Oh my lord Skullitron has the worst paint apps I've seen. It looks like he explosively vomited all over himself.....
Not to mention all those blatant hack job brush strokes all over the armor. It's a total garbage paint job. It's shockingly bad actually.

I can't stand Lockdown's deluxe figure (even though I have him), and Hot Rod's movie character is probably going to suck, but I am digging deluxe Hot Rod's alt mode, those paint apps, and larger size! I get more and more drawn to this figure the more I look at it. It's not worth $20, but would gladly pick him up on sale.

-Kanrabat- wrote:My priority is the voyager for Megatron. The leader, I may still get but only on clearance.

The voyager is pretty good but he is a bit kibble heavy in both modes with piece from one mode trying to hide in the other one and faling (lik the wings in robot mode and shoulders/pecs in vehicle mode.

But hes good and I like his integrated arm cannon.

Hound is fine but I dont know if I like him better than the previous one. He is far more of a shellformer this time with more alt mode kibble stuck around the robot mode. The articulation for the legs is very restricted. But not a bad figure by any means, just not overly imaginative (like the previous one). Looks more like Hound though, so there's a plus. Not sure if I should do a pictorial review, have we seen enough of these guys?

Walmart-exclusive?? So Hot Rod is only available at Walmart OR this version of him? :-?

Every Hot Rod toy from this film, even the non transforming cars, can only be purchased at Walmart in the US.

We knew One Step Cogman was coming for a while now but we never saw the toy fully revealed. Finally, this toy was found in Toy Kingdom in Makati, in the Philippines along with a totally new toy that was never revealed before: One Step Scorn!
You can see images of these toys in their packages below. They were found by TFW2005 member vproject. Legion Dragonstorm and Hound were also found in this store and you can view reviews of those two legions here if you are interested. There is currently no review for these newly revealed one steps so if any of you find some online, let us know!

It looks like the Premier Editions are the only toys with licensed vehicle modes, I don't see any Aston Martin info anywhere. Also, he seems to reuse the basic transformation of the... *counts* third and latest RiD Sideswipe one.

I think that's the point.

He's supposed to be old, rusted, and decayed. The entire point is he looks damaged. Its intentional. This is also an extreme closeup. In reality the paint on the face should probably look fine to naked eye, disfigured sure, but that's the point.

It gets across the disfigurement he's suffered. He's not supposed to have a nice pristine face.

I noticed that too.

Nice to have another One step dino though in the form of Scorn.

Strange that I've yet to see a single "Baby Dinobot" bit of merchandise - not even a stuffed one.

I was perplexed by how different Nitro is in the Movie the toy certainly IS Not a Saab Fighter jet like he seems to be in the Movie.

(If that is Nitro in the Movie).

But that covers like 50% of the toys that should be based on licenced vehicles. Saying the premiere line is the only one with licenced vehicles becomes quite the hyperbole.

Plus we have no clue what Berserker is really supposed to be or even if he is in the film. So his one step could be just as legit as his deluxe if he doesnt exist.

Also, I am now wondering if Sqweeks has a mercedes trademark on all his premiere line stuff only because his cross sell is Drift :-?
If he has a mercedes trademark on everything linked to him, but isnt a mercedes, does that make him still licenced?

One of the main prerequisites of licensing is having the logo present on the toy itself, molded or otherwise. RiD 2001 Side Burn had the Dodge Viper logo tampoed on almost every version of the mold upon US release for instance. Coupled with the Mercedes info on Deluxe Class Sqweeks' packaging, that leads to a small amendment to my original statement.

Licensing info has to be exact, taking into account every single appearance, be it in physical form, or via images. It's the latter that creates some unusual occurrences:

- The Western Star and Chevrolet info on the Tiny Turbo Changers baggies is not just because of the toys themselves, rather Optimus Prime and Bumblebee are proudly displayed on them, plus more importantly their vehicle modes, logos and all. The individual instructions don't show that info unless the figure is either Optimus Prime or Bumblebee.
- Mercedes-Benz info on Sqweek's packaging? This is where vanity is kind of a bad thing, as their logo is prominently displayed on his cross sell Drift's chest in stock images.

To pull things back a bit, I still find it odd that the Turbo Changer Optimus Prime and Bumblebee toys all seem to be licensed, yet the rest of the range is not, even if the Premier Edition version is.

And damn, I love this figure already. Articulation is great, transformation is fun and jet mode looks good too.

Many of those are falling victim to the desire to put some breathing space between TLK & Bee's Movie - but I wasn't so much thinking of the regular toys as much as the Baby Dinos seem to be designed to hype them as does Dragonstorm - so where are the baby Dino or Dragonstorm stuffed toys etc... If I was 8 I'd want a T-shirt with a Transforming dragon on it I expect.

I was struck by something I read in a review: the lack of paint on the new movie one step turbo changers makes them look less like retail products and more like prototypes.

I feel like a lot of the TLK have a cheap look, especially the one steps and legions. Do you guys think it's the same as previous movie lines or is it worse in this regard
Re: Transformers: The Last Knight stop-motion toys Blooper Reel (1890283)

I have to say, the paint standards on the TLK figures seems to have taken a nosedive. Sqweeks has those awful streakily-applied brown splodges on him (which were obviously supposed to be rust but look more like he fell into a silage tank), Steelbane has the most feeble attempt at an ink wash ever, and Skullitron (who's naming these guys?) has what's clearly supposed to be verdigris-riddled copper but instead just looks like he's been splattered with blue paint by a child. Even Prime has the really sloppy paint on his eyes. Gone it seems are the days of airbrushing and decent paintwork.

Hasbro, if you're reading this: There's more to weathering than taking brown and wiping it on the figure. Poor Sqweeks looks like he's been used as toilet paper.

Youtuber Chefatron has a review of the Walmart exclusive Transformers: The Last Knight deluxe Hot Rod. It confirms that he indeed does not come with any weapons. This review is far from ideal though since the comparison of the robot mode to Lockdown's is done with Lockdown still in his box. Still, we have a great series of photos showing all comparisons to both toys if that is what you are seeking.

And Maverick Prime sent us the video first through e-mail, which is our default channel of news submission, so he got the credit. We can only give a news credit to one person at a time.

The figures were found at a Toys R Us in San Diego, California and were retailing at $15.00. The 2-packs consisted of Optimus with Grimlock, and Megatron with Bumblebee. With the movie upon us like some vast predatory bird, the toys are sure to be hot, so keep looking out for the new figures, report your sightings, show off your new figures, and get movie hyped!

Remember those slightly blurry images of the first leak of The Last Knight's Infernocus combiner set? Courtesy of Toys "R" Us Singapore, we now have official stock images of the Infernocons and Quintessa! These images give us our first good look at the individual Infernocons that make up the beastly Infernocus. As a reminder, the limbs of Infernocus (Rupture, Thrash, Gorge, and Glug) are redecoes of the Prime: Beast Hunters Abominus limbs (Windrazor, Twinstrike, Blot, and Rippersnapper, respectively), while Hun-Gurr is replaced by the set's sole new mold, Skulk.

Additionally, we have new images of Cybertron (a luminescent redeco of Cybertron Primus that gives Generation 2 a run for it's money) as well from the same source, which can be viewed below.

He does, the torso. Its enough of an alt mode for most Power Ranger or Voltron toys. He just so happens not to be a triple changer unlike the others. But yeah I know what you mean.

in transformers fandom, a torso mdoe isn't considered as a real alt mode.
i honestly not too big on infernocus. i get the appeal and why many people would love him, just that it doesn't work that well on me. this combiner finally has a coherent color throughout, compared to the other variants, which is a good thing, and the fact that they give him new mold for the torso bot. but the fact that the torso bot don't have actual alt mode bummed me, especially when all the limb guys did. it just feels incomplete. therefore, i don't think i will pick him up.

but then again, i've been wrong many times before, and ended up picking up things that i said i won't, so, who knows.

Not to mention all those blatant hack job brush strokes all over the armor. It's a total garbage paint job. It's shockingly bad actually.

You can suspend disbelief and pretend all day long about anything you want it to be but nothing changes the fact that its a terrible paint job. Not just on the face but on the armor as well. That sloppy mess of a ham handed attempt at paint application destroys any of the details designed into the head sculpt with big fat blobs of green paint. At the price they're asking these days for these figures i'd expect a lot more effort into the details. It looks more like cheap dollar store knock off garbage.

Primus looks great in those colors. But the price blows. Nobody buy one so TRU puts him on clearance...

He doesnt have an alt mode aside from becoming a torso.
