His confusion is not unfounded. These neuvo boxy G1 updates do remind me a lot of the style some 3P lines have been using.

well it looks dam close to that 3p figure!
it kinda now makes me wonder what mold they're gonna use for Trypticon? Diabolus Rex maybe?(Yes! OK! granted....i was being sarcastic! + that's not titan size).

What 3p figure? Blurr is a Hasbro figure in the Titans Return line. Also, what's TW? Toy World?

By the way guys, remember how the other pic had the front of the jet by his arm? I guess that means the end of the nosecone detaches. Thats an easy (but lazy) way to turn Blurr into Brainstorm.

Why is that lame? I think it's clever especially they give him a shield blaster that way instead of kibble.

I didnt say lame, I said lazy. Because its partsforming for the alt mode.

It's not partsforming to me when something becomes a weapon or something like that.
Is Generations Thrilling 30 Trailcutter's shield blaster also partsforming to you?

well you can argue semantics all you want! but it doesn't detract from the fact that the last use of that mold....was with a 3p figure!
now! at least in the creative USE of this mold....we'll probably get to see this figure(with it's remnants of Overclocking) released in bricks & mortar stores in the UK, while up til now...people have been shouting "BUT YOU'LL NEVER SEE A 3p FIGURE RELEASED IN PHYSICAL STORES WITHIN THE UK!" so i guess they've found a creative way to release this one
although it does now make me wonder what other 3p molds they'll creatively use for Titans Return

I dont have the figure and dont know of that eature so I cant comment on that, sorry.
I guess this will depend on how good it looks as a weapon.

As for retools, I am currently compiling a list of the best retools and none of CW figures on there. Nothing comes close to what Takara did with Battle Grimlock or BWN Killer Punch

overclocking shares nothig with titan returns blurr mold except that it's blurr. sxs ripped of hasbro to make their figure but hasbro has nothing incommon with that design except that its based on G1 blurr just like sxs did. animated blurr had a shield weapon and so did G1 blurr.

I really think you are overthinking this. A 3rd party figure and a hasbro product are shooting for the same exact thing. Of course they will be similar. But that in no way means that the molds are relatable. They both shoot for the cybertronian G1 cartoon Blurr, and they have to look similar since they are going at the same thing. And just cause they look alike means nothing. The hasbro version will have to be much easier to transform as that is their MO and the 3rd party one a more difficult one. Plus the hasbro one is a headmaster, whereas the other is a regular blurr.
This has nothing to do with a 3rd party fig. This is a new mold then reused as Brainstorm to accomplish the original look and aesthetic.

Because they're ALL based on G1 Blurr.
You don't get to accuse Hasbro of copying third-party toys when the third-party toys copied Hasbro in the first place.

Much as I hate to be cynical, but even so the chances of it seeing mass retail in the UK are about 1 percent. and about 10 percent of it being released through Toys R Us. Bearing in mind they completely skipped the Stunticons from combiner wars.. And almost all of the Thrilling 30 toys were exclusive to them.

Enough!
Hasbro has not, do not, and will not use 3p molds for figures. They create these designs in-house, from scratch, with help from TT. That they both happen to look like the source material is probably because, both hasbro and 3p companies understand the value therein.
No one is picking on you, you're bringing this on yourself by continually throwing this claim around. No one else is saying this, in fact, everyone is unanimously trying to explain why you're wrong, but you're obviously not listening to any of their well-reasoned arguments.
This is not a 3p mold.

I'm just happy to get a brainstorm that will actually see wide release, unlike the voyager one. It'll be cool to actually pick up a brainstorm figure in stores with a headmaster gimmick that (hopefully) is fully functional this time around.

Stu, it's clear now that your only doing this to try and start arguments just so you can try and be the problem user on that site, but you're more coming off as that cranky kid who just won't have a nap and is ready to drop at any moment.
Anyway, ah yes the issue of bots being titanmasters, another old favourite. I'm not bothered by this, but if you don't like it then just don't buy it, or buy it and keep the head on. Them not being headmasters only matters to us adult collectors (and even then not all of us) not to hasbro, so we are making an issue of something that is in the eye of the beholder.

Sentinel prime was bad ass in megatron origins I loved his power suit like iron man. He valiantly stood against but was ultimately viciously killed by megatron. He was a good predecessor in his nature to optimus and came off really well.
I always liked astrotrain in g1 and idw have given him a nice new lease of life as the grumpy sarcastic transport. I just don't think these characters deserve to be stained by being headmasters.

So they have a removable head, how is that 'being stained'? For every person out there against headmasters is another who maybe grew up with them, and has been hoping for these figures, and gimmick to make a comeback

1 - There's a bunch of Headmaster characters that haven't received modern (licensed) updates ... why utilise a character that was never a Headmaster?
2 - Astrotrain already has a modern update. Why another one?
(Same could be said for Galvatron but I know his modern update is disliked more than duragrip)
