Isn't that what all toys should push?william-james88 wrote:But wsnt that what Hasbro was pushing for with Combiner Wars as well?carytheone wrote: TR is going be a fun line to play with as well as to collect.
I don't know, this line seems inherently more fun. Maybe it's all the little vehicles and play sets. Things that aren't just transformers or action figures to stand on a shelf and look cool. TR seems like something that will be spread across the living room floor, made into bases and have battles for hours.
CW seemed more like a thing to collect with the fun coming in the mixing and matching. TR just seems more toy like to me. Maybe that's why I wasn't that in to TR at first. I thought I wanted cool things on a shelf to tinker with from time to time. Maybe my perspective is changing?

I forget Cary, were you into the MP Line? I dont remember that being your thing. Because if cool stuff on a shelf to tinker from time to time was your thing then I would have strongly encouraged MP. Thats the king of all that. And yes I do find it fun that we have something at the tail end of that spectrum available too

Yes, I do like the MP line, it's one of my focuses this year. The other being some of the nicer classics/universe stuff that I missed and botcon helped me fill in some nice gaps (you were right about the classic seekers btw, they are great).william-james88 wrote:I forget Cary, were you into the MP Line? I find there is room for all the different types of figures. From 1-step to MP; there's a market at every stop along the way. I'll be getting a few cherry picked figures from the TR line just to experience what the Titan Masters is all about. Probably the ones that I need to fill in the gaps. I will not be going whole hog like I did with the CW line though.
Yay on the legends case pack. No interest in Stripes the table cat, but Rewind and Wheelie are high on my list of BoS and the price point for legends scale makes an easy retail pick-up while hunting.

My perspective is shifting all the time lately. Can't make up my mind about what figures I want. I am excited about this line, as I know I won't lose the little figures that create the heads/weapons this time around (RIP my original G1 Gort and Recoil )
And yeah Will, MP all day. Buuuuuuuuuuuut, TR with swappable heads and such? FUN! I really wish they brought back the tech spec indicator on the HeadTitanMasters..

Awesome to all of the above!DigitalBrave3 wrote:I can't remember if I've already said this in this thread or not, but I went to BotCon and saw the Titans Return figures in person. They look absolutely amazing in person! The molded detail makes up for all the hollowness, though hollow parts have never bothered me that much. Blurr's plastic color kinda looked a little bit lighter than in photos to me. The Titan Masters are so tiny! I wish I had brought my Headrobots Stronghold to try and estimate the height of the Titanmasters, but I can tell from a glance they are smaller than Stronghold and maybe even smaller than Micromasters and Mini-cons. Blaster and Soundwave look incredible in person! I'm definitely getting both of them. Alpha Trion looked great, PMOP looked really cool in person, Galvatron looked even more bad*ss than he already did, the deluxe all looked really good, Fortress Maximus has me very excited, and the stand-alone Titanmaster heads are wonderful and their cheap price means I can buy a ton of them.

We joke but I think these will sell well enough. I mean, the mini disk ravage sold and it was worse than this new one (not by much though).

Yeah, its smokey but clear plastic. I didnt notice that on Wheelie. If ou want a real clear plastic effect, check out the blizzard deco drift, his wheels look good enough to eat!

Me too
I would like to point out (to everyone) that this release date is in line with everything Hasbro said so far and what I have been trying to say ever since this line was announced. People were wondering how we could have such a huge gap with nothing in between but that is exactly what we are getting. Combiner Wars 2016 wave 2 has been out at Entertainment Earth since February, the gallery is proof of that. So can there be no releases between February and June? Yes, there can be and that is exactly what is happening. And thats the case all the time, it was the case last year. So I still dont get why people were thinking we would get an extra combiner wars line between Sky Reign and TR. So the earliest online release will be in June, then they will start trickling at retail during the summer slowly and then reach saturation in the fall, as Hasbro said.

This set doesnt have anything to do with IDW. Fort Max is clearly a Titan in whatever fiction that Windblade belongs to. He's on the box, you can see the tip of his fingure holding the sword:
So yeah, she's just coordinated with the titan she is serving.
However, the Hasbro reps revealed that Brainstorm's deco is SPECIFICALLY an "IDW" deco in this set. You can tell with the paint apps on his legs. So, this may turn out to be a tie-in to something in the IDW stories after all.

I buy great figures, and he is a great figure, no matter how I slice it, and at a great price, I'm goin' in on tr (not too much, but enough to justify getting a car to drive the head dudes around in) so he'll add some play value to the headmasters that I do get

I want him, but I have neither the money, nor room, nor extensive interest in him. He looks great, he wears the metroplex mold better than metro, but he's also lacking in my eyes because he's re-purposing metro's mold.
Now, once people get him in hand, and I see if he can pull off all of metro's modes, plus his own, that may shift me towards wanting him more, but, unless I have a job at that point, I will still be unable to afford him; beyond that, I would also need somewhere to display/store him

Besides, I prefer the IDW version of Fortress Maximus.
Posted by Hellscream9999 on April 14th, 2016 @ 9:57pm CDT
Ironhidensh wrote:Kinda how I feel. I actually really like the look of Max. Like Devestator though, he falls into the "too damn big": category. They are just to big for display, and I simply won't pay a $100+ for a figure to go into storage.
Yeah, and anyways, as I'm not interested in the leader class figures, I would really miss out on that aspect of the figure/line, so another thing against it (as much as I want pmop, if the sh|t plastic is being carried over from magnus, it wouldn't do me any good to buy him - ever)
Personally, I would love to get these guys and link up a bunch of bases, I would probably get several enjoyable afternoons out of playing around with them, but alas, this is the real world (besides, that's the sort of thing I expect from Cobo )

I really wish they would have gone with a more IDW style Fort Max like in those early schematics drawings. I'm probably still going to get him but I would have prefered something a little more different than my Encore Fort Max.
I just need to make sure the SDCC version doesn't sell out instantly so I can get that sword...

Those huge treads would've made it impossible for him to stand up - assuming he has no heels, like metro - he wouldn't have been able to hold any pose at all I'm sure

If you want the sword, why not just get the takara version. It's already on preorder and it even comes with a smaller sword for cerebros. No need to gamble on getting the sdcc version, and at a decent price.

Prehaps that was the reason why the treads were scrapped. It would be a nice compromise if, at some point, they released a voyager sized fort max that turned into a tank and came with as much weaponry as you could fit onto him

I really don't see the big deal. The headmasters aren't really my thing either, but most of the bots look really good in this line so I'll likely be collecting most of them. If you don't want to use the headmaster gimmick, then fine, just don't. The only difference is you have to remove the head for the transformation, otherwise that are just like a standalone bot.

Well no not really a standalone bot wouldn't need the head removed. Like I said if you like it fair enough but doing this to characters with no prior headmaster history is extremely disappointing.

It bothers me. It takes away from established characters from their history. Like I said I don't mind characters new or old that are headmasters from the get go but to change sentinel, galvatron, blurr , astrotrain and scourge is disappointing. Especially when they look the right size but personally for me are ruined for being headmasters. I won't be buying the characters I mentioned so works out for me I'll focus on mp, cw and rid.
