For $9.98 each I picked 3 Scouges. Already owned one from about 2 months ago so I now have Scourge and his Sweeps. My TR line is going to have a pretty sweet display. :BOT:

I don't think it's weird at all. It seems this is the general consensus on the entire line, at least for the first two waves. The deluxes have the most value out of any of the classes and have been consistently good, on the other hand legends, voyagers, and leaders have had less of an impact due to the less than good/problematic figures and remolding.

The deluxes also have the benefit of being characters who were historically [x]masters, while the characters in the larger classes are representatives of non-Master gimmicks (except Powermaster Prime) being turned into Titan Masters. You've got Headmasters, Targetmasters, and Powermasters all being represented as deluxes. Twinferno and Perceptor are so far the only revealed characters who have never been depicted as any sort of Master. I don't remember who else was on the leaked release list, anybody want to help out?

Any additions or corrections?

Breastforce simply refers to the gimmick of having an animal that turns into a weapon that turns into chest armour. Just so happens that the only ones to have that are Deathsaurus and the Liokaiser components.
Deathsaurus actually had two breastforce dudes. A tiger and an eagle.

Yeah, the Breastforce refers to the chest armor/animal/Targetmaster gimmick, not just the Liokaiser team.

He has the same gimmick as the others and, at the time, only Breastforce members had that gimmick. He just didn't combine with any of the others in the original lineup, much like how Star Saber was a Brainmaster but didn't combine with the other Brainmasters to form Road Caesar.

Talking of Deathsaurus, if he does come true; and I know we know nothing about him yet but... does anyone get the feeling he'll be a pretool of someone in the next Prime Wars line? Obscure Japanese-exclusive late G1 character, late in the line, it's a bit weird to have him of all guys take center stage... I dunno. Just feels like they wouldn't make him if they didn't have plans to make him into someone else.

Isn't he kind of relevant in the current IDW comics? I mean, so too have Overlord and Black Shadow been and they're both of the same Japanese G1 category as Deszaras.

Not very. He appeared but he hasn't taken a main role; essentially just being the proxy through which Tarn got an army. He might take center stage later - and I do get the feeling he might be and I really hope he will - but for now he's very minor.

Not a problem, it looks like all leaders are getting a decent amount of retooling in this line.

Ooooh my god yes, a new BW Megatron at retail. That would be amazing.

Even so, they can surprise us with pretools. I don't think any of us were expecting Sky Shadow to be an Overlord pretool - what if Deathsaurus is, say, Doubledealer?

I still think Dezarus will be a pretool of Grimlock. We're long overdue for a Leader of that figure and the transformations aren't all that different with the legs becoming the main body/tail and the arms becoming the legs. It would require a new alt mode head and wings, but that's about it.

That makes sense especialyl since the dragon head is tucked away in the back, just as Grimlock's head would be.

Q: What miss-assembly in Titans Returns Sentinel Prime ?

And is it fixable ?

---------

Fun note I have yet to see a single Titans Returns toy in a UK store in any place around me even in ARGOS ; WHO IS 'PRETENDING' TO HAVE THEM IN THEIR CATALOGUE Has nothing.

Nothing in : TKMax, Tesco, Toymaster, Sainsbury's, Asda, Argos or anywhere else a few new clearanced items from RID & Combiner Wars have shown up - nothing like Canada got though.

If I want to buy Titans Returns I either have to travel 50 miles & back or buy online. the sole exception to that is the Blaster I did get in TK Maxx but they've had zip since then other than some RID Simba Dicki cars and one Rid Strongarm and Sawtooth set.

Shame really. I hope they wake up a bit soon - the stores are not even bothering with the new Star Wars stuff much either so they don't even have the excuse that it is blocking.

At this point I'd be flipping thrilled to even see a new Legion or Warrior class. heck even a 3 step Bisk would get me mildly excited at this point.

Well, not quite. There are two Tidal Waves in there, the bottom one is the real one as evidenced by his Chinese name 潮汐波 Cháoxī Bō. The top one is probably Shockwave, as Micron Legends called Tidal Wave Shockwave.

There is a bit of a catch: their Chinese names don't match up except for the last character. The first means "Moon", don't know what the middle one is.

What if Shockwave is Tidal Wave's Titanmaster? Though I'm all for a teeny tiny Shockwave, I'd much prefer a bigger version to be released.

Why wouldn't you want the biggest Grimlock possible? People are already using MP Grimlock as a substitute for a G1 Generations Grimlock and it's a better idea than Leader Seeker Jets.

Powerhouse being Tidal Wave's Titan Master seems to be a misunderstanding. Chainclaw was the one that first posted that back in February, but sources since then have contradicted him saying that Powerhouse is an exclusive die cast Titan Master.

But in the cartoon he's bigger than Magnus in dino mode and about he same size in bot mode if you use Optimus as the measuring stick. This (huge) scale chart illustrates it well.

It's better to ignore the added size classes, that's derived from the official size chart from the cartoon. Here's a better one with the same info, but actually sticks them all together.

The SDCC Sentinel has the Titan Master head socket assembled backward. Here's a pic I took:

Image
If you look closely, the narrower part of the socket is toward the back of the figure. These are the tabs on the socket that slot into the grooves on the Titan Master head. On all other figures that I have, the socket is reversed with the narrower part of the opening toward the front of the figure. (Pic is Sentinel on his back.

It really doesn't affect function that much, but if anyone is concerned about it, turning the Titan Master head around 180 degrees should keep the tabs from being broken or warn down excessively. As for fixing it, I don't want to mess with that chest cavity to get at the socket and turn it around. There are springs involved...
