Great idea!
But please stop giving me even more reasons to empty my wallet.

That is quite literally almost double what they used to be. Stop it, Hasbro.

It's not a Hasbro thing, it's a Universal thing. When I went there a few years ago, Deluxes were around $25. I don't know why they'd have to jack up the price so much.

Making him a Titan Master really is a neat feature that Hasbro/Takara didn't have to do but did anyways

It's a theme park thing in general. Prices for goods and services offered within theme parks tend to be higher priced in general because it's expected for theme park visitors to be spending large sums of money at theme parks anyway.SureShot18 wrote:Kurona wrote:40... dollars...

Back when Once Upon a Toy at Disney Springs (formerly Downtown Disney) used to have a Transformers section, their prices were jacked up as well. $40 Cybertron Leader class toys were instead $45, for instance.

Easy but satisfying and enjoyable. I think I only got a bit confused about how the arms tuck in but figured it out without the instructions anyways.

these were all found on the same Weibo page, which also had shots of Nitro's instructions and CG box art. Enjoy!

The more I'm looking at them both, a Nitro figure could be the closest thing to a voyager class Thunderwing I will settle for at least for the foreseeable future. That's the size I wanted him at (deluxe too small, leader too big, i like Marvel Thunderwing). I intend to get Siege on Cybertron set anyways for Magnus Prime and I'll keep the Thunderwing head to put on Nitro (haven't decided if i'll have two Nitros) and paint some bits of the body to match (he's mostly a similar grey/silver anyways, just needs a bit of blue or purple or whatever). The other three figures in SoC can go on eBay.

I actually was looking at the design last night and it reminded me of Cybertron hot shot, with the shoulders and arm design

I prefer to think of him as Archforce myself.

Might depend on what you'd want out of a new Thunderwing toy. Or whether you prefer Marvel's Matrix obsessed commander character (yay!) or the monster IDW one (bleh). And seeing as how it's unlikely I'll be treated with a proper new Voyager class Thunderwing anytime soon, the Nitro body with some minor repainting will do for me.

It looks more like this arms and shoulders are the back of the car not the front like hotshot

I'm just wondering about how it resembles any version of Thunderwing - again, I don't see it. Would prefer the Marvel character; dunno why Hasbro keeps referencing the IDW version when he was a bit player at best in the very very early stages of the continuity.

I think its due to his storm bringer design having those giant boosters in the back.
As far as a movie thudnerwing, he would be a better homage than most mosvie toys have been to their non movie counterparts.

Don't worry about it then. If I get Nitro and the SoC pack I'll have a go at making a Thunderwing for my own collection. I'm not massively fond of the face on the SoC Thunderwing TM but sometimes we just gotta go with what we can make do with to fill gaps in our collections til we get something more official and accurate

Still an awesome feature!

Incidentally though he is pretty F-5 like in vehicle mode and that is likely what he's based on there is a whole bunch of European jets he also slightly resembles too.
It does appear the cabin opens though - which if a Titanmaster can sit in it - would be rather neat.
It's nice t see they are starting to find a good balance between the look of something and yet avoiding the undue complexity of ROTF toys (mostly). as toys that are a pain in the backside to Transform are no fun for most people - and fewer people seem to want a puzzle - I have enough of bad time putting up with that Trope from 3rd parties still.
Speaking of Thunderwing though - Hasbro's Astrotrain is also a pretty decent body for him too.

Hasbro confirmed a titanmaster can sit there.

Hadn't even thought of that probably cos I try erase IDW Thunderwing from my mind (faaar too kibbly). But yes those booster thingies do look similar. I just doodled some very basic colour blotches on the Nitro pic to see where I'd like to paint Thunderwing-like details on. It won't be perfect but it can suffice. Anyways I'm gonna go play with voyager Megatron some more then i gotta go help with set stuff for the play I'm in (ugh it's a full weekend of rehearsals too... if only I was getting paid... ) I'll unsubscribe from here for now til cool new TLK toy news appears in the news page thingy so i won't get all them notifications.

The images blurry since this was a call on the computer but we can still make out some cool aspects like Cogman's open dashboard which seats two Titan Masters and Cogman's head on Nitro. There are also shots of Infernicus, Skullitron and Hot Rod.
Enjoy!

Nitro has a standard head, not a headmaster. But they did design his head to use the titan master port, so you can take his nontransforming head off and replace it with a titan master. Cogman is also titan master compatible, but his head is actually a titan master too
Posted by DedicatedGhostArt on June 2nd, 2017 @ 12:38pm CDT
Also, the only thing to complete my being absolutely correct about Nitro is if his cockpit fits a titanmaster as well. I feel good about myself.

Cool he does match up quite a bit with the cgi model although kinda strange Nitro has a more unique toy head compared to the straight up Shockwave head he has in the movie.
I did not use the first picture for comparison it was just the first picture I could find on google images of just Nitro.

SillyMcGilly wrote:I don't get the mix of heads. My guess is that since the CGI design has Shockwave's head and the KSI drone has a different head, that they decided to design the toy as kinda a mix. Who knows though. His head might transform to look like that for all we know. Some kinda battle mode.
Or maybe that's the final head and the one we see in trailers is just an early placeholder or the original.
I think that one is unlikely but it's just another theory/guess.

I just figured it was simply because Nitro is currently the only Titan Master-compatible figure who is predominately light gray, has a robot mode design that doesn't resemble any of the more recognizable non-Thunderwing characters, and turns into a similarly-colored jet-like aircraft.Kurona wrote:Can someone point me to why Nitro apparently makes a decent Thunderwing?
